Thanks for the very informative, well-articulated, and engaging review. I have been trying to find the best harness for my border collie, and your review has been very helpful. And thanks to the lovely Timber (or is it Timbre), too! :)

We've had the front range for two years, last week my dog showed me she could slip out of it really easily at any time (she didn't want to go into the vet office). So now we're going to try the new 2021 switchpak which has pockets and a stomach strap like the flagline/webmaster.

Really like the metal buckles. Those black plastic ones have a tendency to become brittle, or lose one of the male fingers. Not to mention if your dog gets hold of the harness, he/ she could chew it up. Just the same, thank you so much for demonstrating how to extend and adjust the straps. I can never figure them out. Excellent video. Would love to see you demonstrate which Ruffwear harness with front attachment would best fit an Italian Greyhound. They, and the other sight hounds have an odd body shape. Very deep narrow chest, thin waist, long, thin neck, long body. Italian Greyhounds usually weigh 11-15 lbs, but due to the age and health of my husband and me, and the skittishness of our dog, Twigs, it’s very difficult to walk him. So he weighs 24lbs, 24” girth, 19” waist, 12 neck.[ They are also prone to trachea collapse] I was under the impression harnesses cause a dog to pull, but these Ruffwear people seem to have conquered that problem. Looking forward to getting a harness or two, once I figure out type and size. Great looking product. They appear to be made with something which seems to be fast disappearing- craftsmanship.

Thank you for the wonderful comparison of the different ruffwear harnesses. The visual fitting of them was super helpful. I just purchased the flagline yesterday and wasn't sure if it was our best option. However now that I found your video I'm confident in our harness decision. I can't wait for them to get here. Also, your harness model is such a handsome sweet pup! Thanks again for all your helpful information

I am also interested in the Flagline. I have a Houdini Chihuahua who got out of his Joyride on a walk last night. Scared the daylights out of me.

Hi from the UK😊 Thanks, that was a great overview, I'm going for the Front Range for my English Springer Spaniel. Will for sure be making use of the front clip! Lol. I was unsure with it only being nylon, but it does indeed look to bell well stitched. Are they as strong as they look?
@thepawdlife5633
@thepawdlife5633 3 года назад
Hey there in the UK! Seems like a long ways away from Oregon where we are currently! So the stitching and the quality is is good as a come. Obviously everything has a strength limit, So you may want to take that into consideration! But I find it highly reliable. Have a great day hope you get outside with your trail dog soon.

I like the flagline but a lot of the reviews stated that it doesn't stay put and rides up. Several of the reviewers said they preferred the webmaster. Not sure which I'll get yet. I have a 6 year old English Shepherd with a bad rear leg. She's a very furry beast. She's very well behaved and doesn't require a leash. But we are going on vacation and bringing her and I need to be able to help her in and out of the truck. I'd like to leave it on her even when we aren't using a leash so I want it to be cool because we are going to Florida in 3 weeks. Of the 2 which would you recommend for comfort and a little help in and out of the truck. Also, her chest is 31 1/2 if I compress her fur and she weighs about 65 pounds. Not sure if I should get a medium or large/extra large. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

how do you make sure the stomach strap isn't too tight as their body moves, like when they sit and their belly expands etc?

Great video, I have "houdini" mini golden doodle who has backed out of every harness, wondering if the Web Master or Flagline harness with that 3rd strap would help......HELP!!!!!!
@thepawdlife5633
@thepawdlife5633 3 года назад
I really think it would help you! You’re able to make the fit comfortable yet secure. I’m not sure how a dog could back out of all those straps. Plus I left my dog by those harnesses quite a bit and it never feels like he could possibly slide out of them. Proper fitting is key. Houdini! Ha ha Ha

It’s super handy for him. His hips are wearing down, so it helps me give him a boost when we’re scrambling rocks or just getting in/out of the truck!

@@thepawdlife5633 Thanks... Our 4yr old collie x kelpie inherited our last dog’s webmaster which is now showing it’s age (must be nearly 20yrs old...and has spent most of its time out with me working as a mountain leader... still sound but colour faded) so we were trying to decide between the two... the webmaster is pretty indestructible... was checking that the flagline is holding up and the belly strip not rubbing or getting worn / scuzzy... our dog has the same colouring as Timber (white dog in the mountains...lol... what were we thinking! Good job he likes to swim!) so we’re wondering if the tummy strip keeps him a bit cleaner. Considered good Webmaster Pro but flagline looks a good option... metal buckles on WMpro might be a bit more hassle for quick walks... have had both dogs on steep ground with plastic buckles with no concern...could always use rope to improv a doggy harness in emergency... much as I would love to train him up as a SAR dog, I’m getting a bit past it and he’s scared of loud noises...so no chance of getting him in a chopper. Lol!... So flagline looks good.

What do you do with all the loose webbing after adjustment is done?
@HeySteph07
@HeySteph07 Год назад
You put them inside the harness, there’s specific places to kinda hide them and don’t put ours dogs at risk with the loose webbing. 🤍

Should I have to adjust the front range in order to take it off the dog? I just bought this, but needed to loosen the straps in order to get it over her head.
