I agree i have ride both ( but r6 is so much better and i"m not saying that because i own one , is just something special with r6 , sound , power delivery...looks amazing also

@Flash Vinnig Is just my opinion my friend and i have ride more bikes than you seen in photos ;) I will choose r6 100 times from 100 .Ducati is getting hot also . Is a superb bike don't get me wrong but majority of people will choose r6 , why ?

@Flash Vinnig I have paid 12.000 pounds for my r6 here in uk . Ducati v2 is around 14.000 pounds so the difference is not that big . V2 is a fantastic bike and a beauty ..but r6 is r6 better for the road better for the track i have full Akrapovic exhaust Gp titanium..is sound amazing i have ecu flash...i have save 6 kg in weight and the power my bike makes now is incredible....Ducati is alo an amazing bike but i just prefer an r6 .

So I happen to have Both. I absolutely find that the Ducati is very very fun and agile to accelerate, but the R6 definitely runs cooler and feel lighter. Ducati has weight in the front of the bike so I don't feel it as nimble. I enjoy the R6 more for a daily ride around but the Ducati is the bike I take on rides where we will go a little faster (avoiding slow or stopped rides due to heat) .

you think that weight difference makes up for 15hp and over 40nm of torque.. the weight would need to be 60 pounds at best, ive owned a r6 and no way in hell it can keep up with an 899 let alone an 959, the r6 might feel as fast to you due to riding position, even in the clip you posted that ducati on the track was already catching you man, not to be rude just saying owning many bikes the r6 is great but it cant compare to a 959 in terms of perfomance

It’s also worth mentioning that when comparing acceleration + weight to power ratio,, we should be comparing factory curb weight of both bikes. Not modified R6 vs 959 stock weight.

Petrohead, What’s up bro!!! Great video. I think the R6 looks awesome definitely like that higher RPM power band as well so my favorite would be leaning toward the R6 compared to the Ducati because I do not want my backside on fire consistently. I prefer a smooth ride compared to a rough ride anyway that’s just me speaking personally. I now own a brand new 2022 Aprilia RS 660 Apex black with a full titanium exhaust with a carbon fiber tip CRT-1 with a Sprint Filter and many mods as well. I would like to see you get your hands on that model and compare to the R6 and tell me what your thoughts are. I enjoy my bike there’s only one thing that I don’t like about it and it’s the vibration in the mirrors over 4000RPS, that’s it. I would love to find a way to eliminate that or stop that but with keeping the mirrors intact. Let me know what you think and I look forward to that video so please do the research to get your hands on that I would very much like to hear your thoughts and riding experience on that bike. Hey bro, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, its a 2 banger and they tend to vibrate. Even on my new RSV4, mirrors and upper fairing vibrate.. I guess its an Aprilia thing... I'll try to get my hands on one. Thanks.

I wonder what will Yamaha do for the R series sportsbike, they have a very huge gap between the R3 - R1 since R6 was discontinued.

I think there was an R7 before, it was kind of a rare bike.

The R6 has been discontinued. The 959's name changed and it got some minor updates.

The updates are major, not minor. All new electronics, body style and geometry. Borrowed engine with small changes is the only thing carried over. Watch my comparison video of the two.

My dream has always been to own an R6, but unfortunately I live in Brazil and it was discontinued in 2012. I really wanted to buy an R6 and bring it here, but there are so many taxes that I would buy an R1 with the final value, in addition to being discontinued in 2020. If anyone knows how to help me with this, I'd be immensely grateful!

The R6 is a better bike than the R1 (R1 has more power but if power makes a bike better than even some Harley’s are better than R6/R1) if it’s your dream bike.. buy it.. only one life. Enjoy it

Local dealers offering great deals on 2020 stock Kawi ZX6 think you could compare ur R6 to it? I know you road your friends moded one like to hear your thoughts on a new one to your R6 take the BASE one out those have the best deals

My 2020 r6 gets very warm, it was almost roasting my ankles, it is also 95 degrees out side in Vegas

Get an ecu flash so they lower the fan to trigger below 200f..

Comparing a bike that is highly modified I be less weight and and faster vs a stock bike isn’t worth anything. Put a full titanium exhaust, air filter, lithium ion battery, and Btmoto tune on the 959 and let’s see the results.
