Hi, I paid to have my 2023 camry windshield replaced and I found some broken black plastic bits later on in the passenger floor. It's driving me crazy trying to think what it could have been. Do you have any idea what the bits of black plastic breaking and falling everywhere could be?
I had a new windshield installed on my 2023 Camry and the dashboard now creaks nonstop. Is it possible the glass was put too low and is rubbing the dashboard? Can the glass be removed and repositioned without damaging the glass?
I’m not sure what could cause the dashboard to creak. Even if the windshield were too close to the dashboard, the urethane would dry and wouldn’t allow the glass to move anywhere. The problem might be on the outside, the cowl where the wipers go. The noise May came through there is there are any gaps
And yes. As long if the company you are using has WRD Tools like the one shown in the video, they will be able to save the glass and reposition it. Make sure you are present to ensure the technicians place the windshield where you would like it 👍🏽
The plastic mouldings on the side of the car are held on just with clips. When the technicians removed them, he might of broken one of the pegs on the clips and it is not sitting flush. At high speeds, the air is getting in-between the glass and moulding causing the whistle. If the urethane around the glass was the problem, then you would be having water inside too. Call the technician to come over to remove and reinstall the plastic mouldings. Inspect the clips yourself to check the 10 pegs on 5 clips on each side. Each clip should be $4 from Toyota and inspect the 2 mouldings to make sure they’re not broken
@@supremeautoglass You were absolutely correct, the click were no installed correctly. Once they were snapped into place and clicked, the wind is now gone. Thanks for the advice.
Yes all cameras on windshields have to be recalibrated. Even if not by us, we outsource the calibration to a company that is capable to work with the client’s schedule
