You should try putting them on a piece of rigid foam. Will keep the roots warmer than the floor can.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a surge of interest in home gardening this year thanks to so many people having to stay home thanks to the Corona virus. It can be a good way to supplement your own food supplies.
