I just bought one yesterday. Other than tires we have the exact same quad and I'm saving this video for maintenance. Thank you so much for letting me know about the grease fittings.its probably going to be needing service in about 2 weeks as I don't actually trust dealers and their "we did maintenance" great work!!!
Great video. I would definitely recommend changing the transmission as well as the demand drive fluids at the first 25 hour mark. Its important to remove residues and metal filings left behind from the manufacturing process. You would be surprised how dark the transmission fluid will be.
Just plain thank you great video I tried every oil filter wrench in my inventory and finally called the dealership I bought mine from and I had that damned oil filter off in 20 seconds
Just paid dealer $200 for my first 25 hr service but this will help I’ll do it myself next year. Great vid. Appreciate the explanation and showing good camera work.
@@Channelofdk We used a torque wrench and had it at the correct setting, but I never heard or felt the click and just kept going until I realized I was doing it way too much. We had to use pliers and a screwdriver to get the bolt off, because the threads inside the pan were completely destroyed. The bolt itself was fine though. It sucks, because the skid plate is welded on, so changing the oil pan requires taking out the whole motor. We used a heli coil to try and repair the threads, so I'm hoping that worked. It doesn't seem like it's leaking, but I'm worried that water will still seep through and get inside.
I just bought my first Polaris at Honda east In Maumee ohio and the first checkup at 20 hours was performed , which included a oil change and checking all the other fluids and moving parts. They did replace a sheared pin on my plow the total was $352.00 and said that was for 2 .5 hours of work , seems very high to me especially since it barley had 20 hours on it.
That price is high but not much different than any other dealer you would go to. No need for the dealer on this service, unless you have too much money and too little time.
Don't forget the rear driveshaft zerk fitting. Pop off the oil check door, rotate the driveshaft by moving machine. You will see the zerk fitting, and grease it. Extremely hard to reach, have to pop off panels and footrest. It's a pain on my 21
Man, I have a 2022 sportsman 450, there is a hole on the bottom of the bike under the zerk fitting, I was able to lube mine from the bottom, no need to take anything apart !
