Oh sure, it's a great sports car but the criticism I would level has nothing to do with the final product, but rather the implications of its development. Think of the lessons that Toyota could learn from this: if it sells well, then it justifies this approach with future products, which means they could cut even more out of their R&D and still be successful because they can always pay their competitors to build their cars for them. If it doesn't sell well, then building a sports car can be viewed as an objective mistake, so this will be the last Supra we ever see. Either way, Toyota's lessons from this will be borne by their engineering, which will take a battering regardless.
