Trust me guys! For Basic touring, all you just need good bhp, abs, slipper clutch, and good seating comfort. This is all available in dominar. That's the reason its vfm. With few mods it can tour very well! Ktm adv390 is all about touring with heavily loaded features like cornering abs, traction control etc, these features plays a bigger role in sports bikes. So are the charges. So think about what you guys are looking for, if its touring or off roading.

Thank God its Varun Painter! or I would have never seen you later.. ahem.. pun intended. Never imagined you 6.2ft tall , a fact which was never mentioned or I missed completely till now. Nice review as always. Any idea if Adventure 250 will come with cornering ABS, thats one feature I would like to have in a bike. Will be very useful in city , especially Pune where so many monkeys drive 2 wheelers and jay walkers are galore. Its only last week I kissed the ground in Hinjewadi at Bhumkar chowk, thanks to a monkey taking a sudden U turn. I was taking a turn and I am sure cornering ABS would have saved me the fall.

Actually, proper ADV should have lower end torque ... But in Adv390 we have to rev to high rpm..to get the punch on offroading and the proper offroader shouldn't have alloy rims. I think its for city and highways...

When KTM puts the ADV tag you expect a proper, serious off roader don't ya? In that perspective this is disappointing! Sigh The problem as I see it is in the name, they should have tagged it as a 390 tourer instead of the ADV and it would have solved all the issues, the bike in itself seems like an absolute killer of an tourer with all that kit! The only major problem for me is that HUMONGOUS seat height. And as always great video guys, the shots, the music, the content; tremendous 😁🙌

Disappointing KTM! I was afraid that the 390 Adv would be like you you have shown... It does look like a Duke with more ground clearance. I have built my 2016 390 Duke into a little adventure bike... Skid Plate, Bridgestone AX41 tires, 1-1/8" Pro Taper handlebars and Handguards with steel backbones. It is super fun, but it is not the "perfect" adventure machine. If you look at my channel I take it in some crazy places... but it is not a Dirt Bike... That is for sure. LOVE your Review though!!! Thank you! I do LOVE my Duke and will not be upgrading to the ADV.

Glad to see an honest review. Was always of the opinion that it won't be a good off roader because the gearing is the same as the D390. Looked more like an on road tourer and it really is.

This is a question for Varun ,? As old 390 goes very well around the corners , lean angle use to be way better because of those tires , this might have lean issues for those who live in hills with Adv390 , do you think it can be a issue ?

To the point as always!!!Leave aside hardcore off-road for awhile, It's the perfect tourer tailored made for India. Great upgrade for Dominar Owners/ Those who were looking at Versys. It can do 90% percent of versys 650 for 40% of price.

The perfect bike for India!! Ride it everyday, take it touring!!! Rides amazing on road and can handle the lack of tarmac too which is constant in India!!! And great video Powerdrift!!! Mr Painter can really ride well!!!

A review of the bs6 Duke 390 plz General question: why are KTMs usually unreliable?? Like engine shut down abruptly Or electronics failure when everything is going fine..... KTM being such a big brand just can't manufacture such unreliable bikes....

Got it about 2 months ago.....done 2500 kms....i tell you...power is more than enough....its crazy light n nimble ..so lovely to flick around..... does good at highway speeds....120kmph ish easily..... beautiful suspension n you can really put thru the trails..... not just good for new riders but I think a great weapon for experienced mature riders too.....compliments my other ride Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 perfectly (done 50k kms on it already) ..jus love it

It's not an adventure........just jacked up.......Duke..... can't fool.......poor KTM Engine should be atleast tuned to give more low end torque......use can't use the same engine tune across segment......... It's just a fail........... atleast for me...👍

It is simply a Tourer it can't be called as a adventure. We need more torquee engine. This KTM won't help you to relax while you doing a Long ride. I would like to call this bike as KTM DUKE 390 TOURER.

So basically its a smaller sister from another mother to the Versys 650, albeit a slightly better one: 1. Offers more fun riding on the highways thanks to that Duke engine 2. Slightly better off-road due to the much lower weight, more ground clearance and suspension travel 3. Better electronics package Definitely a great upgrade for someone coming off a 200 cc motorcycle and looking for primarily a touring motorcycle with some off-road capabilities. Had this been available 3 years ago, would have bought it over the Duke 390 for sure.

Fck electronics. They should have provided the basics. Spoke, ground clearance, off road tires, torquy engine tuning. Its heart breaking.

Instead of duke 390 high RPM fun machine set up they could've gone with Dominar low RPM. It could've been better.

KTM is doing pretty good with hype and delays.....now with a less of an adv bike with un nesessory tech and devoid of nessesary features....its better to stick with current D390...

The ktm ad 390 produces only 43.5 bhp isn't it .But it's described as 44.6 for adventure and 43.6 for Duke 390 in the video .

Those front number plates are terrible. They'd destroy the beautiful looks of any motorcycle.

I really believe now we are pushing it. Obviously as extras the like spoke wheels and adjustable suspension should be made available but for a bike at 3 lakhs ex showroom , it's a bang for the buck. The traction problem you talked about really seems stupid, but I guess the company can fix it. Over all , the bike is probably the best tourer one can buy at this price , and it does seem capable enough for occasion off-road . Great video btw , kuddos. ♥️

This is not the 390 we've waited for. Seems it's the more practical version of 390,but that adv tag is just there, no true adv dna is there. And more disappointment came in the optional upgrade package, they gave all the little stuff and forget the big things like the spoke wheels, adjustable suspension (as u said). That adv spirit is lacking in this one.

I am disappointed with the low clearance, alloy rims (should be spoke),tires and low exhaust. I was expecting the adventure to be a closer setup to xpulse in that regard.. Is this meant primarily for highway and not for offroading?

6:40-6:50 🔥🔥🔥 Super filming, Power Drift should do advertising for bikes.

Definitely overpriced by at least 1 lakh. At that price ktm should be giving at least a 2 cyl engine. It doesn't matter how much power and torque the 390 engine pushes out, end of the day it's still a cheap single cyl engine. It'll never give you the sensation of a twin and make you feel good.

Powerdrift, you guys exaggerate so much that your videos have now become a cliché. It's a pain to watch, seriously!

The lack of spoked rims, laughably short distance to ground (despite the higher seat height) and ultimately, the same gearing as the Duke really make me want to look for another mid cc bike tbh. This looks a lot more like a Duke that CAN do dirt, just don't do anything other than gravel roads.

Please compare its off roading capabilities with the d400 UG

I love how the criticisms lie mainly in the offroad arena, yet during these complaints a constant stream of kickass looking drifts, jumps, rock crawls and hill climbs flow past during the voiceover...none of those antics looked anything less than fun to me!
