@GM P we have 2 Tata cars in home and after sale service is really good. It's just a old story, we have seen the change, we have a nano around 4 years old and a Nexon which is 1 year old, both are really taken care by service guys. They even pick up and drop the car for free.

You did not mention that ESC, HLA and TC are STD across all models of Nexon unlike Venue. And 6 Airbags in venue are only in the top end. It is not good to compare only the top ends. People tend to buy other VFM variants alsi

But think about two top variants diesel bs6.. venue top end costs a lakh rupee cheaper than nexon.. Which is fair deal to be considered.. Side curtain air bags is added advantage.. Nowhere venue is lower than nexon.. Hyundai has good build and hyundai cars after sales service is good than TATA.. They have already completed 20 years in india ranking 2nd after Maruti as per sales chart..

Good Review. I know that Tata's engines are not up there to compete with korean or Japanese engines, but still I am booking the Nexon petrol. It's because I know Tata group which is one of the rarest group in the whole world which is true to their value system. I am satisfied that atleast 70% of the money that I spent is going back to our society and helping someone who actually needs it. Those who know the story of Tata group will know it.

That's True. I got mine delivered in July and already driven it for 2K Kms. Amazing car and the interior is sublime and comfortable. The engine is great as well,gives my power whenever I need.I am really happy with the car.

Tata just need to do one thing- front is already perfect, just make the rear look like the Tata Harrier's rear. Then there is no stopping this car from becoming the best seller ever in India.

Nexon is heavier by 300 kgs than Venue. No wonder Venue feels peppier due to higher power/ton ratio than Nexon. However, Venue is based on the Santro K1 platform which is inferior to Creta's K2 and will be a tall ask for K1 platform cars to score 5 star NCAP rating despite having 6 airbags

Well in my city they sold the service center. If there is poor service no matter how good a car is it will be bad soon. They need to upgrade in sale and service.

@Mayank chauhan It's funny coz the overall rear design is the same since it's launch 3 years ago.People loved it then,but then some people started commenting otherwise and it became a trend to say bad about it's rear.Actually it looks awesome and different at the same time.

I will choose TATA Nexon because of 5 reasons, 1) its a 5 start Safety 2) Stuffed features 3) the car was designed by Trilix 4) Specious & comfortable seating 5) Sunroof.

Nexon has more space and from the front it looks macho. But the rear end never matches that beautiful front. They should reduce that floating roof slightly and redesign the rear with a simple design🧐.

People be like:Nexon is the best car. And then when they're about to buy one, will never even bother a test drive and go either with a maruti or venue. Having said that there's no bad car in this segment. And the new nexon looks better than the old one.

Actually, it's the Venue that's better to drive than Nexon... But then again, if it were upto me then I wouldn't buy either of these two. I would go for Ecosport or XUV300. Ecosport is the best C-SUV to drive with XUV300 following close behind. Nexon always felt a bit restricted. Like it's not willing to respond to how I wanna drive it, be it the engine or the handling. But Ecosport? Driving that vehicle is an absolute joy.

Well,For me Ecosport have hardly changed/facelifted since it came out the first time, rear bench is limited, rear boot door is a hinderance. But it's drives better. XUV 300 - Boot is uncompromisingly small. Everytime you going for a outing with family , you're gonna regret it.We don't but a car only to drive to ofc everyday. At least not me. 😉 And a lot of features like steering mods and heated ORVMs are pretty much gimmicks. Price also is high, and it's not delivering everything in that sense for that price. But it's also a very safe 5 star and good offering from Mahindra no doubt. Nexon provides a balance of everything, ticks alll the boxes and turns out to be a better deal overall, if you consider all the aspects of a car, not only the engine and driving.

1st generation Nexon, I own one for last close to three years and have no complaints whatsoever! I have test driven Venue too but given a choice, I will buy Nexon again.... anyday! BTW, service of Tata is now much improved contrary to what people think! This is my own experience

You are comparing the turbo model of venue with the normal engine of Nexon. The venue has an 81 bhp petrol engine and you need to pay dearly for a turbo model. Nexon offers the 120 HP petrol engine from its cheapest to its most expensive variant. This is why it doesn’t seem like a fair comparison.

I personally feel venue is boxy and not at all appealing ...Nexon looks like a mini tank....agree that the petrol is underpowered but it does seem to get the job done ! ...my heart goes to Nexon over all the other competitors (includes sonet ).

Yup true, sonet did not hold good to expectations, interior looks cheap, plus manual transmission will not have drive modes plus no cooled glove box, a major no from me for sonet, also no 4 disc brakes only front ones Now at the most nexon and sonet have both plus and minus over eachother, but more no. Of service centres of tata makes a major difference Therefore only nexon

I have driven both of these cars...Venue's ride and handling is better than other Hyundai cars...but Nexon is just on another level...Venue doesn't even come close...! Nexon has that planted feel on the road...high speed stability is far better in Nexon...and Nexon is way better on bad roads...! But if you really want a petrol only car...just go with Venue...its engine is far better than petrol Nexon...on paper Nexon petrol seems to be better...but it just doesn't translates to real world usage...and don't, please don't even think of buying Nexon petrol automatic...that AMT gearbox makes that engine even worse...(i am talking from the point of young enthusiastic drivers view who loves to drive, but if you are buying Nexon for Dad/Mom, uncles or Grandfather...who will not drive their car above 60-80 kmph even on express way...then Nexon petrol will do just fine). And if you are hell bent on buying Nexon...please do yourself a favour, pay a little more money and buy Nexon diesel manual...Nexon diesel is best...!

It's only because of the laxity and lacklustre performance of TATA service centres and infact showroom as well, i chose Hyundai venue. Aftersale service is a very important factor to be considered when you buy a car. With its proactive attitude towards their clients, I think Hyundai lives up to its commitment and vehicle maintenance never will be an headache. I think TATA will have to improve on this parameter.

I drive the Nexon P and I have never felt a lack of peppiness while in sports mode. Also the, high speed stability, suspension and driving dynamics is phenomenal for a vehicle that's build like a tank. And the best part is if you are adventurous, this car is made to be used roughly assisted by its 210mm ground clearance. Strangely I find the clutch too light compared to my Grand i10. The jerkiness part is true for for speed below 25. Only downside I see for now would be the interior fit and finish, resale value and TATA service (which by the way is on par with Hyundai in Pune). By the way real world mileage for me City-12 and Highway-16 (BTW this varies for everyone for each car depending on their driving styles)

Look for an SUV... riding n handling balance is the most important thing... This could be a treat if it came with a punchy engine... However...nexon engine is good though,but it has the characteristics of an SUV... If you are looking for an SUV...you must go with NEXON...

Hyundai cars r well established in Indian market. From 2016 , from Tata Tiago, tata started becoming a so called good car brand.. It's a good progress, i am sure it will get better in coming yrs.

My hatchback with so much less weight makes 120 bhp too. India's most powerful petrol hatchback in the segment. With 1500 cc, 150Nm Torque Ford Figo AT 2019 is pure gold.

By far this is the first review where Venue is preferred over Nexon. Couldn't agree to it though. Surprised to know the Venue Engine is given more marks than Nexon.

Even though I like Venue in many aspects, I would not prefer that hatchbackish cabin. Nexon seems like planted and rugged to take some hit.

@@lichazra continuing your statement then venue having less space at back, hatchback have more space than it, light steering wheel, no ncap rating yet , in starting price of venue petrol you get grandi10 petrol engine but nexon gives 120ps powered engine more macho look, better interior and exterior look , more standard safety features etc.

Tata cars having better load capacity and nexon is a Great Off Road vehicle. SUV = MADE FOR OFFROADING SUV = SOLID UTILITY VEHICLE Nexon is Heavier than Venue.

Noone is going off-road with compact SUVs. They only provide a better ride quality on broken roads and better features. If I buy Nexon I would not look to drive it into a pool of mud

I went in to Tata showroom two days back to get a test drive as well the Hyundai. The Tata people never called me back whether I am interested to buy or not ,but where as Hyundai people are chasing me despite of good sales they have. What is feel is Tata is investing lot of their money and time producing very good vehicles but these show room people no proper training , the staff is least bothered about sales. I am surprised how the showroom owners are surviving with these sales representatives.

I am a proud and happy owner of BS6 Nexon petrol.... Totally happy with it. However, main factors affecting its sales are its rear design, lesser network spread across all the Indian cities and the typical Indian mindset of not trusting an Indian brand

I agree Tata has to work more on engines but still I feel Nexon is a better choice in this comparison. Venue looks small from inside & also interior design , quality of plastics has been downgraded if compared with other Hyundais.

I agree that venue is better package but what about the ride quality we all are familiar with the Indian roads and nexon feels way more comfortable on bad roads than venue and the high speed stability of nexon on highway even at the speed of 150 it feels confident and pilant than venue . The verdict is if you want to use only in the city and traffic then buy venue but want a all round good car for every condition buy nexon

Venue has lesser space for people in the backseat than the i20. Even though compact they should have designed for more space. Nexon has more space and is tough as nails. The only thing holding back the Nexon is the attitude of the sales people and service centers

More power doent make difference in Nexon as its body weight ratio is higher than venue... Also Autocar focus only on power... They are not the user guide... power in both are good if it is considered for common person... Nexon is better in safety and ride quality...

Nexon has improved a lot in many ways... Everyone is focused on safety.. other than that its comfort... stability... performance are very impressive.Than other suv's in this segment. Hope they improve their services also(its getting improved nowadays but still not satisfied)

Nexon turbo petrol engine is same across all models, though venue starts with 1.2 naturally aspired 4 cylinder which is a dud. Compare base or one above base of both of these and you will have a clear winner accross all parameters.

Unfortunately 4+ months waiting for Nexon , the prod capacity is overbooked now- April 21. ibooked in Nov 20 got delivery in Mar but worth waiting, thats all i can say.

Well buddy, if that's your thing, you shouldn't be looking at Compact SUVs with 3 cylinder petrol engines in the first place. And even then, for your requirements, the diesel Nexon would suit the bill better. Nexon is a heavier car. The suspension tuning, space, and the highway stability is definitely better than Venue.

I've mostly driven my Nexon Petrol on long drives on full load - boot filled up and 4 people onboard. Only seldom I've felt I needed some more power. And then I remind myself, "dude, you're driving an SUV. Calm down and enjoy the music." And it becomes a breeze.

Hyundai anyday. Tata on heart is crap. I really like Nexon, but the feel is bad. Misaligned parts, really bad after sales and life of engine. Hyundai is sophisticated and something that I still trust. Yes Nexon is stronger, but Venue is not bad either. Especially not a Suzuki. Buying Tata only for weight is not reason.

Nexon sales would increase if they give simple music system and central locking in base variant. XE has no central locking but has immobilizer ,so harder to have single key to manage . XM on road 1.3 lakh more in karnataka. literally at 10 lakh for decent car XM. Brezza at 8.99 lakh on road with all basic features Venue at 8.5 lakh Ford ecosport at 9.95lakh car with central locking and music system and all power windows. Nexon shud get rhytm pack like altroz that would undercut the competition. finger crossed

It's not true, I am using tiago petrol from last 4 years without any problems. Only nvh levels doesn't meet with swift or neos in this old models but new models of tiago or nexon are simply best in segment without any doubt. People consider Hyundai or maruti car actually not taking test drive even of new tata cars. Absulately planted,more comfortable and vfm products. After using tiago I get confirm that in future I will never go with maruti or Hyundai cars. They are taking min. 50k to 1 lakh rs. More on each car with bad suspension compare to Tata Motor.

Hyundai is obviously the premium one with overall better sophistication. Tata has to be the better one to drive. I will not talk about safety here as most Tata Fanboys feel that one will definitely die in any other make even if the car crashes with a peanut whereas no one will die in Tata even if it falls from Mars. Nexon is definitely safer but that does not take away Venue's safety standards. Where Nexon excels over Venue is overall comfort, music quality, driving dynamics, a much more macho stance, superb ground clearance, 150 kilos heavier yet has a close claimed mileage, better braking and control thanks to brake assist and roll over mitigation programing. Nexon 9/10 Venue 8.9/10
