I love that they still have the buttons, not a fan of the new touch screens. The Macan seems to be as near to a sports sedan as a CUV can be.

"...part of the must have $1300 Sport Chrono package..." and that's where they (Porsche) get you; the packages. Items that one would think would be standard on a 50k/60k/70k+ vehicle are not and soon, your 50k turns into nearly 70k. Love the cars, but don't love how fast the price balloons, even with simple and minimal enhancements to make the driving (experience) just a smidge better. Even the Boxster is a bit ridiculous nowadays. A la Carte pricing has it pluses and minuses. Ahh, the "price" of being one of one.

Yeah. Porsche pricing gets unreal once you start adding the litany of options they offer.

This is why they say every Porsche is a unique vehicle due to the combinatorial ways one could option their car. I think the Audi SQ5 or Q5 PHEV is a good in between in terms of in between for value/money and simplicity of trims/options

I just ordered same color and rims but black leather Premium Plus page. Car is very nice, but yes it’s a bummer that it doesn’t have wireless charging, other then price the are no reasonable complaints, but even then it’s one of most affordable Porsche you can get and it’s higher class then Audi. And Audi, BMW and Mercedes are in the same luxury class, so Porsche stands over luxury and just below exotics.

Porsche doesn't stand behind the quality of their vehicles. Transfer case on my 2015 Macan S has failed twice now in only 27,000 miles. This is a known issue which caused Porsche to extend their warranty to 7 ys. Their "improved" transfer case lasted only 2 years 2 months and 9,000 miles. I am out of warranty by 6 weeks and Porsche turns their back on problem and sticks me for $3,200 repair. Don't buy a Porsche w/o extended warranty for entire length of time you expect to own it. #1 rated warranty company - Endurance - won't even sell coverage on Macan. That should tell Porsche and all potential buyers something. Customer experience is far from an expected premium car brand experience.

I have always been afraid to test drive a car like this, for fear that the experience would hook me and I’d go home and just decimate the kids’ college funds in order to have one. Would that really happen?
