@@barbararamirez3902he more then likely won't be taking people with him. It's too risky to take other people on a storm chase. He is liable if you get hurt, which would cause major issues with his business. Remember reed does this as a job and for science..not a tour.
I was caught in a bad hailstorm here in Pa and it trashed the sheetmetal on my SUV, all that and it DIDN'T crack the windshield. So the amount of damage his Subaru took was not shocking.
Reed, your passion for tornadoes is amazing! I'm a tornado nerd, and I've seen just about every tornado movie, show, and documentary. Watching you is always awesome because of your energy and knowledge. I'm one of the few people who never gets annoyed at your "yelling" in these videos, it shows your love and passion. Here's to a great 2021 chase season for you! Keep up the great work
Haha! Pic at the end, "Dad, I don't know about this trip, ya heeya!" Car is totaled, I think. Wonderful catches, Reed! The rainbow 🌈 was stunning! This also made me sad, that besides, Gizmo, you were alone. I thought of Josh, and missed, your good friend, and chasing buddy. May he RIP. I thought of Tim Samaris, Paul and OMGosh! I've forgotten, the other man's name, Tim's chase partner, who was killed in the El Reno tornado of 2013. Wow! I am getting old. Great chase/great scenery!
I liked the footage , but after watching the cool and calm Pecos Hank, this video makes my eye twitch with all the yelling lol. The excitement is entertaining though.
i may sound crazy but i am in shock right now that i found you on youtube just now randomly. when i was 4 years old! i found storm chasers watching tv with my dad and it became one of my favoriteee shows ever.. we watched it alll the time together and i loved the dominator and your team with Joel and them.. i was really sad when it got canceled in 2012 and kinda forgot about it.. im 18 now and finding you again is crazy cool im happy you’re still chasing!!
Reed! I am a HUGE fan of yours, and I have down many speeches about storms and storm safety over the past 2 years, informing people how to be safe and help others around them! You are such a big inspiration to me! You even replied to one of my comments back when you were in my town in South Dakota during a blizzard. You told me to Never Stop Chasing. And I haven't! I am still chasing my dream of becoming a storm chaser, of informing others on how to stay safe, and the warnings of bad weather approaching. I just want you to know that I love what you do, and to keep up the amazing work that you and your team does! Thank you!
You hit all the emotions for me on this one sir. The Subaru got dominated, but the video was worth it! Glad you both came out the other side on this season! The drone work was just otherworldly in that fog! So beautifu! I heard you yell and laugh like a kid as it went up! I can imagine you dancing around in circles laughing. It was such a magical end to that storm! Looked like alot of hours, bad food, and fun! Thank you for sharing your passion. You are appreciated!
Just as you say: "Never stop chasing!" Thank you for all the wonderful information and documentaries you've brought us during the past year and then some! It's so much appreciated. I also love the stereo sound I've heard lately! Keep up the great work!
I've been watching your shows since i was 5 years old, got to meet you in Illinois, meet my idol, and still watching you today 13 years later hoping to carry on your footsteps! from all the way from your first episode to competitions with the Tiv team to dominator3 and today! I love every video. hope u get to read this ill keep chasing for my dreams and follow your footsteps. I still have the Dominator t-shirt and picture of you with me back then.
I’m absolutely terrified of this time year. I mean I literally hate it! Makes my anxiety go through the roof. But I can’t get enough of watching these storms either
No need to be anxious. Just keep watching videos and learn about them and stay tuned to your weather radio. Have an action plan so you feel in control. Then dominate the storm
@@ReedTimmerWx I have a safety plan set up. Just really hard where I live due to I see them touch down and never do damage because they disappear right after touchdown. I live in the country
@@jessicanichols1585 the more you understand how a tornado is formed, the less you get anxious or scared. I have been studying storms since I was 7 and I am 33 now. Convection, moisture, wind sheer, the wind speed and direction, from the surface to about 3,200 feet and etc. It really makes you less scared once you know things have to be perfect and even then, if you know what to look for then you can better prepare yourself.
I'm with you 100%! I'm totally blind and have lived through two tornadoes, and I still love watching these documentaries! I'll never forget that sound as long as I live. Now, to answer your question, I'm using text-to-speech technology that tells me what I'm typing and helps me read what's onscreen, but it has to be text. It's called JAWS, and it's now able to describe many of the emojis that you see. Some of them are down right funny! If you have a tough time typing, perhaps you could use the technology you've got with your computer or mobile phone. Apple's is called "Voiceover," and it's in the settings section. Once in Settings, look for Voiceover, and turn it on. Of course, Siri is a big help, too, but Voiceover and the "Voice Assist" technology is for people who have a hard time typing, too. Learning to type without it is better, because you only get better with practice. If you know what and where the home keys are, you've already done half the work. It's just a matter of memorization. As for me, touch screens are a major problem, because I twitch too much, so I'm learning how to use the Voice Assist features with my IPhone. If that was too much information, I'm sorry, but I love helping people learn how to use all their senses. Being totally blind all my life just gives me the incentive to learn more and grow more independent, and I love it. PS: If you use a Windows-based computer or smartphone, your text-to-speech technology is Narrator.
Volcanic activity has increased more in the last 2 years (Heavily in 6 months), then what appears to be the last 20, so it's worth noting that it is the inevitable that the weather will change globally without humans doing anything else, but it's crystal clear we are just adding to the natural process & problem that is already occurring within our planet. If people would just take 1 day out of their lives to study Earth's changes the last 6 months, they'd quickly learn that Earth is gearing up for some massive changes with time passing. People should be prepared for the worst, because following Earth's progress the last 6 months-2 years it's very visible we are in for a change & not just dealing with weather, but as a whole planet.
That hail was something else man! It seems like it came down for a very long time too! I’ve never seen it entirely cover the ground like that and the fogginess afterwards was really neat and beautiful.
👀😳Jeez Reed awesome pics !! Clearly you got some new gear or something cause this takes your hard work to another level 👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼👊🏼👏🏼👏🏼keep doing what you do You are clearly the best Doc🤗
Thank you Reed. I love your style and how you use your eyes with technology. Most just use radar which the eyes are just as important looking into a storm. Just glad you are having fun because that makes or breaks a chase.
Quick question when u storm chase do you still use the dominators? Well Dom 3 Also I just wanna thank you U inspired me to start storm chasing and u are an amazing person 😁
Gizmo has to be the only tornado chasing dog. Defo need some merchandise producing. Gizmo has bigger balls than joel had giz goes straight to the danger zone no questions asked. What a dog
You are fun to watch and I love it when you get excited all these other so called storm chasers are boring and don't know what a tornado looks like and they talk like they are scared except for pecos hank
Btw, for those who ask to whom he's talking, this was a live stream, and he was speaking to all those who were live with him. What I don't know is if he was talking to anyone else and using a headset.
@@Oleandra-13 Do you remember the one video he did where he'd been walking around with his fly open the entire time? I only knew it, because he actually acknowledged it! Gotta love Reed! He's so honest and totally devoted to this work!
The other driver's thoughts : 22:43 "Turn around dude. There's hail coming." 25:00 "I bet that guy I flashed turned around. I just saved him from getting a crack in his windshield."
Reed, after the hail totally destroys your windshield, how do you drive home?? You have SEE well to drive. How did you get back home out of that situation??
Can you name a tornado or situation that made your butt pucker a little lol? I know you're a badass and all just curious. Love all your videos and chasing!
He does chasing tours! Well I guess it would be “his company” and team. I believe there’s a disclaimer that he may not be there for some of the tours, depends on his work locations I would assume...I’m doing it one day!! (Hopefully soon!!)
Sorry, but I have just one annoyance, and I really hope you can help us all out, especially those of us who listen with headphones or earbuds. Please get a mic with a windscreen, and please make sure it's in full stereo as well. I know you think it's not that bad or that big a deal, but for those who use their hearing as their primary sense, it really is. Plus, the monaural (and narrow audio) is very hard on both ears, and whenever the wind blows into the mic, it really affects both ears, causing them to ring or buzz. It also can distort or even cancel out other sounds. With the windscreen, we'll be much more able to hear everything more easily, and even whatever you say won't be overtaken by the air blowing into the mic. Even the new GoPro 8 Black finally sounds much better, because it's in stereo. Thank you so much for your help and attention to what you do, because I know you really care about it.
Hey Reed. Could you please put the names of songs and the artists that composed/recorded them? They can go where it says "Show more.", and I'm sure they'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
Dr. Reed I had the pleasure of meeting you in St. Louis Missouri when your film came out on IMAX. what was that? 2013? I was a young girl in love with adrenaline and nature. You told me the best part wasn’t the adrenaline, but the beauty. I am now a young woman, 21 years old, with a nursing degree for both the beauty and the adrenaline of it. I pursued stem because of you. I am so happy to have found you and your videos once again. Stay safe chasing those twisters. 💕
So like I moved from Nebraska to south central Kansas so I could see more tornado's. Question went will I see them, because so far everything has been way east of here. My friends say I am not seeing them because I moved here and scared them away. Have seen over a hundred in my lifetime, but still not enough because I live for tornado's.
