Just got the CorkSport Axle Back Exhaust installed on my 2020 Mazda3. This is my first time doing this kind of video. Let me know what you think in the comments.
Mazda 3 hatch, Corksport, axle-back...so much goodness in this video. Mazda really needs to look back at their motorsports heritage and even their current motorsports efforts and inject that motorsports umph into their products, not just the limited market Miata/MX-5. Zoom-zoom can be found again...
My BL skyactiv is quite sporty stock. Handles great. Just wish it had more poowahh. I have the corksport intake on it, and just ordered the corksport exhaust last night.
@@frapsATV yes, I think it could annoy your neighbor. It certainly could be loud enough to hear / feel. I only know because my neighbor told me 🤣 but it does not annoy him luckily
Sounds great. Just installed the CS SRI and Cold Air Box on my 2015 sedan, lots on intake sound. I think the axle back is going to suit my audio needs just fine. I've read the cat back systems are really NVH in the cabin. I think this coupled with the intake system will be fine. Thanks for the upload. Happy money pit!
I'm super new to all of this but what is the cold air box for? I just recently ordered the sri and axel back for my'18 Mazda 3 and was wondering if the sri and cold box go together?
@@thewanderingpnut1685 according to what people say here, I reckon, you should get the cold air box as well if you’re getting the SRI www.mazda3revolution.com/threads/corksport-sri-cold-air-box.229441/
I also have a 2020 3 Hatch and was wondering if you installed the exhaust yourself or bought it and brought it into a shop? I want to mod my hatch but I don't have any knowledge about it :(
I just got my 2021 CX-5 Turbo, trying to find aftermarket mods for it like my Subaru before, and not much luck. When you got your CorkSport, did you compare to others like the Borla? Do you have any other mods done or thinking of doing? Your CorkSport sounds great, much better than stock.
It was my first time purchasing from Corksport but I knew that they’re the leading Mazda aftermarket place as they specialize in Mazda only. I did watch RU-vid videos of other exhausts but was not interested in something crazy loud. I wanted some oomph without it being a pain in my ears. Just got the exhaust mod only, I might add in the Corksport SRI myself. Thanks for watching the video.
@@CindyLee1 I like it, I am def getting the CorkSport exhaust. I am not sure if a SRI is worth it without a tune, but if anything like my Subaru it'll at least make the drive sound even engaging, turbo spooling in this case. Our new Mazda's look so sinister, but feel let down with the tire/wheel combo. I am def going to get some hi-perf summer tires on a wider set of wheels to make it more flush. You'll definitely feel a difference in the handling and feedback. Actually i'll do that before the exhaust swap... Anyway love your ride, hope you post more car mods :)
Eventually, I will get summer tires and winter tires for my car. For now, there’s no real reason for me to stop using the all seasons because they’ve got plenty of miles left on it. The SRI probably isn’t going to do much, I agree. It’s a cheapish mod though so I might do it myself for fun. Thank you for watching! Good luck and have fun, hope you like your new exhaust when you get it 😊
@@ecko80911 Hi! It drones on the highway too but it's not super loud. But it does depend on your speed, so after you hit like 50 or 60 or something, it tones down. It's a lil annoying if you're going up something steep and slow speed, we have a road here that's speed limit 35 and it goes up a moment so it's pretty steep, so for that, it's kind of annoying but it's not like I drive that road everyday. I would say it's not bad at all, especially on regular highway speeds.
Awesome! Let us know if you like yours or not and what you think. Hope you love it. Not sure what else I’d do on my car. Something easy, maybe the SRI next.
Yes, there is a sound when you’re at speed and definitely during acceleration. It is not so loud that it’s too loud but you can definitely tell it’s not a stock exhaust and it makes me smile every time 😄 Thanks for watching!
I doubt it but I am not someone who works at Mazda, and Also, I’ve not had to take my car in for warranty work. But honestly, they would need to prove that the exhaust damaged anything that’s covered warranty but I doubt they would be able to. My opinion is that… don’t worry about it. That’s just me, willing to take the risk. I think it’s fine. Or just ask your service rep at your dealership and see what they say.
Dang, so you ordered the exhaust when they were out of stock and they sent it to you anyway? I’ve been waiting for a while now for corksport to restock.
Yes but that was in Oct 2020. I just looked at the website now and it looks different than when I ordered it. Now it says “add to your wishlist”. When I bought it, it said nothing about it being out of stock or anything, until after I purchased and then I got an email or message saying it was out of stock. I imagine people didn’t quite like that so they changed their product page to show that they are out of stock and added the wish list thing 🤔🤷🏻♀️
Where can you get the Exhaust! I can't seem to find it anywhere! Also why are there so less Performance parts for this car. The Exhaust I truly want is the HKS Legal but the only place you can find it is Thailand!!!
I ordered the sri and axel back exhaust this week and they sent an email saying they're out of stock for both and it'll be about a month before they get more :(
I don’t know since I don’t have a 2021 but I will assume yes since it’s a 4th gen. However, I am unsure if it will fit a Turbo 4th gen or not. You should contact the maker (Corksport) to see what they say.
I ordered my exhaust in like Oct or Nov and then they emailed and said that they’re out of stock until April. But it came early so if you want it, may as well order it 😊 probably not going to do much else to my car. I’d like a trailer hitch though but now with the new exhaust, I’m sure sure if it would interfere with fit or not.
...interesting, remove the resonator and the drone goes away? Sounds backwards. But removing the resonator probably adds a bit of rawness to the exhaust note as well, yes?
@@K03sport I originally thought the same. But the improvement was very noticeable. Especially on the freeway. I had three distinct setups before I removed resonator. This definitely made it sound better through all removed levels. Wish I had some video for you.
It's just a bolt on thing so I doubt it but... I'm not your dealership and I've not had to bring it in for "warranty" work yet so I have no idea... hopefully not, probably not :-)
They are Rally Armour mudflaps. You can get them at rallyarmour.com - mine are the flaps specific to the car model year. They also make universal versions that are cheaper.
There is also a company called rokblokz...theirs are more rigid plastic vs the floppy urethane used by RA. So it all depends on preference - floppy or rigid 🤔
That’s normal on this exhaust, the driver side pipe after the Y splitter has a resonator or muffler (I think it’s muffler) and the right side is straight. Gases flow easier out the straight side.
