Nice long term review Vince. My 2019 Navara has been a trusted companion for many years now. We almost have the same accessories inside and mine is stock as well, since you really cannot count some minor garnishing on the head and tail lights as well as the door handles as actual hard core upgrades. I have already gotten my money's worth and would recommend the Navara to anyone -- powerful and relatively smooth drive for a pickup.

don't forget to remove your tri fold cover when you go off-road. tri-fold covers are not meant to flex like the chasis. It will damage the seal that makes the cover weather proof.
Very good long term review sir Vince! It really made me decide easier whether to buy the new Navara or stick with the tried and tested not so old model. Good thing you mentioned that it has the same engine and the only updated stuff is the rear suspension. Hi Vince, I was hoping you can give me some insight between the Nissan VL 4x2 vs Hilux Conquest 4x2. I am planning to buy my first pick-up but i am torned between the said choices, i just feel that the conquest is to Steep considering they almost have the same price (just difference of 20k if we are talking about the 4x2 variant) but the Navara already comes with lots of safety features, leather seats, power seats etc. I guess i just don't want to be sucked by the idea na "TOYOTA KNA! IBA ANG TOYOTA". So given the same choices as mentioned, which do you think is the best choice. Thank you and more power!
If I may give my unsolicited opinion, I believe that you have already answered your question. My neighbor has a Hilux, and I own a Navara. He wishes he had my Navara especially because of the ride quality it offers for a pickup truck. The only reason why you'd pick the Hilux over the Navara is if you're going to use it for hauling heavy materials daily, but since the Navara has improved on its rear suspension for the said reason, the Hilux has almost nothing against the Navara. My advise is get the Navara, but at the end of the day, it all boils down to what personally suits you best. Test drive them both, and I'm pretty sure, you'd get an immediate answer to your query, my friend. :)
It really depends on you and what you need the truck for. If you're going for somewhat more "hardcore" hauling, i would get the Hilux but it has drawbacks like ride, short feature list, etc. If you need a dual duty truck that can be more comfortable and convenient everyday, then go Navara. But it comes with drawbacks too like the average fuel eco. Best way is to honestly look at how and where you'll be driving, then you get your answer. 😊
Thanks Guys for the input. I just really think that the Hilux lacks a lot of features for its price. You have to go for the GR for you to even get the simple perks of having leather seats and power seats coz even the 4x4 conquest doesnt have those. I cant say that Toyota has the brand equity thats why its more expensive coz Nissan is also a Japan brand with a rich automotive history. Anyway, thanks again for the input and more power!
I'm on the process of car shopping right now too and it's been months. Test drove all of my choices Navara, Hilux, Dmax. I'm fully decided that I'll get the Navara because of it's features and ride comfort.
Also on the same dilemma. Navara is definitely feature packed for the price compared to the hilux. Currently im gunning for nissan. Im just too afraid about nissan’s situation right now. Nissan made great cars until the 90’s when they started going bankrupt. I wonder if their cars are still reliable knowing that they’re still trying to recover till now.
