@@iliya1933 lmao yeah, I think the commentators just think to hard about what they need to say, if any of the commentators are seeing this comment then don’t think to hard about what you need to say, just think about what you see in front of you.
@@Anonymous-pl7dd Thanks for bringing the positivity back into this thread; I got really negative. And you’re probably right, although I think some of it might come from somewhat of a lack of experience in the event. I’ve definitely heard commentators say in situations like that, “Player 1 just has this on lockdown from here on out between Fake Out and Max Airstream,” etc. However, they are definitely aware of a lot, like terrain duration and avoidance strategies, so I might not be right.
@@iliya1933 no worries I just don’t want to judge the commentator too harshly, I think in that situation if I thought too hard about not embarrassing myself or something then I might make a mistake like that.
@@mic01851165 idk man, that switch into rillaboom and overgrowth into finni blew the commentators minds and actually imploded twitch chat. NO ONE considered that was an option
@@Tautautino the first one against Caleb. It was an insane opener for the players cup 2. I linked twitch since it replays chat and is more immersive, if I did it right it starts at the set, if not their matches start at around the 40-50 minute mark since they took a while to introduce the tournament that day www.twitch.tv/pokemon/v/833735410?sr=a&t=2659s
Follow Me and Extreme Speed has the same Priority, so speed would matter there, but other Priority moves (Bullet Punch, Quick Attack, etc) would be redirected.
@@juliner4036 false. Follow me is +3 priority, not plus 2. It will always go before extreme speed. The only way an attacking move can come out before follow me is via comfey and it's triage ability
@Professor Thinker I was adressing the caster who said that regieleki hit first because, even if extreme speed and aqua jet are in the same priority bracket, eleki is very fast. No big deal, but that's not true
Honestly I don't get the early forfeit. Yes the chance is slim, but this is open format tournament, so you don't have to preserve your moves / items in case for later match. Why not try until the very end, considering he still has 2 full hp Pokemons? You might get a crit or something to turn the tide. Even if you don't win you might be able to figure out the opponent's preferred strategy or maybe EV spread/ speed order. (Those information are not open) Why Wolfey prevail again and again is also because he never give up until the very bitter end.
For the exact reason you just pointed out. You preserve information of how those mons work for your team Or at least what you're going to do with them at the very least
You're right but since Wolfe used all of his Pokemons, he had a slight idea of his spreads. Meanwhile Wolfe has no idea what the spreads are of those two Pokemons. So forfeiting a losing match to get a little advantage in the second game might be a good play too.
@Professor Thinker 0 Def Rillaboom vs 252 Attack Urshifu with Choice Band takes 169-199 damage running Jolly like most Urshifu run. Only an Adamant Urshifu OHK's a Rillaboom
If wolfe maxed moltres and spectrier didn't, wolfe would have the speed adv AND would have ko'ed clefairy. bingjie maxed spectrier to try to offset the speed adv
am I the only one who'd rather listen to the battle music and SFXs instead of the dominating commentators's voice? Seems a great battle but can't enjoy the vibe to the fullest
I don’t hate Rosemary but she needs to learn how to do commentary she treats it like a reaction video There’s barely any predictions from her And whichever lucky person is put with her is carrying the show Also if she smiled a bit more it wouldn’t look like she smelled a fart every time they go back to the commentary team
@@angelotalabert4942 Aaron would be POPPING OFF every game wolfe makes an insane play. A shame we don't get to see it honestly, I really like Lou and Lee after game 1. Especially since they do possible plays and effects in commentating and not just "reactions" like here
