I just bought this car 5 days back L&K variant after comparing the test drive of Camry & superb . Ride & handling is just superb !!! 👌 Got installed the led screen at the rear head rest & now its a connected car . The accessory list is just endless . Like there’s two chiller compartment in both the dashboard to keep your drinks chilled . Umbrellas in both the doors , sun shade at the rear apart from rear windows aswell , inbuilt 2 SD card slot one for navigation which comes with car & another for your media files supporting 128 GB . 2 USB ports for charging as well for connecting phone & 3 ports of 12V sockets one at from , another for rear seat & third one for boot & the list is really long for other features . And with such huge boot to fit in a baby elephant & such plush & comfy back seats it’s just superb peace of mind . I also opted for the Skoda maintainance package to make sure no other charges pop out if something goes wrong for the next 4 years/1,00,000 kms .
Gavin's reviews are brilliant. He knows his topic well, has a good vocabulary, pleasant demeanor, and knows exactly how much to talk. He doesn't have the air of arrogance that I've seen with some in the field. In short - professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Thanks for another good review, Gavin!
@@fazilahamed1240 Not just Indians. People everywhere are buying more SUVs. Some brands have even dropped entire lineup of sedans, hatchbacks and wagons in several countries.
Varun Kumar Bro thing is in india people want vehicles highers off the ground , and its herd mentality , if spending more than 30 lakhs get an suv , even if its not required just to have that road presence . No body in india gives a damn about stability , comfort , handling etc except very few , that is the reason people are going gaga about suv’s .
From my perspective view SUVs are just a hype, Sedan cars are emotions & I got Best cruising Experiences, I love sedan cars, And superb is simply Superb. best in class
yeah, especially celebrities. Who just prefer an SUV over sedan just due to trend Currently,URUS is more selling than HURACAN And CULLINAN is more selling than GHOST. REASON?? Just the Trend
@@krishnasisodiya270 you do realize that driving a huracan in India is suicide? The lack of good roads are the primary reason.... However urus has good ground clearance
God I'm so jealous of Gavin after watching this video. His face wears such a satisfactory and relishing smile while driving the superb. I think that's just about enough proof required to establish what a great package the superb is.
One of the best car 👌 always excited me more the rear passenger seats phenomenal 👌 the real value for money car for an upper middle class Indian who things about luxury
I bought this car after seeing Autocar's first review, in 2017. 3 years down the lane, It hasn't lost any of its charm. In fact, I feel laid-back in comfort everytime I enter its cabin. I have driven the Skoda Kodiak and Toyota Fortuner, in the same price bracket. And I can, without the fear of God, tell you, that the Superb, pound - for - pound, is a much better ride. Better riding position, better upholstery, almost no body roll at corners, better leg space. It's even better at the back. And that boot, man. As Autocar had earlier said, "You can fit half of China back there".
@@aniruddhachanda I live in the state of Jharkhand. The ground clearance of my vehicle is 160 mm (approx), but I will have to refer to the Owner's manual for the exact number. I can answer any and all of your questions regarding this car. If you seek, please ask point-wise.
This review was very good 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼specially cinematography, presentation, background music was all very good.....It was a lot of fun to watch the video, hope we will see such videos even further.
I have owned a passat and my brother owns a Endeavour now he is seriously regretting that decision to buy suv I honestly Will prefer sedan over suv any time of the day
Pratiksha Kadam sedans are always more comfortable on the city and highway in my experience. SUVs are great if you are driving on not so great roads very often, for like people who have factories in industrial areas and the likes.
Went to buy superb sport line, ended up buying karoq after test driving both. I drive my cars myself & the monsoon NCR roads scraped superb’s underbody so many times in my test run, I’m happy with peace of mind that 200mm of Karoq offers (rather than 2.0 TSI that attracted me towards superb). Now I get why Indians prefer SUVs, they are just more practical in India!
How's the Karoq compared to Q3 1.4 TFSI & GLA? Did you check those out before buying (I know they are 5-8L more expensive, but you were superb earlier, so I guess you had the budget). And do you think Karoq worth it at 30L?
I am an Indian.. but really really love those German meschines.. can't even afford a rapid now.. but I am sure of the long smiles this car will put on the DRIVERS face for I own a polo TDI for last 5 years.
@gavin .feel u r better than faisal in reviewing car..love ur presentation..only thing u need to do is add some more details in ur presentation like u own a car n reviewing each aspects..will b icing on cake..😊
Gavin I used Skoda superb for 8 years 100000 kms. I had bought this car in 2011 but I can say actually it is superb. I loved it so much. And rear seats were class apart with lots of leg room no other cars even in luxury segment had at that time and boot was massive even in today’s time no luxury sedans has this massive boot space. I was really impressed by this car.
It is built on same platform as Audi A6, but feels more spacious, similarly feature loaded and definitely much less pricier... Except for the badge, it has nearly everything or more than A6! 😎
One personal request for the review team: Could you please highlight the car's safety rating too while making a review? Especially while displaying the model name and details? As it would be much better...
Gavin u r best among Autocar family ,ur review and ur words r class apart from other reviewers ,Renuka also do the work quite well . This review was also good.
What a Wonderful Review ! Excellent talks and Pleasant Narration, Superb Photography. Really Amazing Experience to watch ! Very Nice expressions of the facts by the Narrator. You hit the right spot. I just see your review for beautiful feeling and experiences. Bravo... Keep it up, Thanks
I had a Skoda Rapid 1.5 TDI DSG for 5 years before I switched over to BMW X1. I should say guys as far as driving dynamics is concerened nothing can beat a german sedan. I loved my rapid so much specially the confidence it gives you behind the wheel. They are so well planted that you can just throttle and sneak into any nook and corner with so much of confidence which I badly miss in my X1 because of body roll which is an inherent characteristic of SUV. But then I had to forego sedan because of our road conditions....everytime I drove over a bumpy patch my heart skips a beat. Well X1 has its own bag of goodies too....enjoying it now.
The small sedans are also popular in our market atleast. As always SUVs have so much presence and really feels great... This Skoda Superb is a brilliant sedan to my eyes, but why no connected tech
It is as luxurious as the Germans but at a much lower price ! Why pay a hefty premium for just a badge ? When skoda as a brand too is quite well renowned in the Indian market
It's been always my favourite car. If I'm not wrong this used to come with ALL WHEEL DRIVE back then. which makes this car so special always comes with segment above features.
Lovely car with balanced proportions.. Only if I had the money and ability to afford something like this! Also, inflation is for real.. 12 years ago one could easily buy a E Class(inline 4 if not V6) for this price. Today you get a Skoda.
Skoda superb's design language elevated over the period of time, same is the the case with vw passat, although unfortunately passat sales was never as good as superb. ???
@autocarindia love the review as always! Beautifully done Gavin. May I know what was the location of this shoot? Would love to take my car for a spin there in monsoons... Thanks
This is one car in the Indian market which can be called a complete package. Skoda easily has one of the best lineups & offer products which are so solid, look sophisticated, are packed with usable features unlike MG & ride qualities of all their cars are top notch too. Cannot forget to mention the build quality their cars have & on safety fronts, they are packed to the brim. I just wish if Skoda could better their after sales services which is the only drawback they are facing & also offer cars which are well below 20-25 lacs bracket. If they do so, I am sure they'll sweep away most of the market share across segments
This is the best sedan which anyone can get @ 40 lakhs on road price .. It has covered up all the departments perfectly fine . I just wish that skoda improves its service quality and increase no of service centres .
quick Q: this updated superb is just launched in may end 2020. with an 8inch touch screen infotainment. Now there is news about updating the head unit again for Rapid, Kodiaq and superb in 2021. is that true? do u have any insight to that. What HU does this 2020 have? Amundsen? or columbus? or bolero?
People criticise skoda for high maintainence , high cost of ownership and not so long term reliable products and may not sell cars in masses in India but one thing they don’t know is they are the undisputed leaders of luxury sedans in the Indian market in the name of Octavia and superb lots of competitors come and go but these two cars will be evergreen with all sorts of luxury , build , features , powerful engine and performance that’s why they are simply clever 🔥❤️
Thank you Reuben :) Glad you liked it. Honestly, our review shoots are not an ideal environment to test fuel economy because we drive to get the best shot, not for economy. But these modern TSI engines can be very good, provided you don't have a lead foot. Also, engine stop-start helps a LOT in traffic.
Skoda superb L&K is a dream ... I took a test drive in Mercedes c class and it was pathetic ... so went for superb. Power, space, technology, fuel efficiency (eco mode), after sales service is excellent (break from past) ... all and all if you don’t want to brand your self with logo this is actually a value for money.
The superb always was a good looker and this is no exception... And definitely, the VFM proposition of it just continues to be as it was... What remains to be seen is, how it will put up against its sibling, the Passat which is once again on its way to India!!!
Hey Gavin .. I just saw a video of Skoda Superb Sportline. Can you make a video on the same and suggest as which one should be opted for an an enthusiast but an low cost to maintenance perspective as well.
I hope people prefer this over SUVs. SUVs are overhyped now. Sedans forever!! And another great review by Gavin! I love the way he reviews cars, concise and to the point.
