2020 Yamaha MT-03 | First Ride 

Got this for my first bike experience a couple months ago and no regrets. VERY fun and VERY good for beginners. Lots of fundamentals to learn and build upon. I’m 5’8 and 32 inseam and my ankle/calf is feeling a bit cramped. No windshield so expect lots of buffeting at higher speeds. Engine revs high almost always, so long freeway rides get buzzy and feel “labored” on the engine. 80 MPH = 8500-8600 RPM. Light weight. Forgiving throttle. Good torque/power response. About 54 MPG. Not meant for full tuck, more 3/4 and upright sit stance. Priced VERY competitively at less than $5k, and you get a lot for what you pay for. More of a short sprinter as opposed to cruising and long touring. Expect to shift A LOT as the gearing is super short 5th and 6th are pretty much overdrive. Nimble, fun, economical, and FUNNNNN

Great review! I’ve enjoyed mine a lot but really appreciate someone else having good things to say about it and not only saying it’s for beginners. I’ve been riding for a while but still have a blast on it.

I think it’s great idea to put hands on “little” bike sometimes.. lot of fun!!! Great video! Also saw that KTM Duke 390 is interesting choice due to the new electronics and also the better components straight out of the production, also some of the 401 husqvarnas! What do you think? And yes I agree the brakes are not that great feeling, luckily this bike has a lot of engine brake!

I recommend getting the front cowl, I have mine installed and it makes the bike look even more aggressive!

Nice man. I have a Full Hindle system, tst fender eliminitor, new turn signals, intergrated taillight, and it's a blast man. Planning on same engine mods to mine as well. Got over 2K miles on mine! Side note I had to do the same mod to the lower cowl that you all did.

I like the new headlight design mt-03. Is the new headlight interchangeable to 1st generation mt-03? It would be nice if can convert my 1st generation mt-03 to 2nd generation mt-03 headlight.

Sorry, but why didn't you just buy the KTM 390 in the first place? By the time you get done with the MT-03 you could almost afford a Goldwing, not to mention you will void your warranty with that many modifications.

Why would you do all these mods to such a small bike it does not make any sense I've had 1000cc bikes 800cc bikes why don't you just buy the bike and enjoy it instead of doing all these mods on such a small machine it just doesn't make no sense to me but you know it is what it is I guess
