I feel that the 308 has been largely ignored in favour of the 3008. The 2017 facelift brought the EAT8 gearbox, and the 2020 facelift-facelift brings a digital display, but very little has changed since the 2014 launch. Its interior has polarised more people than anything else by Peugeot, because they deliberately got rid of most of the buttons from the 208 but never added piano keys to bring it in line with the rest of the range in 2017, and as you can't adjust the rear seats for more room (unlike the C4), it's not the best option for ferrying rear passengers around but would be excellent for the weekly shop or going away. It really needs some love, and I can only hope the Mk. III is designed similarly to the new 208.

I kind of like the analogue dials of the old 308 where the rev counter turns anti-clockwise for symmetry. Unfortunately there has been some trouble with the 1.2 engine lately because of the timing belt which runs in oil similar to the Ford 1.0 EcoBoost.
Same everywhere for what I know. Such a shame considering how nice this engine is. I've been driving my 308 GT puretech 225hp for a little bit more than two years now, and I can only say good things about it.
Why is it outdated?? I think even the 2014 version (pre 2017 facelift) looks absolutely STUNNING. And they have sooo many features. The best seats, best comfort, best ergonomics and best driving enjoyment in its class.
@@bigchief2331 i actually find it quite astonishing that a 2013 car still holds that well after 7 years. Obviously there is not all the latest technological options, but styling / driving wise it remains such a good car.
@@vince207 Yes, my 2015 model still gets a lot of positive attention on the roads. It's got enough tech for me. It has the blindspot monitor, auto parking, front and rear sensor, reverse camera, adaptive cruise control and that's really all I need. I don't care about android auto/apple car play and 360 camera. The infotainment is a little bit slow but not a big deal. I am going to keep this car for a long time, I love it.
Likable from the outside, nice interior design and quality but limited space inside and that awful steering wheel that cuts in half the instrument panel is a no no that deters many from buying. Still cannot understand that french insistence for that steering wheel/instrument panel combo which is an ergonomic failure and yet still is carried over to mostly all Peugeot models.
Becuase you have not driven one extensively, you don't understand. The combination of i-Cockpit and small steering wheel is genius.. more car manufacturers should be using it. It does not block any instrument panel.. you need to adjust it to suit, both seat and steering wheel can be adjusted many different ways. This is an excellent car, I daresay the best affordable hatch available.
@@bigchief2331 if it was that genius other manufacturers would have done the same(its been around in Peugeot cars for some years and not only on the latest) , however not even one has done it! If that is not telling you something , nothing will!
@@bigchief2331 this is not F1, not even Ferrari, Lambo and all supercars have such small steering wheels, if it was such a joy they would have adopted it and definitely would have had it cut the instrument panel view in half! Everybody criticizes it, all car journalists but if you like it enjoy it!
@@pkaps5799 People who own the car don't criticize it, because it's a non issue! The idiots have not adjusted the wheel and seat properly, simple as that.
