In my country, the used car, 2-3 years, is more expensive than the price of a new unit in Japan. The new ones is really crazy high priced due to some taxes.

fretless world it weighs 1700kg empty... it needs the grunt just to accelerate like a normal car. But there is a hybrid 2.4. They wanted this car to be as simple as possible techwise and focus on the interior usibility. If they downsized and turbocharged, it wudve made things more complicated i think. And im not sure if toyota’s 2.0 engines can be installed with the estima’s engine mounts. This chassis has been around since 2006. That 13 years. Seriously old for an mpv.

fretless world oh the voxy yeahh ur right haha. I did read somewhere that toyota were planning to replace this 3rd gen estima next year. The 4th gen was suppose to use a new TNGA platform and maybe we couldve seen it with a smaller engine+hybrid. But yeah, with terrible sales, 2019 is the last year for the estima nameplate.
fretless world i think ur grey importers are taking in the 2nd facelift estima. But yeah, with the current version being quite a fuel drinker (even with the superCVT), i can see why toyota didnt want to send some to ur shores. Plus, SUVs r too lucrative worldwide😅😅😅
mohamad ruzi ab rasid sales were in decline in their home market of japan. Only 900+ units were sold in august if im not mistaken. Even the more expensive and luxurious alphard managed to sell 4000+ units.
