Unfortunately I found no tool to remove the PCV. Also this video doesn’t show how to remove the whole hose . ONLY how to remove the PCV Valve after being snapped off.
You will have to drill carefully onto the wall of the plastic. Not on top like your drilling in rather more of a grinder.
You can re use the hose. Although from the inside of the hose it looks carbed up.
As far as removing those non tamper screws. I gripped around it with a plier. Same for install as they are not so tight. They come off easily

Update: there is a tool for removing the whole hose. Id recommend Chevy owners to be extra careful with low oil levels. This will be bad for your engines my piston rings went out and will need rebuilding. 2020 Chevy with engine failures

I believe the tool used to disconnect those hoses is a 5/8 fuel line disconnect.

That’s exactly what I seen on a video. I was gonna pin you but I had to verify my account

you may be thinking of 5/16" cause idk what car actually has a 5/8" fuel line. but even then the tool is useless if you are trying to disconnect them before they are actually broken, cause you can't get it up and inside the fitting. I ended up leaving it all connected, and unbolted the adaptor to the turbo inlet, and popping the other line out of the intake boot, and leaving it all connected to the valve cover itself, vacuum pump broke, and damage the camshaft.

Hopefully this helps someone. Apologize for not explaining how to remove the whole hose, it seems more simple then the connection to PCV If you find any tools for this it would be appreciated if you share it in the comments

How low was your oil -How many miles on the original engine -How often did you change your oil
@justanotherskid3801
@justanotherskid3801 6 месяцев назад
Hello!!! So I got the car 35,000 miles and did the oil changes according the the computers “oil life” at the time of failure it was 87,000 miles. My oil level actually extremely low, to the point where you hear the ticking noise which was about 1-2 quarters I assume.

It was honestly preventable, I made mistakes, also I haven’t encountered such an issue with Honda or Toyota. I’m relatively new to mechanics about 4 years now, But this failure definitely brought more perspective and experience. To sum it up I thought by doing the oil changes on time I would not have an issue. I could get more into detail on what mistakes I’ve made. However, it’s clear to me that this model of vehicle needs 100% assurance the oil levels are set. And possibly even preventative maintenance of replacing the vacuum pump at first sign of failure or even replacement before signs are present.

Is the back PCV valve internal or external I watched another video of a guy doing it and he had to remove the whole valve cover because it was internal. But your looks exactly like mine so that’s what’s confusing me

It’s confusing because you don’t have all the information to properly diagnose. The repairs are easy. There’s the internal pcv valve he took it off on that video

I’m having a lot of pressure out of the dipstick and oil cap I figured my piston rings where shot so I was just gonna keep up with the car until it gave up but I came across that video you pasted and he basically fixes the same issue I’m describing by replacing the pcv valves, but I was looking at mine and it seems so simple one in the front and one in the back both held down by that annoying bolt is it that simple?or is the pcv valve closest to the cab made up of two pieces one internal like the other guys video and one external piece? Or is mine completely different from his and just that external valve you see just needs to be pulled out and replaced ?

It did not help. How do you take the hose out?
@justanotherskid3801
@justanotherskid3801 8 месяцев назад
I didn’t have to take it out. There is a tool shaped like a disc almost. I had a hard time finding out what tool it was but I’ve seen it in a video.

Ugh man this is my first video and I hate how I recorded this because I’m better the. This. If your having an issue with this. Your most likely looking for the tool. To remove this. It’s not common so listen well. I have seen a tool for this and it’s shaped like a sparks plug measurement tool and it comes with a variety of sizes This video was only a short cut to remove a stuck PCV Valve. NO INFORMATION. Was available to me as well about what tools to remove this I improvised before finding the tool. Apologies but at least you know the tool does exist as far the bolt to remove th PCV valve you can grip it and turn it with a tool (NOT TIGHT at all)
