THANK YOU!!! 🙏🏼 you’re the BEST for sharing this - we’ve learned so much from your channel - and are in such deep gratitude! From Hay Hooks to a super fun time on ATVs… all we can say is you’re a rockstar and thank you SO much!
@@jamielange2727 Great to hear positive feedback. Do you have any requests for a video? I tried to make a video about how to go up and down an escalator but got asked to leave the building when they saw me on it.
Thank you for showing your RV John, I am so glad that you have managed almost everything in your needs. One day, I would consider purchasing and coordinating a Van based on my ability.
can you please talk about how you have a "dump" on your wheelchairs? The seats are angled up so you kind of are tucked in the chair in a cozy way... does this help you sit up and with your posture at all?
Yes, that angle is intentional ( I always called it "crunch"). By setting the rear lower, it does make you sit up more straight, makes it easier to push, makes it easier to hold your balance, puts less pressure on your backrest. The only downside is when you need to carry things on your lap and it is not level. If you have the ability to change your chair like this, I suggest you make the change to try it. The change it to be even more crunch than that and see if you like that better.
@@neemafastcat thanks so much for your reply, I am a C6-C7 quad and have horrible back pain from sitting in my manual wheelchair for 5 years with a huge slouch. I dont have any trunk control so I slide my butt out in order to get more control and due to this the pain is getting out of hand. When I am sitting in my chair I am constantly feeling like im going to fall forward and then I slouch so and my back pain begins immediately.. only solution I have not tried is a wheelchair dump or crunch as you call it so I have an appointment tomorrow with my wheelchair technician and im going to see if he can let me test the "dump" to see if it helps me stablize + relieve my back pain
I was looking to get a Can-Am spider. I have cerebral palsy wheelchair dependent. I would need some kind of rack that I could put my folding wheelchair on the back of the Can-Am spider somehow because the trailer wouldn’t be an option for me if you know anybody or have any ideas of any kind of Rack for a folding wheelchair I’d be interested. Thanks for your time.
You’re literally the only video on the Internet that explains any of this stuff. The rest of them are dumb two minute videos with music and other stupid stuff added thanks for your time.

In the MyLaps Connect It says Race key Defect I have bought a subscription but whenever I go to my Laps connect it says RaceKey Defect the first light is green middle is orange and the end is flashing red any idea if I can fix this?
That is a failed Race Key. See if you can borrow a key from another racer or contact mylaps to see if that transponder is still under warranty. If you have kept a subscription going, Mylaps will replace it with the new TR2 for free.
Hi John, great video. I'm new to paraplegia and find your videos excellent for someone to learn from. What is the wheelchair your in during the video. Any preference of titanium and carbon fibre?
Glad to hear the videos can help you. In the video, I am sitting in a Quickie Q7. I do not have a preference of Carbon Fiber or Titanium. I usually go for anything light weight that I like the look of and that has some adjustability so I can make it a perfect fit. If you have to tear down the chair often to place it in your car, then you may want to make the weight a priority.
Three Red Lights are an indication of a failed Race Key. You can try to use a different USB cable but 90% of the time, this indicates the Race Key has failed. Have to borrow a race key from another racer to get through the race.
At the time of this video, that reverse trike was from Tilting Motor Works, but has now been sold and re-branded. The problem with Tilting Motor Works is that you have to turn off the bike and the balancing system off after you are done riding. When you do this, you have to put the bike on the kickstand and a crip like me is not able to do that. Bike has a chance of falling the other way when you turn that TMW off. If TMW could make it so the bike is balanced (stiff) when turned off, I would have done TMW. That was not an option.
Hi, From Melbourne, Florida.. I really liked your video, you gave a really good explanation of both chairs. Some features of the chairs and their weights. I’m really glad you added the cost or price in with your video. I’m retired & a little older than you. I have neuropathy and it’s getting just a little worse. I’m kinda new to wheelchairs, but I think I’m looking for an ultralight wheelchair that I can use a smart drive with. I would like to take it on an airplane with me. I sometimes fly several times a year. Do you have an opinion about the Smart Drive Power Assist. Do you or anyone else have any opinions and what I’m trying to do or advice…. Thanks from everybody and keep up the good videos. I always liked lots of details..
Being that you travel a good deal, I would suggest to keep the chair to a minimal width. Do not get more than 2 degrees of camber. Getting on and off planes and in and out of public bathrooms and stalls, you will want to keep your chair as skinny as possible. I have no experience with Smart Drive so I cannot offer any advice on that subject.
the weight info is wrong. Horribly wrong. 2.1 kg min. for the chair is just half of what you claim. Wheels are more difficult to tell, as they can be customized. But if you take the lightest options, you are at 6gk and some grams for the panthera x.
Dude that’s freaking impressive. I’ve been paraplegic for 8 years tomorrow!! No idea if I can this transfer off. Doesn’t help that I have really bad spasticity extremely bad.
Ha, yes, you are missing that the mower always stays at the deck. It was only taken out to show the loading deck. Same as how that skid steer is parked there, that is where the equipment stays. When it is time to mow, I transfer onto the mower, chair stays on the deck, till I am done mowing. Park back at the deck and hopefully the chair has not blown off the deck.
possibly. It looks like the inner threshold goes way into the vehicle when the lift is at floor level, like a large chair wouldn't clear the threshold?@@neemafastcat
@@DonaldMoser-mp6gl Yes, it does on this lift, but really, you can use the other model lift that does not go into the vehicle like you see on my RV here, it only goes up and down, straight up, straight down. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cnpUMh5Yb1k.html
My race key is blue while plugged into computer while trying to reload my subscription which I already paid for. Not allowing me to activate the transponder, no idea why the race key isn’t reading 😊
Right, and that was my first choice because I wanted a leaning bike for turns. The problem with that bike comes when you are done riding. The balancing system has to be turned off and the bike then leaned over onto the kickstand. That is the part I could not do as it is a very heavy bike. Also, to much chance of the bike laying over the wrong way once I turn off system. If that bike would default to balanced, that is a good option.
You did your homework. Very hard to find a promaster or transit that is designed for the disabled person to be the driver with room for passengers. I have been looking for over a year now and my ideas were almost identical to yours but every dealer told me it could not be done. You truly designed a van that should be sold as you designed it. Is there a way to reach you as i would appreciate your insight as i try to have a similar van built.
hey thanks. Everyone told me it could not be done like this too. You can go to tracksidesoftware.com and click the Contact Us at the bottom to reach me
Most all CAT will have Pilot Controls (that is what you need). Most Bobcats will need to use your feet unless it says SJC Controls. I highly suggest TRACKED instead of WHEELED for the machine. If you do not need a full cab with door, then get open cab as it will be easier to get into. Just check out the amount of space you have and the things you have to grap ahold of for the transfer. First transfer or two may be rough but you will get it.
Hola.
Hello friends out there! Im are a Panthera x user in Sweden. Yes the Panthera x is not cheap, but after 2 years of use it, my strongly recommendation is, if you can afford it, buy it! Simply as that! From Peter Eriksson Sweden Europe 😊😊😊!
Absolutely brilliant! Also a great presentation, John. Thanks! My wife is a C5-6 quad and we're looking at RV conversion ideas. Great set up! Thanks and safe travels. :)
I'm confused. If you have a problem keeping your balance and got backrest to help with your balance, why would you want the bike to lean!??! Please explain.
When the bike does the leaning, your body stays the same on the bike and no trunk muscles are needed. Therefore, you are able take turns much faster and with more stability.
Nice! I'm buying a house that had 2.5 acres, and I'm looking into how I can mow my yard, and I like your system here. I think this will work for me too.
