It's an enthusiast's car so stop bashing it with verna and honda city's technology! Enthusiasts don't care about what common city commuters think!! Quality over quantity. 1.0L TSI is also rev-happy with good pulling power! German Tech, Engine and Build quality enough for keeping owner happy. Service packages makes it VFM (for rider variant)
You are correct, however you forgot the most important point for cars when buying it in India. Safety rating. Drivers don't follow rules mostly in my area in Delhi and hence a good safety rating matters for me
True! the TDI range has always been the best in VW range. and the 1.6/1.5 TDi were the pick of the lot. Had driven petrol vento and Rapid Diesel. Diesel was so much fun to drive. But sadly I dont see the TDi coming back, not atleast to the lower range of the VW group.

You guys do a great job. Here's hoping for more 2020 reviews. A man is greedy! :P I have always had a soft spot for the Rapid, it has always appealed to me more than the Vento for some reason. I think Rapid had a small edge over the Vento when it came to dynamics. Me being a diesel guy, will surely miss the fun TDi and its efficiency. But this seems to be the new norm. But what I am really excited about is the rider variant. At that price point with a TSi and the size of the Rapid, it makes so much sense. You do get ACC and power windows, I think the only missing thing would be a good android auto/Apple car play compatible infotainment system which could be easily sourced from the after market and are usually better than what OEM units are. I think this should attract more buyers to the Skoda.

Well, gr8 review, but I think it is drivers car so rear space is not an issue as many would select this car only for sheer driving pleasure. But still TDi badly missed.
I like it. But my problem is that the car length is 14.5 feet.its difficult to turn from road to my home. the width and the price i am very much happy.but I m confused now i m planning to buy honda amaze petrol cvt its 13.1 feet in length. and Width as same as skoda or wrv cvt its only in the making process. In skoda length 14.5 feet if the upcoming amt petrol 1 ltr wil b in 13 feet and lesser in width below 5.7 feet Most of the indians wil buy skoda only i think becoz we use a car in city traffic conditions and highways.
I don’t like the Infotainment system of Monte Carlo looks aftermarket 👎🏻. I like the infotainment of regular version with physical buttons. 10:03 Onyx in Blue.
Yes we are paitiently waiting for a car from Nissan. Latest word is next month maybe. All manufactureres are facing registration and logistical issues due to Covid 19. Stay tuned.
Automatic is on the cards it will be available from August or September. It won't be a dsg tho, it will be a 6 speed torque converter because DSG doesn't do well with low displacement engines

@@sanusayantan polo is rather good if you are looking for a second hand car...but for first hand check the ivtec engine of jazz and you may modify it futher if you need ... Ivtec is just crazy ...it pulls straight from even 950rpm straight upto the red line....and best part it is extemely relible...ofcourse polo has good build but jazz isnt bad either
problemHi Sayantan Das, we have reviewed the Polo TSI as well, unfortunately we couldn't get the car long enough (Covid 19 problems at the factory) for a video review. But we have managed a RT and that should be up on ZigWheels.com soon (in text format). It's much of the same, with less boot space but a bit of a lower (berrer in my opinion) driving position.
@@playbackmusicmix2913 hey. The ivtec 1.5 which comes on the City is amazing, one of the best to be frank. But the 1.2 iVtec which comes on the Jazz is not a great driver's engine. Sure it is reliable but is surely underpowered. If anything which can be compared with the new TSI, it will be TDCi of Ford or the GDi of Hyundai which will also be featured in the new i20. But, given by the rave reviews and the fact that the engine has won global awards, it simply makes sense to go with this one.
Hey sorry i wasn't very clear. I was using the equation as a figure of speach really. What i meant was when you hear that an engine has dropped so drastically in size you expect a big loss in performance. But the feeling that the engine gives is much more emotive than what the numbers would suggest. Maybe if i used the word 'felt' instead of 'sounded' it would have been less confusing.
@@narendrav5292 its not a NA engine mate. It is a turbo which has turbo lag. It is a rocket after 2200. That is why it is fastest car in its segment with 0-100 in less than 10 seconds
I test drove it.. also booked one.. it's a rev happy engine.. so even if turbo kicks in at 1750rpm u don't feel the lag because engine easily reves quickly to 2k Rpm
Dont buy skoda, dont believe me, search skoda engine problem on youtube. Inspite of being in such low numbers on indian roads lots of engine issue. Every other car is maruti, least engine problems, thats japanese engine. Dont believe journalists they are told to speak less bad.
Don't buy skoda. Worst service of skoda guindy workshop, chennai. They are the real day robbers. I gave my skoda rapid for clutch replacement on 17.03.2020 in a superb air conditioner working condition. on 06.07.2020 the robbers told that a/c is not working & cheated me RS : 20000-.
I don't know why would anyone buy this decade old car , rather than buying other alternative new cars in the segment,( for example the Honda city or the fabulous verna ) , to me to this date i think the rapid is too long in the tooth and i would suggest everyone who is looking to buy it , pls avoid it and check in the Hyundai verna turbo 1.0 or the city v tec which are overall better car ..
Many reasons! 1. For the love of driving. 2. Best in class engine. Think of an engine which does a 0-100 in less than 10 seconds. The Verna with its cautious DCT does the same in more than 12 seconds 3. Superior ride and handling. It is a fun to drive car. Hyundai steering are known for their lack of feel. The new city has too much body roll to have real fun. If you are looking for comfort, features and practicality, go for other options. If you are looking for raw fun, this is the one.
Bro. This is the market trend. 1L 3 cylinder turbo petrols. Even the Hyundai GDi is the same which parts the Venue and the upcoming i20. The TSI engine in Rapid is an international award winning engine, and yeh, it's FAST!
It’s the trend now with rapid and vento have 3 cylinder engines and also Verna dct with a 1.0 , and the new generation Honda city also has 1.0 turbo engine rs variant in Thailand that may come in next year if Honda seeks fit
