I love the physical buttons !

You say, the Macan is old because of the gauges and the buttons....That is what makes the Macan BETTER!

I am loyal to the Porsche brand and recently made the choice between the Cayenne and Macan. I do like sporty cars and as my fun car i have a boxster s, so my daily driver was a choice between Macan S or the Cayenne. I drove both and the Macan just feels way more sporty, the shifts on the PDK are crisp and the handling of the Macan is way more car like. Dont get me wrong, the Macan is NOT a sports car, it is a luxury suv with a sporty feel and look. With regards to the center console and the buttons, i like the buttons better, may be not as futuristic buteasy to operate and you dont see smudges on the touch screens. For me back seat space is less important as occasionally i have back seat passengers. In the end the dollars play a major role as well. All around the Macan is a better buy and better looking in my opinion.

I own a 2019 Porsche Macan S. Bought it brand new. I'm also 6'2". Absolutely love this car. A few things I want to mention. I'm trying to get a handle on the "older technology vs. the new technology". I assume you're basing your opinion on the digital buttons vs. mechanical buttons. The Macan received a facelift in 2019. So whenever Porsche does a facelift again, the Macan will only be one year behind the Cayenne based on current cycle. The center console screen performs identical in both cars. They use the same exact processor. Not sure why you're saying it's faster in the Cayenne. I love the mechanical gear shifter and buttons as I know most Macan owners do. The only reason why the auto industry is going to digital touch is because it's cheaper to produce. Nothing we can do about it but voice our opinions.

Physical buttons in Macan were a big reason I bought one. Love it.

I've had the latest, facelifted Macan S for a year now. It's a great all-rounder - fast, well planted in the bends, reliable and luxurious.

Great video!!! I tested both and went with the Macan S. My kids are grown but I have a granddaughter and I really felt comfortable in the Macan. Even though the Macan is smaller, I didn't really feel the difference in size in the front two seats; based on size though, the Macan seemed a bit sportier. As far as technology, I loved the buttons since they look cool and they were laid out in a logical configuration. Thanks for the review!!!

That would have been fine 8 years ago but RU-vidrs are now so sophisticated that if you want to grow your channel you MUST get your audio together. I’m very happy with the original design on my Macan 2015 S. The Macan is by far the best ‘do it all car’.

Just got my new Macan S and it's a perfect mix of sport and utility, providing you don't have huge needs for people of size in the back but can if need be. The Macan was a perfect fit for our needs with a ride of a sports car and confort of a family luxury vehicle with power to spare. The Macan is the 911 with a taller stance.

Before buying a Macan, check out the oil leak videos because of the aluminum engine bolts. Sometimes Porsche does the stupidest things.

I have the new cayenne, but i also have drove the macan too. Cayenne is way more luxury, comfortable and spacious, Macan has more sports car fun, way quicker on the gas pedal, i tried to lower the driver seat to the lowest point, felt like in a cayman on the highway .

Telling me I have 27 cu ft of cargo space really doesn't tell me much. Can I put 4 passengers and have enough trunk space to lay down 4 sets of golf clubs in either of them?

I have the base Cayenne and when I took it in for service they gave me a base Macan as a loaner. There is no comparison between the ride quality. The brakes in the Macan feels slow and it has 100 less hp to begin with. Cayenne sits way higher and the driving dynamics are much better.

Good insight on both cars and review of interior space. I love the Macan for it's sporty handling and pdk transmission, but I already have a 911 4S and Cayman S for my sports car thrills. For our family needs we ended up with the Cayenne S because we needed the extra cargo space for home depot runs, occasional furniture pickups, wife's crazy shopping, hauling gear around for music gigs without putting rear seats down, hauling 5 people comfortably, and the extra towing capacity for the occasional camping trip, motorcycle, boat, or race car trailer. The Macan is great, but really cramped in the back cargo area with the rear window raked so steep and limiting how high you can stack things without putting the rear seat down. Another big issue is that my wife likes to feel higher up while driving. Gives her a better sense of safety and security in the Cayenne vs the Macan. Part of me goes back and forth because I like sporty things to drive. If I wanted a sporty daily driver then the Macan is a no brainer. If you want more comfort and hauling compacity, then the Cayenne is the no brainer. Both are great and wonderful cars. Just be honest about what your needs are. They both are a Porsche and come with Porsche quality and handling. One is not better than the other. It's really a personal choice about what you value the most in a car at a particular phase in your life.

Macan has clutches, Cayenne has a torque converter. Macan gets the win.

James, it's Ma-chan, not Ma-khan. The Ma sounds like cellist Yo-Yo Ma or Mama mia. The Can sound like Cha cha cha, Channel etc. The Macan is Indonesian for Tiger found in the Pulau Macan - Tiger Island - Java Indonesia.

Seemed a little biased from the start. Macan is a different vehicle. Its smaller and more nimble with the PDK!

All Those buttons work all the time bring back real buttons! who wants to mess with touch screens while driving 70 and 80 mph on the highway sometimes they just don't work like your your phone screen it doesn't work plus they get full of fingerprints and looks like crap.

After owning 2 cars with air suspensions in the past, I always AVOID them from now on. Total headaches.

Macan is built in Germany, Cayenne is not. Macan has PDK, Cayenne is sequential auto. Macan wins.

I have had heads up display now for 4.5 yrs on my BMW. I love the Macan S, but HUD is not an option. Once you experience HUD, you will miss not having it. I believe Cayenne offers it as an option so I will have to go with the Cayenne.

You forgot to add that ONLY the Cayenne is available in a plug in hybrid for those that want a luxury SUV but saves on gas. One guy in my Cayenne group has been getting 102mpg with his plug in hybrid Cayenne
