Expect future videos diving deeper in certain parts of my collection. I just started collecting and am aware that the announcement I made at the end of this video is a bit of a high hill to climb. However, I would like to use this channel (and other platforms) to serve as a documentation of sorts of that hard struggle. This is just the beginning! Let's see if I can get there :)

Obviously he is very rich. This collection of spotless games and consoles old and new cost fortune. And buying most of them only in 2 years (not like collecting all his life like most) tells it all. Oh well, with money you get anything since human's has created money and made it as God.

NICE collection.... I love the fact that you didn't lie about finding "sealed stadium club" for $6 under some old books at a local garage sale. It bothers me to see so many people lie about "AMAZING CRAIGSLIST PICKUPS" where they found 70 SNES games with5 consoles for $20. This is a very expensive hobby and you are doing amazing!!!!!!!!

So very true. I can't say I've been THAT lucky but there are a couple of items in my collection that I got for insanely cheap. My best example is that I bought a large lot of video games for $300 and in it was a copy of chrono trigger loose. It averaged out to $5 per game in this lot. Once in a life time opportunity there. But yeah....most of my collection was purchased at retro video game stores and thrifting. Trust me though, the vast majority of games that I purchased from the thrift store are xbox 360, PS3, and wii games. Not the good ones either :) I've found less than 10 total cartridges at a thrift store. I've never seen a saturn game or a sega CD game at a thrift store or garage sale. The agony of being a newer collector is WISHING i could have purchased some of these older games at retail haha :) thanks for the comment and hope to see you around!

Going for the Guinness World Record you say, time to buy a new house again. ;) +7000 games in two years, that's over 10 games a day. If you can keep that tempo it would take at least another four years to reach the current record holder. Nonetheless, awesome collection! I am subscribing, should be some great updates rather regular. Good luck man! Don't forget to play some as well.

Thanks! I'm up for the challenge. I'm in it for the long haul. I fully expect to take 5+ years before I even consider calling Guinness to my house. I want to use this channel (and other platforms like Twitch) to document my road to getting Guinness to my house and doing the count. This is going to be one crazy trip! I'm really looking forward to it though. Thanks for the comment and appreciate the compliment :)

Wow! You like your shelves and games presented nice and tidy like I do. I also place some games facing forward as stops on my shelves, and I also replace beat up game cases with clean replacements. One major difference is that your collection is like 10x the size of mine, and I've been collecting for 15 years! I am nearing completion of my first set (Xbox 360) with 150 games left. I also have just under 600 Wii titles. After watching this, I am inspired!

Large collection but could use some help with the aesthetics. I would slow it down and diversify with some unique pieces that set things apart. Otherwise it will be hard to shake that Gamestop look (unless that's the plan). Break up the rows of shelves, get some lighting in there, add an arcade/candy cab or two, artwork, etc... as some examples.

I absolutely love it when games create a complete picture on the spine (example is the .hack series for PS2) or, better yet, when the front cover forms a complete picture (think star ocean for PSP). Some games are just not meant to be displayed spine out. Star Ocean is a prime example of that!!!! Thanks for your comment!

Amazing video. I'm very curious about the power switchers and hdmi switchers. Who manufactures them? Where did you buy them? I'm wondering if I can find them on Amazon. I subscribed and am looking forward to watching your collection grow throughout the years. Thank you so much for the great video content. I recently finished collecting a complete North America Xbox 360 collection. I'm 19 games away from a complete Wii U collection as well. RU-vid knows me very well because they recommended this video to me at the top of my feed. Good luck with the world record goal. At your current rate it looks like you're going to get there.

@@PocketFullofGames Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Do you have the power switchers plugged into a surge protector or directly into a wall outlet? In an Amazon review someone claimed the power switcher is not a surge protector even though "surge protector" is in the title. I'm going to work on reorganizing my entertainment system and would like to have 18 consoles hooked up to two of the power switchers. I worry about starting a fire by having two power switchers plugged into a surge protector, but it's the only way for me to have everything connected. My 360 collection is just the North American collection. It's about 1200 games and other 200 that are some kind of "special edition." Where did you get the list of around 2400 games? I'd be very grateful to see if there's anything I'm missing. I'm looking forward to future videos to see how the collection grows. I'll make sure to buy the power switchers through your affiliate link. Thanks again.

@anunusualironiccircumstanc2246
@anunusualironiccircumstanc2246 4 года назад
CursedTeardrop it’s not that, it’s the fact Americans/Canadians have bigger areas, and also less competition to purchase video games, thus making them cheaper. America/Canada are much bigger countries and have had a lot more games sent to areas than the Uk. There is also less people per area than the UK, especially in the suburbs. Having bigger rooms for more games make it more impressive compared to the small houses/rooms here in the UK.

You know, honestly, I'm not at all excited that it looks like a Gamestop but I just don't know how to NOT make it look like that especially since I have movie rental shelves for aisles. But, to answer your question, never will I open a store :) 99.3% of the items you see in this video are in my own collection. People have said "open a store" a lot. I'd like to think of this collection as my retirement plan. As in, once I retire, I will have so many options for fun. Just walk into my own "Gamestop" and browse like the "days of old". Because, lets face it, video game stores aren't likely to be around when I retire. At least I'll have my own store to shop from when I want to browse for a game :)

As a person that grinds everyday to get good collection pieces; I can tell that this dude just buys everything rare on eBay and buys the fillers in game stores. Real collectors will easily sniff this guy out. I and many other collectors earned their collections and pieced them together painfully everyday and this dude just pulls out his platinum card. Buying a collection is a lot different than collecting.
@PocketFullofGames
@PocketFullofGames 3 года назад
I'd like to see if I can get some clarity here. When you say that you are "grinding every day to get good collecting pieces" are you implying that I'm not working hard to monitor, manage, maintain, and acquire this collection? When you say I just "buy everything rare on eBay and buys the fillers in game stores" are you implying that every rare game I have in my collection came from eBay? I keep track of where I get every single game in my collection. Doing a very quick search in my database shows me that I have purchased exactly 56 titles of my (at the time) 7500+ games in my collection. The most valuable thing I purchased on eBay was a LOOSE copy of Suikoden II because I already owned the case and manual. I paid $65 for my LOOSE copy so that I can make the game complete. Is there a crime in paying $65 for a copy of this game? I'm also confused about "Real collectors will easily sniff this guy out". What do you mean by this? That I'm not a collector? I promise you when I say I have put my heart and soul into my collection every day since August 2017 but because I have only been collecting for this amount of time then my collection is somehow not worth acknowledging as a collection because I moved quickly? When you say "Buying a collection is a lot different than collecting" are you implying that I purchased thousands of items in one purchase? Let me enlighten you. Looking through my database once again, I see that I have 432 items purchased from a thrift store, 196 items from a garage sale, and 1650 items from Facebook marketplace covering over 1000 different transactions. Do you honestly think that I just purchased someone's collection and took over? Hardly sir. I started in August 2017 with about 300 games. At the time of this recording (February 2020) I have worked, scraped, dug, and filled my collection with a lot of drive, determination, and purpose. If you are unsure of this, I invite you to dig into some of the other videos on this channel where every single week I can show you not only what games I purchased, but also where I got them from. That is, if you are truly interested in finding out the truth rather than just watching a few minutes of someone's life and making assumptions based on preconceived notions that surely nobody can work hard and acquire this many items by just working your tail off to achieve a goal. Thanks for your time and I invite any response to clarify some of your statements.
@PocketFullofGames
@PocketFullofGames 3 года назад
@4 Dogs Retro Games & Toys So.....again....I'd like to get some clarity here. Perhaps you didn't read my reply to the gentleman above? If not, I invite you to do so. I also invite you to take five minutes of your time and look at my other videos to see whether or not I have passion for this hobby. You are saying that just because I've only been collecting for a short time that I'm not a collector? That is the exact same thing as going up to a rookie of the year sports player and telling him that he or she is not a real sports player because they haven't been doing it as long as other other people on the field.......I'm completely baffled by the absolute lack of factual statements based on assumptions. I've been gaming for over 35 years of my life. I have had a passion for video games (as I have said repeatedly during this exact video) but because I only recently had the means to go after a life long dream of collecting video games then that makes me not have passion for the hobby? Please enlighten me on how you justify your words on the internet. People are good for that kind of thing :) Oh....I watched a couple of your videos. You and I are the same....whether you like it or not. We enjoy the same things and take the same actions when going into stores. Sorry man. I hate to break it to you.
@PocketFullofGames
@PocketFullofGames 3 года назад
@4 Dogs Retro Games & Toys *sigh* ok man. so this is where I just have to throw my hands up, realize that A) you don't know me and B) you have no idea about facts and just want to inject your own personal idea of who I am and what I'm about. I'm a life long gamer. AND a new collector. Yes. Its possible that NEW collectors belong in this hobby as well. This elitist status that you've labeled yourself and others that EXCLUDE people are precisely the reason why people don't want to get into this hobby. What. I'm not good enough to call myself a collector? Cool man. You do you. I'll continue to be me. You enjoy bringing others into the hobby your way (if they pass your requirements that is...) and I'll enjoy sharing what its like to be a new collector in today's market. That cool for you dude? @PocketFullofGames 4 года назад
Appreciate the comment! The way I see it, even the "shovelware" titles were someone's game that brings them fond memories of a time when things were less stressful for them. They can look at a Zoo title that they played when they were younger and think to themselves "man, I played the crap out of that when I was younger". What is shovelware to you might be the game that changed someone's life. Its all a matter of opinion and the thing I don't do is discriminate :) I never enjoyed playing Barbie games. But when I look at a Barbie game, it brings me back to the time when my daughter and I would play Barbie Horse Adventures on the original Xbox and it brings me joy and happiness. This is one of many examples of why I choose to collect ALL games instead of "good" games :)
@tr1bes
@tr1bes 4 года назад
@@PocketFullofGames good point. I, however don't want to collect Action 52. It's expensive and a buggy mess. That's why there is the everdrives. Some games are just too expensive to collect. EX. Neogeo and Saturn games. The libraries of so many consoles are endless. We still don't even know the extent of library of the Atari 2600 because some games are limited to 1, 10 and or some programmers just work it out in their garage that never saw the light of day. I would never want to collect like John Hancock where I fill up the garage with very little space to move. That's just pure insane. Even getting the good games are harder to get because $$$ doesn't grow on tree. I would like to get Panzer Dragoon Saga but paying $1000 is too much for 1 game. My wife would kill me if I get it. I can put it on a credit card but justifying for the purchase. I have none.
