I also live in Korea bro. Yes Hyundai or Kia can make a pickup truck and they are already making one. But, it's not gonna be a full sized pick up and rather would be similar to Honda Ridgeline. But it's only gonna be sold in North American market. The reason why they don't make or sell pickup trucks in Korea is because, not so many ppl are going to buy one. Still, pick up truck is considered as a work truck in Korea. So, not so many ppl will open their wallet for a truck that costs more than 40,000$. Look at the Chevy Colorado. It's not a strong seller in Korea is it? The only reason why Rexton Sports is a steady seller is because it's cheaper than other similar sized SUVs. Also, those full size trucks are too big for Korea. I'm not saying that it's not drivable. Just saying that it is not gonna be convenient for driving. What about the mpg? Gas price is much more expensive in Korea compared to US. How many ppl would be able to afford all the gas that 6.7l cummins or 6.4 Hemi eats? Finally, the life style. Some ppl in US lives a life that needs a truck.(Of course some... they just buy one to show off) But in Korea, how many ppl do you think 'need' a truck in their lives? For ppl who need a truck for work, they can buy Porter or Bongo. That's way more convenient and cheaper for them to drive, maintain, and purchase. For those people who really really want such trucks like Ram, F series, or Silverado, they can just import one directly from US.
