Thanks for the video. My wife's uncle did a hatchet job replacing mine. He never installed new seals (or any seals for that matter) so I'm gonna get after it tomorrow.
I bought a 2022 Limited & had the Miller Cat shield installed after I had about 300 miles on it. No problems so far, it makes me sleep comfortable at night!!!
I have never worked on an exhaust system that appears so easy to disassemble. Or, is this special effects? Where are the cans of PB Blaster? The torch? The bloody knuckles? The bench vise? The golf words? Anyways, thanks for the video.
Maybe but if it’s 2020 I use 2020 parts I try not to short my customers on there money for parts because I don’t want to see them again. WARNING AFTER MARKET is not advise for this. Get OEM. With an aftermarket catalytic converter you will be buying another one in one year again. If you worried about people stealing it then you can buy a catalytic converter protection shield. It might cost about $300-$500.
Hi there! I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma truck and early this morning, my neighbor told me that they saw a stranger look under my truck possibly to steal my catalytic converter later. Are these converters more valuable on older trucks or just about any year? I'm in California. Thank you!
Hi, thanks for this video. My 2022 Tacoma Catalytic Converter has been stolen, they cut it exactly as you showed on the video. where can I find it? or can I use the same one you used for my 2022 SR double cap, 4 cylinder? due to it looks quite similar.
I had two at the same thing one was a v6 and a v4. The v6 one came in fast but the V4 one took 2 months to get it through Toyota. It was on back order. Check your local dealer for one or ask a friend. I recommend oem parts for this one. If they stole yours go through insurance because it could cost you a lot of money out of pocket to do, but up to you.
It’s a 50/50 chance. I never use aftermarket parts because they never fit properly and it’s a waste of time for me. I use aftermarket for little things like bumper retainers, signal lights, etc. A lot people are having this problem. I’d recommend you get a anti theft catalytic converter protection shield.
just got mine stolen from me last night in front of my house; going to make a claim with my insurance and hopefully they can replace. where did you get the V4 compatible part from?
@@j-flow617 thanks dude, yea I got the truck temporarily straight piped at a muffler shop for $100, got everything sorted out with the dealership, made a claim with insurance, and the wait time is 6 to 8 weeks to replace.
@@DmRaUtMtMER hi... i tried straight piping and it worked for about a month, but now my 2021 Tacoma won't accelerate beyond 40mph and it takes forever to get there.. Any ideas? Still waiting for the OEM v4 part to show up...
I’m sorry to hear that. To prevent this from happening again in the future I recommend you buy a catalytic converter protective shield, this should help from people stealing it. Thanks for watching the video!
