I would strongly recommend and suggest that you install a dorman oil catch can in-between the valve cover to air pipe hose I am getting major gas mileage improvements I have a cold air intake box as well peace and much respect to you 👍 JASON
I just wanted to tell you how in love with your car i am!! I want my MALIBU to look just like that. And omg!! The purple headlights!! Get out my head dude. You've got talent & i'm not hatin. I lovin it!! Imma bring you my malibu.
Also I recently released a website to help others get to these similar modifications. Here’s a link if you want to check it out 👍👏 www.malibucustoms.com/shop
Sucks in indiana only can have white headlights or ember for turn signals. If not tickets all day. And rear lights can only be red and amber for turn signals... sucks ass. For the running lights up front I wanted to make them red🙄
@@malibucustoms4428 Get at me bro my ride is not as custom but I've found alot of parts that will work just by doing my homework I don't have a body kit yet but I've seen a lot of fab work it's just hard because we all want better performance
NAHHHHH i just had a 14’ maxima and after a while of beating the car stock i slapped a short ram intake on it and there was a little better performance but THE NOISE was hella worth it and i just got a 19’ malibu and im diggin the lil turbo and after watching this u can realllly hear it better w that intake so im DEFINITELY finna have to get me one and slap it on 🤣😩😩😩😩 that shit sound goof for what it is, imagine upgrading the turbo tho😳
u might run into some problems, i also own a malibu (2017 premiere) and when i was reading on forums one day i saw that the ECM in all models other than premiere block any kind of computer software 2018+
Hey I have a question about my Chevy Malibu. I purchased it in January from just coming home after doing 16 years in prison, I was a young dumb kid and got caught up but I think the dealer ship took advantage of me I have a 2020 Chevy Malibu with 70,000 miles my issue is this: when I start the car and put it in drive nothing happens I can press this gas pedal to the floor and I get no responses I just sit there for a minute or 2 then the car will start idling up and down like it’s about to stall then it will jerk then the check engine light comes on then it starts to go. Once it gets going I don’t have no issues with it. But after that the car does stay idling high above 1. I have no idea what the issue is. I replaced the gas pedal, throttle body, air filter, and MAF sensor. And once I turn the car off a couple times the check engine light goes out. I also keep getting a notification for air filter but it was just changed so I go back into the computer and reset it and after a day or 2 it comes back on. Does that mean there could be a hole in a hose possibly. I know nothing about cars, I build houses for work all my life besides the 16 years😮 but if you could please guide me in some sort of direction cuz I hate to keep replacing things that aren’t the issue. Thank you so much for you time
If u get trifecta tune u should get the custom tune because my brother got the tune for stock malibus when he had put parts to the engine before the tune n it messed up his engine becuase the tune was ment for stock malibus
I recently got a 2018 Chevy malibu 1.5 LS What’s your wheel setup? I got these silver chrome starfish from the dealership💀 Also I’ll be soon getting one of those intakes. Tryna make my turbo loud Also what’s your exhaust setup?
Do a ceramic 30 on the back and 20 on the sides. 70 on the front. Mine looks smacked out in the night and during the day fr9m afar but from close you can see in a little . Never got stopped by the cops but it gives it the darkness you're looking for with out being super hot for th3 cops
I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu. Eco friendly 2.5l no turbo what could I do to start ? I have a k&n air filter. A k&n cabin filter(which does nothing) thanks bro. Cars sick
Appreciate that! And you can maybe just get an entire K&N short ram intake system if you dont have that already instead of just getting the filter replacement. That’ll definitely up the sound of the swoosh’s. You can maybe get a muffler delete and race chip tune if you looking for some more performance 👍
@@malibucustoms4428 Do you know if the chips even have an effect on horsepower? Can’t seem to find any videos on them and don’t want to blow $300 on nonsense
Late response but if you still have the car there are about 4 ways to do so. #1. You can disconnect it (look up RU-vid tutorial) but this will cause a check engine light #2. Constantly have ac on (even if it’s on low, the engine should not shut off as far as I’m aware) #3. Drive on “L” as opposed to “D” but MAKE SURE you are on L6, L8 or L9 if you do so, if it’s not on the highest option your car will not shift to top gear (I’m not sure if doing this will cause problems, but I don’t just to he safe) #4. My personal solution is not being hard on the brakes. When you come to a complete stop if you apply the brakes just enough to stop completely but don’t fully press them in, your car should not auto stop. Those are the only solutions I know of and have seen work. I believe that you can also “tune out” the auto start/stop with a plug in device of sorts but I don’t think it’s worth it for the price.
Man I just started to follow you and I got a 2021 rs black. I've.got 20s on it and I want to level the ass end by lowering it. What did you do to yours to get it leveled
It’s been holding up pretty well. When it comes to reliability it seems to be just as reliable as the stock intake so far. Performance wise, of course it doesn’t seem to perform the best or just below the stock performance when it’s super hot outside but on a normal or cold day I believe you get your money worth. So far I’ve had no real issues or complaints on them 👏💯💯
Sup bro. I do like how you setup your car. I have a 2019 malibu myself. I do want to setup my car. My question is how much did it cost you for the exhaust?
I’m not 100% sure on that and I don’t believe they officially made the 2021 Malibu intake or renamed the 2020 Malibu air intake as the 2021 Malibu air intake yet which should be the case since the 2021 is basically the same as the 2020. Here’s a link for the 2020 air intake if you interested www.knfilters.com/cold-air-intakes/chevrolet/malibu/1.5l-l4-gas/2020
I wasn’t into cars when I got this car and wasn’t looking at performance specs or really much except for decent gas mileage and cost. So now after my interest in cars grew, I’m going to do whatever I can with what I have and thankful for 💪
Cozah - I have this K&N short ram air intake. Also a Muffler delete and Resonator delete, in which when you take it to muffler shop and ask for those things they’ll know exactly what your talking about. I didn’t buy any exhaust pipes from online just used the ones the shop put on 👍
Nice video. Not really into the fart can sounding exhaust. To each their own though. Besides at the end of the day it’s just a sporty looking grocery getter.
You'll get an error when you start your car - "Check engine air filter". In my opinion, it doesn't worth it, 1.5t sounds awful with this intake, also it even worsened performance for me, because it pulls a hot air from the engine bay, even though there's a heat shield, that doesn't help. I bet he sees an improvement because of the straight pipes, not the intake. I ended up using stock airbox with k&n drop-in filter, much better results.
