From what i understand the Chevys tires are spent . Incredible. Idk ,but to me this makes the Chevy look soooo much better . Id much rather see a video on this chevy with newer broke in tires go against the .ore expensive 911 model .
Unless you are actively hauling people, you would have to be insane to get the Type R over the SS. The type R is a great car, but the sound of a V8 alone is a reason to buy the SS. If the Typer R was $5,000 cheaper, then it would be much more compelling
Being attainable is what excludes the C8 from supercar status. Even the host driver had a clear bias in his perception of what was faster when he ran the first test....all based on the fact that one car is almost 4 times as expensive. But in reality, fast is fast and GM just did everybody a massive favor with the C8.
I kind of agree that the Vette isn't a "supercar," but I really don't know how much that matters. It's just a label, and one that vague at best, and an actual negative in a lot of ways. It doesn't have the prestige or rareness of a Lambo (yet) but it also costs a fraction of the price and is far more reliable and stable. So, hopefully it never does become a "supercar," or God forbid, a "hypercar."
ZL1 all day. IT HAS BACK SEATS! I can actually go from a cruise with my wife and daughter. AMG GT is for losers with no family i guess. lol (I have an AMG as well, but its a CLS55 AMG XD)
The event is completely and utterly irrelevant! It's an indication of nothing but giving an overpriced car an unfair advantage. This was obviously done on purpose BTW with an intended outcome because of brand name INSECURITY and its growing inability to compete and remain relevant while cars owned and bought by teenagers are superior on the raceway. BAM!! OUCH! Randy Pobst took a Camaro ZL1. 1LE to Laguna Seca Raceway and ran some hot laps in a car he'd never driven before. A brand not known for that kind of racing. Keep in mind it was 100% stock from the factory. He put down quicker laps than Any McLaren or Nissan GTR had ever done on that raceway ! Also the Camaro driver was a woman for ChristSakes! What does real life history teach us about the skill level of women in any kind of racing other than maybe the dragstrip?? The facts don't lie! Come on, is Porsche really that insecure and inferior?? That's all this proved, something most Americans have always known. Porsche is for Broke Back Mountain type of girly Men! 💯
Kinda dumb comparison. Put SAME tires on them 1. Then 2 why not setup 650s to track alignment too? I love my 650s but still silly to not do same to both to compare. I don’t care who “won” honestly just would have been fun to see a similar setup to compare properly
Corvette is and has been since the c7 generation with the zo6 and the zr1 in the super car range as far as performance. That being said, the whole range of c8 is in that range. Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bugatti are now in hyper car range. Give credit where credit is due. Corvette is no longer a sports car. It is a super car. Also remember a c6 zr1 set the track record at Nuremberg. To add the corvette is built for the track, not on a straight. Now today a c8 zo6 will surely outperform any Lamborghini in a true track race for a third of the cost. STOP MAKING EXCUSES. The CORVETTE got the big win. Corvette is a SUPER CAR
And the GT4 is only $35k more than that Camaro.. and I currently have a 981 GT4 and I sold a 2022 ZL1/1LE to buy it.. in fairness the Camaro needed a better driver (one with more Camaro seat time)..
Excellent vid. Prices have certainly have gone up and the base 1SS cost what a 1LE cost 4 years ago. Of course 2024 the last year for the Camaro as we know it.
Personally I'd take the type R for two reasons: four doors and better gas mileage. Both of which are preference. I see hondas usually having better suspension as well but aftermarket tends to be the best for both
Any real car guy should know that General Motors has had a Corporate edict to engineer all of their cars to understeer. Alignment and tire pressure can easily fine tune for neutral steering. Most Porsche 911 have always had understeer understeer depending on how much throttle you are using but other journalists cowardly don't point this out as they are afraid they won't get another Porsche to test, and you don't know any better.
Im cross shopping the 718 GT4 PDK with the C8 Z51 & Z06 (unobtainium) . Those mods you done will be great on the 718. The APR tune only can get 402 hp 316 tq to the wheels which is ok. But I would like to see your mods added plus exhaust to add even more. I saw a GT4 with a custom tune by Motorsports And Performance YT and Akrapovic exhaust hit 447 hp 337 tq to the wheels. Im having a hard time justifying $125-140k for the 718 GT4 when I can get a C8 Z06 for that or even get a c8 z51 and add the lingenfelter super charger to it for 650hp and 630 tq.
the z06 destroys mclaren 765lt, 720s , porsche 911 GT3 at racetracks around the world none of these cars can hang with a z06 at the track where true performance counts
the mclaren 650s got spanked in the worst way by the c8 laptime 1:16 vs 1:21 (mclaren650s) and this dummy still refuses to call the c8 a supercar…u think think your a little bias much? lol your credibility goes out the window
I have a 17 2ss Redline (only 8k on it) and i love it. My 7 year old can get in the back and he's fine. I think it's all about what you like. Both cars are nice and the camaro is definitely a nice mix life crisis to have. I just get tired of cars like Camry's and Altimas trying to race me. It's like having a hands with no fingers, it's pointless. I just let them think they've won.
your an dufus it destroyed the lamborghini which is a supercar, therefore its a supercar your quite the bias guy arent you which discredits you immediately….0-60mph 2.8 sec top speed 195mph DUH its a supercar 1000% anyone who thinks different should be banned from performance cars for life
It would be interesting to see how the Camaro handles a few laps just like at a normal club day. I suspect it would struggle with brake issues, overheating & tyre grip. More importantly, on the value for money, let’s look at the resale value after 10 years of both cars. I’ll guarantee you that the Porsche will appreciate in value, whereas the Camaro will be worth next to nothing. Like most Americans, the Camaro is big, grossly overweight, loud & damn ugly.
