Having BoA and Taemin share the stage again is monumental. She debuted at 13, Taemin at 14, can't help but feel like we're watching a baton-pass ceremony between 2 absolute Icons
You know I always see 14, wondering if staff wrote that in his bios like they wrote his fav color is yellow. He doesn't like yellow. He said he was a trainee for three years and he debuted when he was 16 and in tenth grade. Probably by Korean age count which could mean Internationally 15. But he refutes the 14 years old.
@@mollidew3643 You kind of can’t make it up because his birthday is public info and so is his debut date. Unless, I guess, his birthday is faked. But it seems unlikely that they’d go that far.
This is BOA... Who debuted at the age 14 years old, while we were clueless about our lives.. she was born to sing and dance...She is always be the Queen of Kpop... She is the one who break the barrier between korean and japan, and the only one foreign artist to have three albums sell more than one million copies in Japan and is one of only three artists to have six consecutive number-one studio albums. She is the first korean Idol who performed in NYC at 2008.. the first Korean Idol who make a Hollywood debut movie in "Make Your Move 3D"... duet with Westlife, even Weezer cover Boa Meri Curi on their Japanese Album.... So please before you walk, your mother had to struggle to help you walk... the same with BOA, to make sure your Idol had a f*#king Smooth walk, she had to struggle to help your idol get there... just to make sure, your idol can shine more bright... but please sometimes you have to look back, in case you forgot on who's held your hand so you can run.... Respect BOA...
Well it was definitly necessary at mama live. Some army and blink kiddos were actually disrespecting this kpop legend. Sayig she isn't someone who is as famous as their faves, asking who she is, even goes further saying she is not wanted WHERE IS BTS? Yes bitch, they did too much this time. Those kiddos seriously need some history lessons
@@selinleman801 Haha .. Every kpop fan really understands the attitude of the two fandoms .. But I am relieved they are not in the comment section of this video ..
@@selinleman801 those dumb bitches should learn who actually paved the way, their faves were shitting their diapers when this legend was paving the way for them
Taemin proves that sharp moves doesn’t mean good dancing. Taemin is so relaxed when he dances. Also boa should teach kpop groups these days how to sing while dancing. Kpop groups live these days are a chaos
But Taemin had a sharp and clean move in kpop, used his popping to execute, his dance is like gesture but really sharp. While the other dancers always had a big move, if that what you mean...
BoA is good and all, but apart from her image of a legendary artist, objectively speaking she isn't that exceptional, there are groups out there that has more stability and quality in their voices even while performing. Taemin is a very sharp dancer, I think you're talking more about power. Like Kai has more power than sharpness when he dances.
You clearly know nothing about dance lmao multiple dance styles can coexist and just because Taemn's is different and more airy or fluid doesn't mean it's better nor does it mean that others are wrong because they have "sharp moves". Dance is centered around being sharp, clean and precise you moron.
Queen has experienced 4 generations in the kpop industry, yet she’s managed to adapt her sound and concepts as time progresses. Her dancing is still amazing and looks effortless even though she’s in her mid-late 30’s. And she looks like she’s 25. I just don’t know if she’s a human anymore.
man i still remember this stage when Taemin was basically a baby... As an older kpop fan, having BoA around still rocking (and looking stunning) is such a welcome reminder of why i got into kpop in the first place
This is proof that BoA will always be THE No. 1. She literally was already performing when some of the other artists in this award show were barely even born and can hold the stage like it belongs to her, and it does. Also, it takes a huge artist to manage not to get overshined by Taemin dancing and I literally couldn't take my eyes of her. At this point, nobody can deny she is the freaking QUEEN!
She put out her first album at 14 and had to break into markets nobody ever had. The fact that people don't even credit the level of sacrifice, courage and resilience takes and see her now being the one that raked in millions so that SM could be the company they are is so beyond me.
@@vlite7215 exactly!! that's especially the case with BABY KPOPPERS nowadays; they must realize that if not for BoA's contributions, BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS, the likes of NCT & BTS (even BlackPink) won't have been able to find any kind of success in the American market
@@AifDaimon I love BoA and I’m not just saying this cause I’m a CrAzY aRmY but BTS are in quite honestly a league of their own in terms of the American market. In Japan however BoA is number 1.

@@juliat5279 I would think so. When BoA released Only One and was performing it on music shows, SM used that duet to promote their new artists (mostly EXO members at the time). They did the same thing with Karina in Taemin's music video. But now with 20 years under her belt and a financial stake in SM, I would think it would be BoA's choice. If it were SM's choice, they undoubtedly would have chosen an NCT member for the spot.
@@juliat5279 I remember during one of the sm town show and Boa had to choose between Taemin and Sehun to dance with. Then, she let them decide on their own. At the end, both Taemin and Sehun decided who to dance with Boa over rock paper scissor.
Was it just me who cried? BoA gave up on her studies at the age of 13 to pursue this kind of career, she paved the way and until now she still is the brightest star out there
Ikr...it's only been 4 years since i've been into kpop but rather than the 3rd gen. kpop bands, I prefer all the early artists like BoA, snsd, suju etc. aside BTS
if you forget, BoA is the only reason SM entertainment still available after so many dramma and scandal. clearly a queen. I know younger fan know about EXO, Super Junior, SNSD, Red Velvet, Shinee,.. etc but before that, SM start to wellknow to international thanks to DBSK and BoA. really respect her. solo player of SM that succeed.
She is literately your idol's idol, and your idol's idol's idol. (Lol) Every kpop idol strives to have a career as strong and as iconic as Queen BoA. It's not easy to stay relevant and active in this unforgiving industry this long and still command the stage like this. She doesn't need massive views to prove her worth as a performer, because she's had 20 years to do it countless times. Long live our legendary queen.
SM is really best not just producing Talented and High Quality Groups but also an irreplaceable Solo Artists that every other artists also looked up to and respect.
BoA and Taemin are literally two of the best dancers that have ever graced the Kpop world. Neither of them is a power-oriented dancer but power does NOT equal superior skills. Otherwise Hulk and Wonder Woman would be the best dancers ever. Taemin and BoA's body coordination and overall "balance" (EXO Lay's fans all know what I'm talking about lol) is just SUPERB. It's pure satisfaction to watch their smooth, elegant execution which makes every single dance move look so effortless and EASY when that's actually not the case.
This is also my observation of BoA and Taemin. I notice that my favourite dancers are not very power-oriented, they're more groove, or exact. Sometimes they get overlooked on stage because they don't have this intense "straining all my muscles arching my back to achieve this dance move or look at me as though I'm ripping myself apart" way of dancing. Instead, they look so at ease, like a fish in water. I noticed this in most of my favourite kpop dancers: BoA, Taemin, as well as two great dancers in their own way, Kai, Hyoyeon, all from SM and then one of absolute faves, BTS' J-Hope.
@@octopu5ie Chungha and Chaeyeon really fit that description as well. Their moves are smooth and light as a feather. Chungha especially really reminds me of BoA's dance style, how effortless she makes every move look, while captivating you with her piercing gaze. BoA will always be the OG queen, nay, Empress of K-pop and that's an undeniable fact.
I don’t think you understand how happy I am seeing this BoA and Taemin queen and king together performing after some time it makes me literally scream I love them both so much and when Taemin came out to do his part the YELL I let out... Oh my gosh I love him this was perfect I LOVE YOU BOA
Can you believe that she's only 34 years old? It feels like she's been around forever and has been a legend for so long that I'm always surprised that she's only in her 30s.
BOA is truly an inspiration for so many and the reason that K-pop is successful globally. She's the first Korean singer I learned about growing up with my Korean friends. She is a cultural icon and beats everybody light years ahead. She was the first debuting abroad in Asia at a young age, the first foreign singer that tops the chart for weeks in Japan, the first million album seller abroad, the first singer that can dance and sing live at the same time and still deliver the most impressive performance, the first multilingual singer from Korea and one of the firsts in the world, the first Korean singer debuting in America and rank in billboard, the first singer whose very first album was recorded in 3 languages (The Jumping BOA album)... She's the reason SM Entertainment is where it is in the industry. Because of BOA, I became curious about Korean drama, food, culture and witnessed over the years how BOA shaped KPOP and how KPOP boosts Korea's economic development and how Korean tourism, food, merchandise, and brands going global. This music bond also blessed me with a precious friendship with my best friend that I treasure for the past18 years and counting. Despite my parents' disapproval, I decided to learn Korean shortly after listening to BOA's songs. Instead of buying snacks as a 6th grader, I saved up my snack money, hired a Korean language tutor and bought Korean textbooks and audio cassettes and learned it that way. I was learning Korean by singing BOA's songs and reading lyrics. I also bought physical copies of her Korean and Japanese albums that were imported from Korea and Japan. The original copies were not available in foreign market outside of Korea and Japan, so I had to ask people who were traveling to Korea and Japan to purchase them for me and I paid them back afterwards. They were really expensive for a middle schooler. They were like $50 USD for her Japanese album and about $20 USD for her Korean album back then in 2004. But the production quality and the physical materials of these albums are ultra high. There used to be BBS boards online to track on the movements of BOA... Anyway, you can tell from all the details that SM really puts a lot of heart-felt efforts into their album productions and for BOA's, they always use the best available resources possible for her. I also bought a BOA themed diary book that was a limited edition item from 2003. At that time I felt that SM Entertainment has a strong ambition to go global. As a middle schooler, my major hobby became watching BOA's videos and trying to learn her dance moves and sing like her. Even though I can never sing or dance like her, BOA represented hope, dreams, and passion in my childhood and teenage years and still remains my idol in my heart.. She inspired me to be better and work harder on my own career pursuits. Just like how Lee Soo Man described on many occasions and videos, KPOP changed the way people think about Korea. KPOP introduced Korea and Korean culture to the world. And it started with BOA. It's amazing how KPOP can connect people around the world and open doors for infinite possibilities. I know there are so many out there that also feel inspired by BOA. So many young people around the world want to be in the KPOP industry because of her. BOA really built a special connection because she is the real idol. The mass produced idols these days can never compete with the influence, the revolution, and the change she's brought to KPOP industry, K-culture and Korea as a nation. BOA is truly and will forever be a legend. BOA, I hope you can read this. You inspired me in so many different ways. Whenever I face hardship, I sometimes think about how hard you work to get to where you are and your music always keep me going and moving forward! I love you forever and I hope I can go to your live concert and meet you in person one day. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for being you!!! With love, A die hard BOA fan.
Damn, why you so, right? These newbies' ignorancy making me cringe all the way. Like bitch, If you don't know even BOA, how are supposed to call yourself a kpop fan? Does it even make sense that you are a kpop stan but you don't know the most basic things in kpop?
@@selinleman801 I think it's fine for babies/newbies to not know. It's only natural for them to be ignorant of legends that they haven't experienced or encountered in any way because of their lack of exposure. It's not their fault for entering into K-pop in the environment that they have. There's no need to attack kids for being ignorant, because for any fans of any genre of music anywhere in the world, it'll be impossible to always know all of the vast history that came before. That's why I hope everyone could refrain from shaming newbies for not knowing. That being said, I agree with anyone schooling youngsters who decide to be unnecessarily disrespectful of pioneers. Even if you're unaware of the legends who shaped the industry with their innovation, it's completely unacceptable to be arrogantly condescending without even reading more of these seniors just because of lack of knowledge. It's likely also due to immaturity. I'm sure that most newbies would be respectful if approached kindly without judgement, so please don't be too harsh on them. The minority who decide to be petty/crude and rude regardless, are probably shallow people who will always be toxic anyway.
People need to understand and educate themselves, if they would consider BoA of all artist a flop. There are a lot of current favs that they wouldn't have if BoA hadn't been an inspiration. I am so tired of people not understanding that longevity is one of the most powerful things for an artist.
@@tineeblusher I think theri brains are of nowhere to be found. Maybe vanished away together with pluto. I really agree with the statement longetivity, and thats one of the best slap for them. 😣
LOL. That comment always make me laugh. Most idols no matter how popular they might get will never last even half the career BoA has. popularity means nothing without longevity while staying relevant.
Her status as a founding member of Kpop, and a true Legend is already established. She has been in the industry, and killing it, for longer than their pimply @$$es have been alive. Those mindless trolls, only know how to write hateful comments, tearing down any artist other than their faves. They aren't really worth the air they breathe.
