Kia india has been launched the all new kia sonet in India. Prices for the Kia Sonet subcompact SUV start at Rs. 6.71 lakh and go up to Rs. 11.99 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom India. Do note that the prices are introductory. Kia said it received over 25,000 bookings for the Sonet and is getting an average of 1,000 bookings a day. It is the third model launch from Kia Motors after the Seltos and the Carnival. The two key USPs of the Sonet are its long list of features and sharp styling, setting it apart from its competition. India is the first country to get the Kia Sonet and it will be exported to over 70 countries from here. The company says that the Sonet has been tested for over 1 lakh kilometres in India.
The 2020 Kia Sonet will be offered with three engines and five transmission options that include a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a six-speed iMT unit and a seven-speed DCT unit. The former is capable of producing 81bhp and 115Nm of torque, while the latter produces 117bhp and 172Nm of torque. Also on offer will be a 1.5-litre diesel engine with a six-speed manual unit and a six-speed torque converter unit. The manual variant is tuned to produce 97bhp 240Nm of torque while the automatic variant produces 112bhp and 250Nm of torque.
the Kia Sonet 2020 HTX exterior include a tiger-nose grille, full LED headlamps, projector fog lights, the 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a rear diffuser, and LED tail lights. Inside, the model receives a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, UVO connectivity, sunroof, ventilated front seats, LED sound mood lighting, drive and traction modes, wireless charging with cooling function, and an air purifier. The Sonet is equipped with safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, VSM, hill-start-assist, and brake assist.
If we talk about the 2020 Kia Sonet HTX interior it is loaded and then gets some first-in-class features as well. The top-spec models get a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment, 4.2-inch instrument cluster, a Bose audio system, air purifier with virus protection, ventilated front seats, steering mounted controls, different drive and traction modes, mood lighting, wireless charging for smartphones and so on. Like the Seltos and the Carnival, the Kia Sonet will have the company's UVO connect technology with over 57 connectivity features which include voice assist and over-the-air updates for maps.
In terms of safety, kia sonet BS6 comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, front disc brakes, central locking, and emergency stop signal as standard. Optional features include - ISOFIX child seat mounts, tyre pressure monitoring system electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist control (HAC), brake assist, and multi-drive modes. The top-spec GTX+ variant gets 6 airbags.
2021 Kia Sonet has 23 versions available in India. Sonet has 11 Diesel Cars, 12 Petrol Cars. Kia Sonet comes in 10 colors, namely Aurora Black Pearl, Beige Gold, BeigeGold/Black, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Intelligency Blue, Intense Red, Red/Black, Steel Silver and White Pearl/Black.

Verdict:
Looks like Kia has another potential winner in its hand in the form of the Sonet and why is that? It’s easy, Sonet has everything needed to set the segment on fire and if Kia once again gets the pricing right as it did with the Seltos, Sonet will help Kia to cement its position further in the market. Also it will be rather interesting to see how it fares against its arch rival the Hyundai Venue, which is basically the same wine in a different bottle!
