Take six year package, which works out very cheap. And hassle-free. Old days of costly maintenance are over long back. Moreover, Skoda cars are far more sturdier than from Maruti, Hyundai or Honda.
@@ankit55ahlawat there are owners of this car, they show the service bill of this car at third service, do you know how a car has to be service? Mostly at third service, almost all running parts replaced, and any issues will have to be looked at and solved, just check the service bills of vw polo or skoda in RU-vid also, you will find plenty and they are in large rupees.
@@subodhmathur1047 yes Skoda cars are better than those tin cans, my only grind and whining about this car is maintenance cost, if they manage to cut down this, it would be sweet, the other person above said rs 8500, this is also costly for a petrol engine car. I've seen people paying much more than this in just a third service alone.
Nice straight forward review, good speaking style. Looking forward for more such drive reviews ! Skoda Rapid being such a old design, suddenly emerges as best VFM car especially in the Rider variant with TSI engine.
We can't expect any futuristic product in petrol or diesel segments considering the current situation, companies won't do good amount of investment into R&D. All manufactures are trying to make the product using their current platform, same like Maruti does, they take X,Y,Z components from their old model and make another product and market it as brand new! and trying to fool customers. Or merge with abroad companies and introduce their modes in India. This way VW & Skoda are really doing good job as they are at least introducing TSI their world class engine in affordable price in India. Their new platform MQB A0 IN, as part of their India 2.0 project, will be introduced by 2021.the current models will be a stop gap arrangement till new launch.
Hi, thanks for the detail review for almost all variant of rapid, I decided to go with rapid now, buy struck with finalizing the variant is it really wort to out 2.3 lac extra for onxy (or) ambition when compared to rider..?? Apart from multi information display we can change everything after market right..?? Can you please give your suggestion to take a final purchase decision.
You can have a look at the new Rapid Rider plus variant. Another thing you can't change aftermarket are the power window buttons. On the base variants, you only get front power window controls on the driver side.

You should tell how it performs before turbo kick. Is there any engine stalling then ? 1 tsi before turbo kick will be quite powerless, is it what you feel as well ?

Bro you cannot compare it’s diesel engine with this new 1.0 Tsi turbo petrol. The diesel one is very very puncher you ll love its push specially in a drag i own a skoda rapid 1.5 tdi cr mt from last 6 years and its just amazing
Figo 1.5 TDCI = Better Performance ( low end torque) and Handling + Excellent Mileage + Pocket friendly maintenance + VFM in the segment. Rapid 1.0 = Segment Above + Good Performance + Decent mileage and maintenance + VFM in the segment. Both great value for money family car .
No start stop button on top spec , rapid design also looks dated now , some cosmetics changes should have been done outside and inside as well in order to compete with stylish city and famous verna ...
Q1, What is the mileage in City bumper to bumper traffic and mileage in highways above 120kmp speed ? Q2, 1.0 TSI or 1.5 TDI which is good ? Q3, When can we expect Diesel engine from VW group ?
1. In city traffic you can expect somewhere near 12-13kmpl. I don't know why are you asking mileage for speeds above 120. 2. There won't be any more new Diesel engine cars from VW. Atleast not for a couple years.

The Style Rapid variant is costlier than the SX Verna.. It also isnt as mordern and doesn't get even Sunroof n other features in them!.. Not sure whether the Rapid is competitive enough as on 2020.. Also there is the VW Vento with same engine n slightly cheaper price which makes it a better option than the Rapid..
Check the rider variant sir. The basic variants of the Verna, ciaz, City don't offer so many features on their base variant. The Verna doesn't even offer rear adjustable headrests even on the SX variant.

Beleno, hyundai i20 or even ciaz interior looks much cheaper with hard plastic which start buzzing after 2 years, at this price point it's top notch in terms of build and finish... only maintanence is higher, i would pick this anyday than those overpriced Maruti and hyundai toys
@@rishikausshik00 hi vipraajesh, why don't you make a ride review on creta diesel automatic with torque converter unit? Can you please go over the technicalities, like gear shifts, mileage, how is it to drive to , is it quick enough to respond to throttle inputs , is it as fun as manual, compare it with DSG gearbox if possible, is torque converter unit, the way to go for india ? Or dsg has an edge , coming to its city usage like inching forward requirement, and durability of dsg mechatronic unit.
i have also taken the test drive. but to be frank i dint like the new engine. comparing to the old petrol engine its noisy and has noticeable vibrations. yes its have torque but on a climbing stop and go position the engine is struggling may be auto gear box can solve that issue.. but after 20-30 km we get a good punchy feel. one thing is to mention if u always drive in city just expect a mileage of 11 km if you are in highway for a long something like 200-300 km u can get 18. if you are in both highway and city mixed expect an mileage of 13 km.
And also maintenance cost is an issue, I have seen people showing service bill of Rs 30000-40000 in third service alone, this is too much for a petrol vehicle, imagine fourth and fifth service, they will charge nearly lakh rupees. Although, the cars alone are good.
@@STgauss3268 now they have 6yr maintenance package. So effectively it becomes 11000 per year for 6 years. It might come down as they are localising more now
@@STgauss3268 ya there is a package for first 4 service 30000 rs. 15000km intervel in every service. but that is not a deal breaker owning a premium brand its ok to spend for maintenance. But the engine is not good when compared to other engines like Ford ecosport 1.0 turbo or hyundai venue 1.0 turbo.
Things start falling apart in Skoda cars after 5-6 years and their after sales is enough to ruin the brand (check team bhp Skoda threads). Honda City is better as an overall package.

This will help you understand and appreciate whatever I mentioned below much better. Now..If you want to feel and experience “Engineering Excellence!” in each and every aspect of the car including driving dynamics, high speed stability, crisp steering, lightning fast response in emergency manoeuvres, suspension. seating, cornering, handling, ride quality, comfort, Elegant Luxurious Royal Looks. braking, build quality, chassis and suspension set up, Engine and Transmission performance, Safety and everything which a car should and must have especially in Indian roads both in cities and highways just buy the Skoda Rapid. You name it and Skoda Rapid has it! “SKODA RAPID IS GEM OF A CAR WITH SHEER ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE!” I am a Mechanical Engineer myself and if someone knows Engineering or at least Knows about Cars he will understand what I am talking about after driving the Skoda Rapid. Skoda is one of the oldest car manufacturers in the world and no one can even come close to the performance of Skoda Cars. I have myself rejected Honda city, Verna and all other bullshits including ciaz and Yaris and chosen Skoda Rapid because of the above. What I said above is by self experience. Summarising if you like driving, performance, safety, build quality and handling buy Skoda Rapid or Volkswagen vento. If you like electronic gimmicks and want to be in the back seat buy Honda city or Verna. But before buying any car just drive the Skoda Rapid once, just touch it’s body once and as I said above if you know Engineering or at least driving you will choose Skoda Rapid only as no one can even come close to German Engineering with European Build. Analogy: Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento are like iPhones which you have to experience to know rest all are cheap androids with gimmicks and nothing else. Any questions feel free to ask me. Honda City, Verna, ciaz and Yaris are good for city only and that too if you sit in the back seat. If you love driving and highways trips just go with Skoda Rapid or Volkswagen Vento. Along with city driving and very long highway trips I have done such off-roading’s with my Skoda Rapid as well which any other car in this segment can’t even imagine! Thanks!
