In this video, we show the catalytic converter guards from Cali Raised LED. These are perfect for preventing thieves from stealing your cats. 3rd gen Tacoma Cat Guards: runnin4tacos.c...
The catalytic converter contains precious metal which are platinum and rhodium. Price of platinum is $1500 per ounce and price of rhodium is $11,000 per ounce . Protect your catalytic converter
I just installed CR shields on my Taco PRO, my neighbor just had hers stolen a few nights ago..They contain contain platinum, palladium and rhodium which are very expensive for example platinum is about $1000 per ounce.
This was the first thing I put on my 2023 Tacoma I bought the Cali raised and I like the way they go on I see by some of the comments are a lot of what ifs all I can say to that it's better than nothing and if you can piss off somebody along the way trying to take your property its well worth the money nothing is a 100 percent
They use sawzall’s to take them. 30 seconds and done. This has so many holes for a blade to start from this is just slightly more difficult. It may cause the guy wanting a 30 second job to find another vehicle but…I’ve seen others that would be much better at not giving them a place to start with a sawzall.
In their defense it’s stainless steel, you ever saw or drill? It’s a bitch, it’s gonna buy time for me to grab my pistol lol. The MillerCat design is more closed almost like a skid plate. Honestly the CBI mid skid almost seems like enuf on its own.
Don’t put the key bolts together on the same side if you think the obscurity of security torx is any sort of security. If you do that they can just remove the bolts near the driveline, bend the brace down and then bend the shield out of the way and take your cats.
When you loosen up the transmission bolts and tighten them back up. Do I have to troque the bolts down ? Or can I just hand tighten the bolts down with the regular wrench
That's nice and all if the criminals were using sockets and wrenches to steal them, but they are using a reciprocating saw which is gonna make a quick job of those sheet metal.
Plus these criminals are looking for the quickest buck. As soon as they see a cat cover it's not worth the extra time, they move on to the easy target.
Are the security bolts the same? If so, thieves can buy a set of these cat shields just to get the keys to steal from any truck with this brand of shields installed.
Great review, but I couldn’t help notice that looks like a manual transmission that you were installing the cat shield on. Were you able to make it work on a manual transmission ??
@@wilyceyote I just found out that they work for manual as well. Even though product description says automatic only. As a matter of fact, the truck in this video is a manual 😂
Does the driver side make contact with the cat? I took my truck off-roading once and the driver side shield is up against the cat. I can hear some play when driving. Any advice?
@@cedarwind Hi Kevin, I am about to do this install and want to do it right the first time around. Would I be correct saying the nylon washers go on the crossmember w the security bolts? Did you double up? Any secrets, sizes, etc?
So it is supposed to touch the cat. It is such a tight fit. That is why they made it stainless steel. Try a hard rubber trim piece where it touches maybe?
@@gabrielreyes8476 A real man would fabricate his own cat shields instead of crying about how someone didn’t do it for him. You didn’t have to add the waaaa. You cry like a little bitch. It’s already implied…😅😂🤣
@@gabrielreyes8476 I know you are kidding, but I don't think many soldiers and current soldiers that served in the Infantry with knee and lower back pain, and/or now have an amputated leg would consider their automatic Tacoma's as little girl Tacoma's or pussified. Not everyone has the ability to drive a manual.
@@showmemorefunthings9208 As a vet myself, I would say that you are absolutely right. I suppose my comment, while indeed jibeful and joking, was made out of frustration that things like this are only specific to automatics and are overpriced as all get out to boot. Semper Fi brother.
