FYI For anyone that might be searching for an answer for this question…….this newer 2021+ version will fit a 2019 Super Crew 5.0 like a glove (2018-2020) I Received the newer kit by mistake from Roush and it’s definitely a smarter more efficient design than the previous (double exhaust pipe) version. Less pipes, less hangers, less clamps and therefore less weight and install time. Even the harness for the active valve is the same!
(Related to my other question) Is this the LOUD Roush version or the QUIETER version? In other words, would buying the variable valve system give me a quieter option with this install, or a louder one? When watching the video, it appears the alternate pathway comes open, which would cause me to believe this is the loud version. A blocker valve would allow you to choose a quieter one. But maybe I’m missing something. So, is this the LOUD Roush, or the QUIETER Roush? 😅
I have a 2021 Roush XLT that does not have the variable exhaust option. Can I simply remove the blocker from in front of the muffler to get the louder sound? (OR, does it come standard in the loud or open version with no blocker?) Visually it appears there’s a black block that could be removed but don’t want to screw something up! I could, for example, simply remove the blocker (if there) and try out the louder exhaust, and replace it if I preferred the quieter version. As it is, my stock Roush version sounds fantastic, but I’d love to try out the louder version if it’s unplug-and-play. Thank you!
