The thing I like the most is that it’s nice without being too flashy. The brand isn’t a household name, so if you pull up to the pump in this car, you don’t have to really worry about getting the bad kind of attention the way you’d have to worry with a well-known luxury vehicle. I want a nice car, but I don’t want the stress of having a nice car.
Forget a BMW 3 series, G70 all day everyday, G80 all day everyday and G90 just Genesis Period, can't wait for Genesis GV80 gorgeous SUV. The reliability is a 10 on all of them.
DaRkVeGeTt0 Please tell us, oh wise one, what you know about the car that everyone else doesn’t. Everyone who owns one sings it’s praises. It’s won car of the year multiple times. Spec wise, it matches the German badges and its a better price. What is it that you know that nobody does??
Mastergenie 54 yes, with complimentary concierge service. The dealer will pick up your car for service, leave you with a loaner (another G70), and then return it fully detailed
I have one in Himalayan grey. It’s definitely a sleeper and grabs people attention while I’m driving although I’m rarely asked about it. People are more talkative/curious about my dad’s stinger
You need to push the traction control button for 3 Seconds and only then launch it. You didnt really launched your car. It supposed to say "Launch control ready" when you press the brakes and gas and it will say "Launch control active" when you release the brake. Also the Rpm will go higher.
Bought a 2020 G70 3.3T RWD Sport in the Havana Red. Absolutely love it! First thing was ceramic coating & windows tinted. Back seat is a little small, but the wife & I are empty nesters, so not an issue. In get a lot of comments on it.
That’s what I love about this brand. Majority of people still don’t know what type of car it is. Every where I would got for 3 years when I had a 2015 Genesis (G80) I would watch people literally stop, stare at me, talk and point. Some may ask me about it and we’ll have a conversation. I would smile ear to ear every single time. This car is an eccentric show stopper and I cannot wait to own a Genesis again. I always dare to be different and this is it. Genesis.
A person who uses a g70 as a daily driver is a sharp f@#£wr. Because the savings on depreciation and maintenance costs alone pays for a sporty weekend car.
Love this car! But hoping the "Mercedes E-class" was a typo and the quibble about it being tight in the back wasn't serious because this being a C-class competitor means it SHOULD be a little cramped just like the BMW 3, Civic, Corolla, Merc C and Audi A4 that all belong to the Compact sedan category so it should by no means be point against it if it isn't a problem with the others in the same category.
I wanted one of these. 3 dealerships and not one of them could get the color and model I wanted. The first one had it and gave me a sweet lease deal but while I was driving there the salesman sold it to someone else... The whole experience with 3 Hyundai dealerships totally blew...
Exactly why they need seperate Genesis dealers.. The Hyundai dealerships don’t know how to be professional. Having a new luxury brand is something they still haven’t gotten training for or are used to. I walked the lot for 10 minutes trying to find a G70 and then waited for a salesperson to take me on a test drive. Dude knew nothing about the vehicle
I’d seen the G70 online and REALLY like it. When I finally saw it at the NY Auto Show in 2019 I was uber disappointed in the rear seat room. Still this year when I was out looking I went and looked at it in a dealership as I was looking at the Palisade. I started it up but I could not bring myself to drive it. I was in a 2016 GTI and as you mentioned the rear seat legroom is pretty unusable, especially for adults. I couldn’t justify spending an additional 20k & still having the same amount of rear seat legroom. I also drove the Scat Pack that you mentioned. Look at it very carefully. I LOVED the ride. It was uber smooth, with plenty of power of course but the interior appointments of the 2020 Scatpack were below that of my 2016 GTI. The rear seat legroom in the Dodge is also eerily similar to that of the G70 & GTI. The Dodge gives the appearance of a bigger vehicle but they do a terrible job of space utilization. The last straw for the Dodge was the build quality on the interior. I’d seen in some reviews that the interior quality is suspect. On my test drive I noticed that the rubber trim on the center stack looked off center. I attempted to straighten it and the whole piece began to peel away. If it peels away when it’s brand new.... I do like the look of the new G80 & the GV80. I definitely would consider those two options. Ultimately for me I settled on the Stinger. I like the interior & exterior look of the G70 better but I couldn’t bring myself to basically buy a 2 seater again without actually buying a 2 seater 🤷♂️. I’m just about a month in and I’m happy with my decision. Thanks for sharing your update. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
I bought a stinger a few months ago.I feel better each day about buying it.It is a 2020 AWD GT-3.3TT. I bought it outright and only paid 19k after my trade in.I also went down a list and drove several cars including an SRT--in which the check engine light came on during the day I had it.I thought the SRT would ruin me cause it was so fast.I drove a type r honda and it just was not as fast as the charger.Looked at deals (performance cars)under 50k and the stinger came up.I went and drove the stinger and made a deal after the test drive. It was faster then the honda and it felt like it it was just as fast as the SRT.The AWD gets the power down so quickly that when you punch it--it feels like a 400 plus HP car.
@@khronin Agreed. The Stinger feels really quick! It doesn't have the bristly character of the Dodge but it also won't bite you in the wet the way the Dodge will. I was all over the place in my process. I looked at the Q50, Palisade, 3 series, X3, Durango SRT, Charger SRT, Mustang GT Premium, Camaro 2SS, TLX, Regal GS, Accord 2.0 Touring, Civic Type R, IS300, Legacy Touring, Arteon, Atlas, Atlas Sport, Mazda 6, Ram 1500, Model Y, Model 3, S60 & the Defender 110. I was all over the place :-D. I'm glad you found something that really works for you. Congrats!
When I drove the stinger about 2yrs ago, I instantly fell in love with it. However during that time it was impossible to find a dealer who had the exact configurinwas wanting so I ended up buying a 2018 G80. Was very happy with that choice but definitely wanted the stinger AWD!! I still love the dodge product, but I know a body change is going to happen here soon..
Hey Julio, did you consider the Kia Stinger? I haven’t purchased the G70 yet. Now I’m considering the Stinger for the 1st time. Can you do a review on the Stinger GT2??
For me, red attracts too much (cop) attention and may have helped trigger the ticket for tint. Love the G70, I literally look forward to driving mine everyday. The back doesn't have a great deal of room, but I tend to think of it as a 4 door coupe. I don't know if I could ever lease another brand
I keep thinking of getting one of these, I test drove one the other day and was blown away, I heard they’re the same as the stinger GT, and they have the same powertrain and bumper to bumper warranty. But, I’m trying to figure out how I should option this out? I want the 3.3 most def, but what are some options I could go without and still enjoy all of the power?
room vs comfort. Stinger has a lot more room with the hatch and the folding seat, rear leg room. But the G70 is a lot more comfortable . Styling preference is also a personal choice
I think the stinger looks awesome, but i cant get passed the badge unfortunately. The Genesis is awesome; everyone asks me about it. Can’t help think the Stinger would be a lot more popular if Kia created the luxury badge like Hyundai did with Genesis. I see Stingers driving around and it looks beautiful... its just the badge for me.
I got a 2020 Stinger GT AWD 3.3TT and paid 36k.I have all the electronics to go fast with AWD--brembos--etc--and none of the electronics or sunroof or more exotic leather that adds 8k or more.I am unfamiliar with the G70--but a G70 with AWD is all you need --or a StingerStinger is slightly lower--and the wheelbase is longer--it is the Sportier of the 2.I have had my car for 3 months and it is a world class performer for the price. If the reliability stays great then the car will get a 10 out of 10.I could care less about badge if the car is great.I came from a Honda and was use to reliability--I researched these cars and they are very reliable and the forums have noone with blown engines or turbos.KIA where i get mine serviced has 3 people with almost 100k--one person tracks and the only warranty done was fouled plugs on one in which the person may have tuned it--but this was at 88k miles and that person had tracked theirs.I also drove in my first downpour last week and the car with AWD was freaking awsome--I did not even have to slow down--even with 1/4 inch of water on the road. These cars right now are the "it" cars for th price performance and a 10 year warranty.
I know this particular model is relatively new but for those who have owned Genesis models within the last 3 to 5 years, how is this car's reliability?
@@MoneyShifted im just being honest, these cars look stunning but I have been hearing a lot of NEGATIVE feedback about Hyundai nade vehicles lately. They deem these cars to be unsafe. Is this true?
@@daniel022209 genesis and hyundai same but different genesis are insanely reliable I have 2013 genesis r-spec 5.0 for 5 years and had not 1 issue and I sends that car flying almost the time. My sister has a gv70 for 5 months so far no issues she even had a brand new bmw back in 2016 535xi and the reliability is trash compared to genesis
You know when I first bought it I didn’t really notice it till this last month or so.. I’m not sure if it’s just more noticeable now or if it’s slowly wearing.. I’ll keep you posted
@@RealCarGuyReviews... Tires get louder as they get older/wear down; so that might have something to do with it. Plus time of year and door seal performance.
I loved my old G80 2018, however once I got the same engine in the smaller body I loved the get up and go. I am excited about the 2021 G80 to see how the handles it. I think the G80 2021 should be the buy but that 90 is loaded with everything
I’m in Canada (Calgary), The car is AWD, and is absolutely beautiful to drive. Feels very much like a BMW or Audi. In hindsight, I would have gone with the new G80 for the extra size, but there’s nothing about the car i can complain about.
My husband has a Hyundai and it’s been better than my new Honda. I have a friend who has a Genesis and zero problems. My husbands Sonata is now 6 years old 124k miles and no problems ever! I want to buy one
Real Car Guy Reviews I bought a lemon, transmission needed to be replaced at 90, suspension struts broke from a pothole that was a 10,000$ fix. I had a bad experience with my genesis not gonna lie, bought like I said it was probably a lemon. It was the showroom car
I really like the body style. However, I don’t like that diamond pattern upholstery at all. That unnecessary piece of chrome on the side is just plain ugly.
You started the video by saying “here’s some of the things I liked about the car”. Kinda implies that you were going to conclude with some of the things you didn’t like, or would like to see different. But no.
@@hededcdn its Sonata, elantra as well, kia Soul, optima, the issue is with Theta 2 engines and this engine is used in several hyundai and kia cars. Including genesis G70. I contacted the Genesis dealership and told them about the engine issue and their response was that we will replace it. I dont know about you , I would like to stay alive first and then worry about warranty replacements of an engine! More than 300 hyundai, and Kia cars have caught on fire last year. I wont buy a car which even remotely has a chance of catching on fire! A friend of mine has a Sonata which had a blown up engine while driving. He is lucky that he wasnt driving fast or his could catch on fire too. The sad part about it is thst there is no warning at all, it just sounds funny and stops, or caught on fire, some people have reported that their dashes started melting before their engines catches on fire. The defect is in the way that the engine is built that metal particles from cranckshaft detatch and launch into the oil filter and inside the engine, the engine can get stuck and catch on fire! Weird on how stunningly beautiful these cars look and what type of crappy design they have under the hood. I would avoid this fancy casket at all costs!
