@@lisagodley4662 and why because others may not like the vehicle does that matter to you? Mitsubishi's are fairly reliable ...good vehicles. If you like it, and that must be why you purchased it.....that's all that should matter. Don't know how old you are but never go by "popular opinions" march to the beat of your own drum and you will always be happier! Case in point.....just because it's popular.....do you follow the Kardashians? Only real idiots would give a flying flip about that moronic family.
The paddle shifters are nice to have. It’s a shame they’re not as chunky (not sure if it’s still magnesium) like they were on the earlier Sports, but it’s a minor thing. Really enjoying mine.
I bought a “used” 2018 a couple months ago with around 5k miles for only $18K that’s an SE trim with 4wd. I love my car so far. The stock tires were crappy so I switched them out with a lot better tires and it made the handling better. Overall, I love this car, the engine is peppy, it has a nice tall ride, it’s a beast in the snow and I think it is gorgeous! It’s unique as well compared to most cars that all look generally the same.
When i first saw it i didn't like the rear design, that was in 2018 when they released this model here in the Saudi Arabian market for the first time, however it turned to be very nice looking design for me i dunno how and why :) i'm now thinking of buying this car that's why i came across you'r nice review of the car.
Filipino here, and I owned the 2019 FWD with the same color! And I’m loving every part of it. And believe me Blue color is a head turner!! By the way I’m here in Doha, Qatar and I hope Mitsubishi will also release Eclipse Cross in the Philippines. 🤘🏻
It’s been a month and a half since I purchased mine and I love it. I got the turbo engine and it flies. Very good gas mileage as well with ECO feature.
I own one 2wd version with quite some options and love it. The rear is growing on me and the sharp design makes it sexier than most stuff we have on the road
Nice looking car, same colour as my Tucson. While the back is different compared to others I think it looks quite sporty. I hear that the manual version has better performance. :-)
Andrew K. NI Better than Tucson. I rather have a reliable car than Hyundai defective engine -- “Hyundai, Kia reach $760M settlement over engine fire lawsuit Owners will receive cash settlements and plenty of other additional safeguards for over 4 million vehicles with the affected engines.”
People need to stop crying about petty creature comfort's. If you all that crap. Go but an alway's in the shop, benz. Their is mean to be an affordable comfy vehicle. To many petty gripes. 😔
No dude, the light up and down button is not for fog - it’s for towing ! If your trailer pushes the rear down, you want to drop your lights so you don’t blind oncoming traffic.
I've the new 2019 outlander and seeing this I'm glad I didn't ask too many questions to the seller about the eclipse cross. ( I don't live in the city )
I bought a 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SE shortly after they first came out. The styling is what caught my eye. I saw one in a parking lot and went closer to examine it to find out what it was. Mine is that diamond red with extra chrome garnishments and I absolutely love the vehicle. The window sticker on my vehicle showed $28,900. but I got them down to $23,500. So while your review quoted the list prices, which sound kind of pricey for what you are getting, a good negotiator can do much better. And just for the record while the back end may kind of resemble the Pontiac Aztek, the side and front styling couldn't be more different. So all in all I think the ride and styling are what sold me on the vehicle.....then I just had to get them down to the price I was happy with
@@brkitdwn7514 a few important points: a good to excellent credit score, no desperate need to buy their vehicle, be prepared to get up and walk away. Negotiate a reasonable deal...taking down notes of the deal..then leave to think about it, email other dealers in the area telling them the deal your currently have with _______ dealership and invite them to beat it. Never fall for "this deal won't be available tomorrow" and always remind them the car you currently have is in good condition and you really don't need their car
I own a 2wd with manual transmission. The exterior got me because i dont like the cars you see on every corner. Mine trim level is like between entry and mid level. The 163ps engine is great. The handling is still good with 16" alloys and sh*tty tyres thanks to the high quality suspensions and strut bars. Simply, when you hit the gas you enjoy. But still some investment on wheels like 18" wheels and uhp tyres is needed. After that i will consider changing the springs as well.
I’ve never seen this car in the road, maybe I did but never noticed it.. I did a test drive few days ago and I love it! Strange why it’s not everywhere like the other cars!! That somehow worries me 🤦🏻♀️
6:30 - Interior brightness control. That didn't do anything for you because that's not what the button is for. It's with the HUD controls because (from left to right) they are HUD brightness control, HUD open/close and then the HUD angle. Hope that helps. I enjoyed the review. Thank you. ...Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross owner :-)
You do a very good job on these reviews. The Eclipse-Cross looks like it will disappoint in a few areas - namely, feeling modern and feeling sporty - but at the same time it looks enjoyable to drive. Might have to test drive a 2022...
Mitsubishi is sad. Why can’t they be the company they used to be!?! This I guess makes sense for someone who needs a point A to point B SUV, but it should come at a $25,000 price point, loaded, not $32,000 +. At the price, you’re talking Forester Limited. That’s going get you more room, more capabilities, better comfort, probably better mpg, better quality, more safety tech, and a much better resale value. It seems that Mitsubishi has taken off where Suzuki left off selling cars because they will finance pretty much anyone. That being said, the overall design isn’t bad (although they could have done better with the rear end). The interior could use more pizzazz especially for the money. They have seemed to put a lot of features in there, but some odd omissions and cost saving are definitely there. Probably not going to be a big success story for Mitsubishi. Great review as usually though!
You said it well! This vehicle puzzles me. They tried to make it interesting...but it’s definitely not lol. Like you said I’d much rather go for the Forester for the money they are asking. I honestly rarely ever see one of these on the road. Thanks for stopping by as always!
Prime Autotainment Me neither. I’ve only seen a few. Although our local Mitsubishi dealer got shut down due to fraud. Lol. The depreciation alone is enough to avoid them. I watched a 2018 Outlander Sport SEL with leather and 24,000 miles on it sell for $12,000 at auction yesterday. That’s at least over half off from what it cost new.
Subaru reliability is a joke to me. My old 2004 H6 3.0 cost me thousands to keep it running. Bad crankshaft sensor, burned oil, failed seat motor, expensive tire replacements, outrageous prices for parts, headlights going out every 6 months, shitty mpg, and I only had 144k miles on it. I downgraded, got a Mitsubishi Mirage and couldnt be happier. Cut my fuel costs in half, cheap to maintain, cheap to own, cheap to insure, great simple little car.
How can someone be okay with that this car I named after one of the best 2 door sport compacts of all time. HOW. It's so disrespectful of the eclipse heritage. A cross over suv. What a time to be alive
Kerry Parks if anyone is sponsored it should be made known up front. I don’t have any sponsored videos. The manufacturers don’t ask me to say anything or say anything about each review.
The Mitsubishi Toaster. Honestly, as a Lancer owner it's so sad to see where this company went. It really shouldn't have anything to do with the Eclipse in my opinion. Great review though!
@@PrimeAutotainment Mitsubishi has completely turned their sales around since 2014. Twice winning fastest growing Asian brand. Mitsubishi is back for niche market.
Never seen one on the roads anywhere yet. I’m thinking it’s not selling or people who actually bought it not trying to be seen in this. I don’t think they should’ve called this the eclipse either. Just what the bloody hell going on with Mitsubishi and why they went this route with it? Mitsubishi was a brand that a lot of people loved and respected especially from the days of the 3000gt, original real eclipse and other gens before it got turned into such a trashy sad attempt of an suv, and the awesome lancer evo. They just did away with all the greatness. Mitsubishi now is just...bleh now.
I own a 2018 Outlander Sport, and I do like it. However, I'm concerned with the resale value. The problem with Mitsubishi, they don't make their vehicles look beefy, sexy or really cool, that's why you don't see them on the highways.
I've had my 2022 Eclipse Cross SEL w/touring package for over 2 years now and just love the vehicle. Mine is the FWD and not AWD version, and gets 32 to 33 mpg on long distance highway drives when eco mode is on while using cruise control. I recently went on a road trip through some 2 lane backroads (1 lane each direction), and was able to easily accelerate past other vehicles (eco mode off and stability/braking controls off). I do also have a 4th gen eclipse with the v6 engine, and while the 2022 eclipse cross does not have that same power of the 4th gen coupe, it does have decent pep, and the 2022 is WAY more refined than my 4th gen. The 2022 has nicer seating, better visibility, better maneuverability, a smoother & quieter ride, maps are built into the car, the BI-LED headlights are fantastic, plus has a ton of other features that the 4th gen coupe doesn't have. I do enjoy driving my 4th gen eclipse and the 2022 eclipse cross.
I definitely prefer the front but the back isn’t my cup of tea. I think that trim is well quipped but the lower trims sound anemic. I don’t like the CVT either.
Mitsubishi has way less documented evidence of premature CVT failure vs Nissan. And they both use the JATCO CVT7 & CVT8. Programming, light curb weight, low hp & torque mean everything when it comes to CVT reliability.
Hey, I got my own and my dealership gave me a price of 43,000. I was wondering if he’s ripping me off? If so what do I do about it.. (I just got the vehicle today)
I have the base and my seat was also uncomfortable, my solution is to set it Ken Block style very upright, and set the lower at its highest position so i get the most lower back support and i like it now
I reviewed one of these in the UK in my channel. All engines are the same. 1.5 Litre turbo petrol with 160 BHP. I had a top of line one to review. 4WD with 18 inch black wheels. Head up display, two sunroofs. Automatic. Drove smoothly though I thought a lack of sat nav to be very annoying. In the sat navs place was location a GPS coordinates. The touch pad is slow to use and better in rival vehicles. Anyone interested in knowing about this from a UK perspective, check out mine. I compared it against the Qashqai/Rouge Sport.
Prime Autotainment I own a brand new 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse cross LE S-AWC. I get the advertised city mpg, but highway I’ve gotten over 40+ mpg. The CVT is faster at “shifting” than most people. I got quicker from 0-60 with it in auto than I could even do in manual. The car really shines, when you take it out of eco mode, and give it a go, it will stay in the “gears” a hair longer and it keeps that little turbo right in the sweet zone. Oh and the brightness adjustment next to the hud control is for the hud brightness. The interior dash lights are dimmed or brightened with the push button at the right side of the instrument cluster. Now I’m not here to bash your review, I just would like to see someone read the owners manual before they do a review and get everything correct. It even tells you how to get the most out of the engine and CVT. It even states that in hot weather that it’s recommended to run premium fuel. I had a week in the 90’s and filled up with 93 octane and power and torque is really good. Have to remember this vehicle you can get fitted with a towing package.
Prime Autotainment now as far as hp and torque numbers I’m still researching the specs to programs into my Torque app and comparing to Dashcommand app which initially gave me hp numbers of over 230hp on a rolling start off the line.
I'm a Mitsubishi 3000GT Twin Turbo AWD 400HP owner and I bought this 2019 CUV Eclipse Cross, I have to say mitsubishi done a great job on it except the rear end, it looks unique but not nice. The engine is nice but a bigger amount of horsepower is needed, like 280HP combined with the CVT and SAWC system will make it awesome daily driver.
The more hp & torque you put on the JATCO CVT8 the more stress it has to deal with shortening its lifespan. That's why all Mitsu models are considered underpowered including my 2014 Mirage at only 74 hp and torque. Mitsu engineers would rather you get 200k miles out of your CVT than a bump in speed and power. Nissan went the opposite direction with the exact same CVT and have some serious reliability issues.
@@Hunikengt Mitsu is one of the last manufacturers in the states that offer 5speed in their CUVs. You can still get a manual for the Outlander Sport, Mirage, or Mirage G4. If you go CVT though get a Mitsu or Suzuki not Nissan. Toyota's Aisin CVTs are reliable but the mpg is mediocre.
@@Hunikengt Great purchase! You'll be pleased with its reliability. Just remember to change the CVT fluid with OEM fluid every 30k miles, this is critical in extending the life of your CVT! And be aware there's not much of an aftermarket parts for newer Mitsubishis which kinda makes the cars dealer reliant. The good news is Mitsubishi are pretty well made so you shouldnt have to worry about expensive parts for years.
yawn. another car company that now just makes cars to help you get from point a to point b. Mitsubishi used to make cars that made you look forward to going from point a to point b.
DO NOT BUY MITSUBISHI Everything that's isn't vr4 awd, aws, turbo or rwd turbo or fwd turbo from Mitsubishi that's not called galant ,legnum, gto, 3000gt, mirage, starion or evo is garbage.
We bought the top of the line 2WD (called Exceed in Australia) and love it. It's the perfect size for our small family of 3. We drive from our semi-rural neighbourhood into the city 5 days a week and some freeway driving on weekends. The trim levels and design were what attracted us to the Eclipse Cross. I personally love the rear tail light/ split window. We've been super impressed with performance and handling though it can get thirsty (we rarely use eco mode) . The CVT is better than most (sounds like old school auto) which is good considering there's no manual option for this trim level. We would consider a second one in the future.
Prime Autotainment No requests - just lovin’ all the content - I am very new to all this so it is all good to me. So exciting to see the younger generation make their way in life for us older folks. I am such a goof - that was suppose to be - no lumbar support. Autocorrect is so annoying.
Whoever designed this must have been the same idiot that designed the hideous Pontiac Aztec. Because the rear end of this cars is screaming Pontiac Aztec. Not as hideous as the pontiac but still ugly and needs to drop the Eclipse name.
I have this car In uk spec this reviewer is just finding something to say it has few faults all minor fuel is about 30 mpg if you really want the Best Buy a Range Rover
I’ve driven several vehicles in this price range and this was far from the best. Not bashing it...just being real with it just like every other vehicle I drive. If you get 30 mpg with this then you’d get 35 mpg with something else in the class.
Something tells me Mistubishi is about to head the way of Suzuki. IMO, the brand has been going down hill slowly since the cancellation of the Lancer and Galant. I can appreciate where they were trying to go with this vehicle, but a pretty package won't last long when the crap inside is exposed, e.g; lack luster power, simi-smart keyless entry and useless paddles on a CVT trans. Definitely wouldn't get a second luck from me. Nice review as always though. P.S. I just bought the '19 Rav4 Ltd.
22Kevi , I hear ya...it’s disappointing that there falling behind other brands considering what they’ve offered. That’s awesome in the Rav4!! How are you liking it so far...nice choice with the limited too 😁👍
It's awesome, I got the AWD Trim, it's missing a few extras, i.e., the Pano sunroof and JBL sound system, but tbh, you really don't need those things, unless you really want them. The standard six really packs a big enough punch. As for the AWD, I was aprehensive, but it's really not bad, I'm getting the same MPG I was getting with the FWD I traded. Only bummer is, I found out I have a nail in my tire today, so I have to get that fixed, will probably be a new tire, but I have road hazard coverage, thankfully!
Mitsubishi just moved its main headquarters from Ca to Tn and they are updating their dealerships. They are doing much better lately for sure. I highly doubt they leave the US. Now if they'd just ship us over some Triton pickups!
