Shishkin was a wonderful horse, I feel he wasn't "one of the greats" but I also feel he did have the quality to be or become "one of the greats". I am so sad for all the the connections who will have loved and will miss him dearly.

Beautiful game horse! Watched him win at Huntingdon and knew he was special seeing him parade. The little beast had the worst possible passage and still won! With a clear passage he’d of mullered this lot

Always knew it was a machine, had big money on him. He made a mistake at the 3rd, then got shuffled back and lost position, switched around everything, then got hampered and still won. Best performance of the festival no doubt. Not many horses would of won with that trip. If nico had him in a proper position like sat 3rd or something he would of won that by 10 lengths no danger. This will be a machine chaser if he jumps.

Great race. Shiskin justified the hype. Could be a real superstar. Fiddlerontheroof ran a real stinker, as did Mister Malarky. A little worrying for the Tizzard stable

The opening race of the 2020 Festival. It was the last racing before CO-VID/pandemic. In this renewal, Shishkin, Captain Guinness and Edwardstone, the latter would win a Group 1 over fences.

Abacadbras finds very little for pressure, had Davy gone for him earlier he wouldve lost by further. He just got beaten by a better horse, one who was value for more than the winning distance after everything that could go wrong for him went wrong.

Tom Hurcombe Shishkin the best horse in the race , no doubt about that , he made a bad enough mistake at the third and then he had to dodge a fallen horse at the 2/3 last , quality horse 🐴

I think Shiskhin would have won by more than 2 or 3 lengths as at the 3rd last two horses went right and slightly interfered with him and at the second last the horse that fell in front of him could have brought him down, but the first and second are very good horses as they finished 11 lengths ahead of the rest. Even in running Shishkin had to be switched from the inside after jumping the fourth last to the outside and Abbacadaba had first run on him, as someone else mentioned this could be another Altior in the making.

Think Elixir D’ainay or Captain Guinness might have won if Asterion Forlonge hadn’t caused havoc. Poor from Walsh not to get to rail after 4 out given his stablemate was lunging right. Abacadabras was always vulnerable to a stronger finisher up the hill and Shishkin won with a tad in hand.

Let’s all talk about the elephant in the room when your all slamming Russell’s ride. If you look at the horses pedigree and form he wasn’t sure to stay. Russell has ride him to get the trip and held on as long as poss. It was always gonna be touch and go on that ground. Everyone slamming him is talking out their pockets. And I backed the Russel horse

Bollocks. No need to come 8 wide down the hill when his horse is full of running. Especially when the leader is diving out to his right at every hurdle. Far to similar to Detla work last year for me. He seemed over eager. He'd like to have that one back again id imagine.

Raymond 8 wide go get your specs checked. And tbf he was fair close to rail most the way round. Coming down the hill in his position he could go where he wants. He isn’t gonna start moving a horse about who’s not a sure stayer at the trip. No one would have batted an eyelid if it was ruby in years gone by but everyone’s got something to say about Russel cos they’re usually talking out their pockets.

T-dog did u watch the race yourself?? Typical so called racing people getting offered as soon as a poor jockey gets criticized for making a balls of a ride. I love Russell he's been one of the best for years but he let himself down. All he had to do was take a peak behind him to see the winner was flying. You talk about the trip?? Sure another stride or 2 and he was going by him again. So keep your cliche bollix to yourself. Plus I backed the winner before you start your talking out of your pockets tripe.

erikwhitebeard shumer how was it a bad ride when it wasn’t sure to get the trip ? You going on about it was closing again. Did he know that at the bottom of the hill ? Did he know he’d get the trip ? It was a good ride for all the unknowns going into the race. And obvs your gonna be saying don’t talk out the pockets you backed the winner so it didn’t matter to you. I’m sure you’d have been whinging if he’d got beat by a head about awww he should have gone on the inside cos the horses in front kept drifting right and he got hampered. If shishkin has a clear path no one would have been questioning any ride cos it’s have won by 10 lengths. Understand racing you fucking moron. Russel rode the horse to get the trip and try get up the hill. It wasn’t a shit ride or a dodgy ride it was just a ride to get the horse up the hill and hopefully stay in front. A bad ride was power on stormy Ireland. There’s a difference you fucking bellend.

Helen Hoge-croom stop talking out your arse. A 10 stone jockey vs half tonne horse. If the horse wants to jump right it will. Also you obvs don’t watch much racing as if you did you’d know the horse has jumped right every time it’s ran. All the other jockeys knew it as well. Townend did the best he could to keep it straight. It was up to the other jockeys to go on its inside or risk the outside knowing it’s going to jump right. What a weapon

Is it legal to do what the white horse did when jumping? Move over to strike another horse in second place. Whitey did it, and not one, but two horses fell. The jockey and the horse should be disqualified and suspended from racing for that incident. That is dirty. Not way to win a race. Justice is he lost.
