I know supercars have come a long way in 20 years but still didn't think I'd hear someone say a 2:06.3 puts someone at the back of the top 10 so soon.. Murphs 2:06.8 lap of the gods back in '03 still seems lightning quick today
I've said it before and I'll say it again, that Mount Panorama circuit is one of the greatest in the world and SOOOOOO EXCITING to watch!!! Plus the V8 supercars are one of the best to watch too. I wish we had them in UK/Europe! Love how passionate and emotional the drivers/teams/commentary team are 👍👍👍👍👍
This is a spectacular lap - but they hardly made any noise about the fact that it was record breaking and quicker than the oft raved about Scotty Mac lap record effort of 2018. ( a 3:5 compared to a 3:8)
Scott’s 2017 lap is arguably the best shootout ever along with Murphy 03 and Johnson in the serria. He did a 3:8 which was the record in a older fgx falcon with much less down force and aero advantage to the mustang. Scott absolutely threw that car around and was on the knife edge of crashing.
