Great film, crazy seeing sheep brown in the flats like that, ours are always way up in the timber in the steepest nastiest country you can find. Congratulations on a beautiful ram.
Daniel Beaudoin you just call whoever put it on probably fish and game or maybe some other organization and tell them you shot the ram and they will say okay thanks will you please send us the transmitter
First, congratulations I am legitimately happy for this guy. However, as a person who has NEVER hunted sheep, if I am ever fortunate enough to draw a tag for one, should I expect to be able to walk upright directly at one to a point where I get a shot at 50 yards? That was the craziest part to me, and I am actually curious how that worked out. Not being an ass...just amazed haha.
You realistically can't shoot beyond 60 yards (even in this wide-open terrain) so the goal is always to get that close- but the typical 'challenge' with Bighorn is the terrain they usually stick to. His reaction says it all after the shot- Rams rarely dip into flats/valleys/cols they're usually a pretty decent scramble up the side of a mountain.
