I own a 2017 Nissan Murano SL. I adore my car. I thought I would keep my car for another 10 years or so, since I'm approaching retirement in that many years. I was sent an offer in the mail, of course sales in the US are hurting due to the economy, so any dealer will be willing to make a deal, right? Now, I'm thinking with no payments for the next 120 days. 0 % interest and lower car payments, that I may be seriously considering an upgrade. This SUV is gorgeous. I don't think I could be swayed, even with an offer like this, to want any other vehicle. This steering wheel feels perfect on my SUV now, so I'm not sure why the complaint on a 2020 model. But it's dependable, handles extremely well, and it's classy. I love it! Pretty sure I will be car shopping in the next 30 days - but only for another Murano!
I have a 2016 Murano Platinum AWD, and the SUV is AWESOME!! Went to the local dealership to compare the differences between my 2016 and the new 2020, and there wasn't much of a difference at all. Perhaps the 2021 or 2022 model will bring about some major changes, and he is correct, the price is HIGH for the Platinum AWD model, but it is definitely a solid and well made vehicle, and the gas mileage is GREAT!!
I have the 2018 with 6,500 mi. I have the Platinum Murano. I absolutely LOVE it. My favorite car I’ve ever had so far! Everyone rides in it and they love it! Heated and cooled seats, all the cameras, leather seats. I have the cyan red. Black Interior.
Seats are amazing I have clients in my car all the time. They don’t want to get out and even have fallen asleep! They love that they can plug in and control the music in the back!
After owning a 2018 SV FWD (destroyed when I was rear-ended and more later), and a new 2019 SL AWD, I can say that most of what he's saying is fairly accurate. The 2018 was responsive, but the SV trim was a bit lacking. The difference between trims is absolutely amazing with the comfort going to to the SL by far. The accent lighting is a nice touch, but the seat comfort is the big difference. The SV trim had standard wheels with nice and thick tires, adding to an overall comfortable ride while the larger wheels with lower profile tires being a bit rougher but more responsive in handling. The infotainment and other controls are just enough to be not overwhelming but not underwheming either. It's enough to keep my CarPlay going, with Sirius basic to keep me entertained on many 6 hour drives. I can say that the range isn't as long as I had hoped with around 450-475 miles per tank at 80 mph on an interstate, but it's better than a 2017 Ford Fusion with a range of about 350 miles with a underpowered 4 cylinder engine. Now to the safety of the Muranos. I was rear-ended at 30 while the truck that hit me was going 50+. The collision shattered the back window, crushed the liftgate, destroyed the passenger quarter panel and pushed me into another car, tearing up the front bumper and front quarter panel. After serious damage to the frame and the drivetrain, not one drop of fluid from the gas tank or anything else was released. I sustained whiplash and concussion due to the violence of the collision, but the vehicle absorbed a lot of the kinetic energy and I was able to move the car to the shoulder. I stand by this vehicle and would have given it a 93, even after nitpicking the steering wheel (which feels just right and not too thick). I plan to drive my 2019 into the ground in about 10 years. I hope at that point, self-driving vehicles will be prolific so I can not get rear-ended by a moron again.
"I plan to drive my 2019 into the ground in 10 years". That won’t happen as long as Renault/Nissan kept using that crappy Jatco CVT. You’ll have transmission problems long before you each 100k.
Am a car enthusiast and a big fan of nissan artefacts. I have never owned a car yet and hoping to own one somedsy bh honestly u are very honest in Your submissions unlike those Who just jump into conclusion by condemning to sabotage. Kudos@ Mat Masunaga #nissan
Nissan Murano - My own story in one paragraph. Absolutely loved this car , bought new in 2012. Regular maintenance, oil changes, transmission oil changed every 80 000 km New spark plugs at 170 000 Essentially zero problems until about 180 000 km At that point front suspension failed. So did the back calipers 190 000 - catalytic converter failure About $5000 in bills in 2019 alone. Sold it with 200KM on odometer for $6K Bought new Rav4H Bottom line: don’t keep Nissan cars past 170-180 Km. (About 110 000 miles) if you like your money.
Rented a Durango for 2 weeks. drove 14 hours the first day. immediately took it back for something else due to my wife and i having sore backs from the seating after the long ride, recieved a new tucson. Took this back as well and got a Murano SV, we're both definitely impressed so far with the seating, fuel economy, and overall ride of the vehicle.
Bought a 2018 MURANO SL Back in Feb and I LOVE IT,Pearl White w Black Leather Interior,BOSE AUDIO,18in Wheels and Tires Heated Seats and Steering Wheel,Reclining Back Seats,Manual Shift Mode,Tilt Telescoping Steering Wheel,3.5 V-6,Drives GREAT!!!!!!!!
Thank you for this review! I’ve been researching the Nissan Murano for a few weeks now and this is one of the best reviews I’ve come across so far..I’ve never seen the Murano compared to the Highlander in terms of cabin space.
@@JokerG16 I love em! Trying to save up to get a new paint job. I want to also get a new Murano, i just don't like the weird curves down the sides (the top of the doors) but I guess that's the style now.
I kinda beg to differ somewhat on the steering feel. I do agree that in a parking lot or tight area , the steering does seem to get a little bit stiff and bulky. However when you're out on the road and maneuvering in traffic it tends to be alot more manageable.
The armrest is not soft and will hurt your are,,,get a soft cushion cover like I did,,,I love the gas mileage at 28 miles to gallon combined 37 on the highway mpg,,,,pretty good ,,,,,,very quiet car,,,,,,,,,love it we have a 2020 ,,,,,,,
Really love the SUV but have not heard great things about Nissan's CVTs. Also the deep discounts on brand new make me wonder about resale value. That being said it looks very nice!
I’m not sure about resale value as far as selling directly to someone, but the trade in value is usually pretty good, at least in my experiences with Nissan. I trade about every 2-4 years and always get Kelly Blue Book trade value...you just have to be demanding, but realistic about the true value of your vehicle.
As for resale value, if you pay $5000 to $7500 more for a different brand, you better get $5000 to $7500 more when you sell it.. So much for resale value
I have owned 2 Muranos, still driving a 2013. I will buy a new one if they offer it with pro-pilot assist. I don't understand why this can't be had at any price but is available on many lower cost Nissan models. I'm truly baffled and getting impatient as I've been waiting several years for this feature. Does anyone know why this feature isn't available? The dealers have no answer.
I wish Nissan would kill the CVT. The V6 that comes in the Murano is way more capable. The CVT really kills the performance. I'm thankful I leased mine, I will be returning it at the end. Been dealing with transmission issues from day one.
The camera resolution needs much improvement. And what’s up with the foot brake and non folding rear view mirrors on all models? The CVT transmission is a dealbreaker for me.
Nobody pays sticker, and that goes double for Nissans. So 48k is the price you'd pay if you're an idiot. You can get substantial discounts on most Nissan models.
I find the Murano and Rogue interior to be similar in style. They are part of the last generation. If you look at the interior of the Altima or Kicks, you'll see they are vastly different. I'm sure the next gen for Murano and Rogue will be similar.
I test drove a new Rogue and Murano. I can leave my neck brace home , I had 3 cervical surgeries and in the Rogue I have to wear my brace. Not in my new Murano ! Interior in Rogue not much different than my 2016 Rogue. Stealing is smoother , but otherwise pretty close
I have a murano 2015 and i really like(d) it. I have 100k miles on it but the sad part is that the transmission started to twitch, flutter at 60k and at 100k it blew its transmission. newreplacement tx costs 5k. not worth it at that price. So it plan to keep the car for less than 50k buy it but if you want a car for life or 10 yrs this will not last.
Not covered by warranty? Bought our 2016 Murano Platinum certified pre-owned. Came with a 7yr 100k mile warranty and i added extended protection plan for 120k miles that also covers electronic related problems.
Nissan needs to change the front /grill on their vehicles, its the same on every one ,and its been the same well for years, now they need step up change it its old
We a new murano a new rogue a new pathfinder a new maxima face lift only doesn't help most of your car's and suv are outdated i hope you getting the message Nissan .
The Nissan Murano is one of the ugliest SUVs out there. It looks like a child’s toy. The only thing going for it style-wise is that it is somewhat spacious on the interior compared to some of its competition. By the way, the interior design is quite ugly too! Come on Nissan, how about a little more design elegance?
