CANT WAIT For the type S , my first ever car was an 08 TL TYPE S and that car changed my life forever. Such a beautiful car and amazing driving dynamics. Made me a car guy . Wow this type s is getting me really pumped
Yea my friend a high curb weight car on an amazing chassis and suspension setup leads to one of the best feeling cars out on the street. It's a sensation nobody really talks about
I had this car in Blue w/ red seats. It was VERY fun car to drive. Not really any complaints. You definitely will get a lot of looks and compliments without a doubt. And the Sports mode 🔥🔥
Hey man just wanted to say this review is honestly the best review on RU-vid and was a main factor for me ultimately test driving and buying the vehicle. Loving the car so far, thanks a lot!
I’m actually an owner of the exact same color on this video on my 21 TLX A-Spec SH-AWD. Everything you said in this video.. I can agree as well. Very fun to drive and that Type S is going to be insane. Keep bringing new content 💯
Great review...the only thing I’m disappointed with is lack of power adjustable steering wheel and that push buttons shifter. Other than that seems like a great car and can’t wait for Type S review.
@@doomgrave1 The 8 speed dual clutch in the TLX was much smoother and quicker to shift than the ancient 6 speed auto in my Lexus. The seats were alot more comfortable in the TLX. A lot more leg room and space in general. better Gas mileage, having memory seats, etc. Im def nitpicking lol but all those things matter over time in a daily driver. With that said I would probably still pick the IS due to its exterior and interior design, its just to sexy to me.
@@aman.khan22 great comparison! Thanks for sharing. I'm debating between Lexus and acura. 2016 Acuras are about $5k cheaper than a comparable Lexus IS so I'm tempted to stick to Acura.
@@doomgrave1 Here’s the thing about the engines. There’s definitely pros and cons to both. The pros of that 4 cylinder in the Acura was that it actually produced the same horsepower at the 2.5 v6 in my Lexus rn. And and gas mileage was ALOT better. I got like 27 combined in the Acura ON REGULAR GAS. Whereas in the Lexus, the 2.5 v6 has the same like 200 horsepower, but with those extra cylinders I avg about 21mpg on PREMIUM, so my fill ups are like $40 lol and I have to fill up more often, however the pros of the v6 in the Lexus Is that it’s much smoother than the Acura 4 cylinder, literally buttery smooth, and sounds a lot better, and is one of their most bulletproof engines due to how ancient it is and the high maintenance care it requires. Logically the Acura makes the most sense, but I still don’t regret my decision. Hope that helps!
Looooove the styling on this car (esp the trim), and even better that it comes in SH-AWD. Acura and Subaru white proly my two fave brands when it comes to white paint as well, this car is no exception. Great vid!
Great video, I really liked the editing you did for this too especially the music I think adds a lot even if it's a small thing keep up the good work dawg, and I'm really glad you said something about those seats because I was thinking the exact same thing I really like how everything on this car looks bro
Drove both this and the 2021 IS 350 AWD. Ended up with the IS - it just drives and feels so much more premium. Plus how can you beat the sound of an NA engine (although slightly pumped through the speakers) - you can't.
Nice! I haven't tried the new 2021 yet but I really want to and yes V6 is glorious wish Acura still offered one. Acura for me makes the most sense leased or bought CPO
@@MeynMotorGroup Please line up a review for the 2021 IS! The TLX A-Spec in Canada doesn't get the Adaptive Damper System whereas my IS does (Adaptive Variable Suspension). So in corners with the TLX you can definitely feel the body roll - a bit too "springy" feeling. Whereas the IS is completely flat in corners and doesn't dive forward when breaking. It's truly something else.
@@Sleepyboiwonder The IS feels more planted around corners, lovely V6 sound (although pumped through speakers slightly), interior materials feel more premium, drives more nimble, acceleration feels smoother, looks better from all angles.
This car desperately needs pilot sport all season 4. I put those on my accord, and the grip and steering transformed... It's more direct and communicative. Imagine those on this car. ... Yeah, I wish honda wasn't so conservative with tires.
@@alexl.102 I have the v6 in my accord. There's less torque steer, more grip, and more responsiveness in the dry and wet. They're not great in the snow, but they're doing nicely here in New York. Maybe for summer tires I'll get the pilot sport 4s on 19s... I can only imagine the behavior of those
@@ganzonomy yeah the v6 are prone to have tons of torque steer. I know i still get it sometimes with civic since its tuned and has tons of torque but they really help with exit acceleration and braking.
This doesn't look like a bad deal, hopefully the type s won't be priced too crazy i would just wait on that, but the a spec seems like a great option for the majority, i would just throw on a nice set of wheels 👌🏾
Shame we don't get Acura here in UK even the Accord has been discontinued here, would definitely Consider this after my Lexus GS450h f Sport, would not consider the ES300h that the GS has been replaced with here.. or Lexus SUVs. The GS F is as rare as hens teeth the odd 1 comes up for sale on Auto trader but is expensive to tax yearly. I love sports sedans fast, comfortable space for the family and a big boot (trunk) it's going to be another German car which are king here when it comes to luxury cars
Yes actually your Accords for the longest times were our Acura TSX it is sad that they stopped production of the Accord for you guys. German cars can be fun at least certain models here in the States most lease them.
I’ve seen so many comments now of people wishing Acura was in Europe. Unfortunately I don’t think they’d ever go there. In the US most people lease the German brands like Mercedes, BMW, and Audi. While they actually buy Acura and Lexus because they are reliable.
Just leased this exact one 2 weeks ago same color and everything. Love the car. Miss my old v6 though. My only issue with this car is the exhaust note. Can't hear nothing
Yea new cars drive great but the problem with these new models is most are turbocharged and they sound like vacuum cleaners compared to the naturally aspirated engines. Turbos just muffle the sound this car would be epic with the old V6
I watched this and am going to check out a TLX tomorrow. Considering it for a daily driver,I modded my LC500 too much to be able to drive it everyday. You’ve got great taste, Kev! Thanks for the help with this perspective! 🫡🙏🏾
I want this car badly but want to see the Type-S before I make a decision. It looks like the car gives a special feel of a German luxury car without being a Euro brand. It’s also got some pedigree considering the 80s/90s golden era Honda/Acura heritage.
Type- s is nice but I know the maintenance will be different than the aspec especially with those brembro brakes, also considerably more to insure a sports car
Solid Car, would take this TLX over the current Lexus IS, but the ES is Superior. The ES has a lot more features than the TLX (i.e. pano roof, rear seat Usb's, window shades, etc..)
Yea I think the ES is def a lot more luxury tho def won't handle and drive as well as the TLX the 2021 IS Im pretty interested in as I believe that will be a more sporty direct competitor to this
Drove this and the A4. No comparison with throttle response. The A4 power comes on instantaneous while the TLX has like a delay. Must be just the a superior transmission. It’s a shame because the TLX is more comfortable but The A4 beats it everywhere else hands down.
Hey man, my car decision is coming down to 3.3t Stinger or this A-Spec TLX. They are the same price where I live. In your experience, which car rides smoother on broken horrible pavement better? Also did the new 2021 Stinger you tested have any creaks/rattles? I currently have a 2018 C300 which creaks and rattles like an old wooden boat, so really trying to avoid that with my next car, it drives me crazy
Hey my friend I would choose the TLX for sure ride is smoother and interior is far more rigid. Stinger will begin to rattle after a year of ownership but the 2021 Stinger did get revised suspension so it's much better than the 2018. Still, TLX is my choice
It's honestly the perfect amount of speed for the streets. Anymore and you're just going to drive around with clenched cheeks worrying if a cop is going to see you
ES is definitely a polar opposite to the TLX since the TLX is going for sports sedan and ES is pure luxury and no driving dynamics. I would be very curious to see how this TLX stacks up against the new IS
now this was a car i would get in 15 years from now if Acura was in Europe , looks so good and you cant go wrong with a Honda . But i get it selling 3 cars per year maybe isnt the business they looking for :D
@@MeynMotorGroup i didnt know it but its pretty standard for brands to do that , honestly i think i see more civic type R's on the road than regular modern hondas . Old ones is a different story theres alot on the roads and we acutally have a pretty big honda tuning culture here as well
i didn't know you reviewed this car lol...i just test drove this... its a sleeper of a car i think... i like how the front hood has that aggressive crease on it
Yeah it may be underrated a bit on power. They know what they're doing with their loyal customers that come back for more. That's what's awesome about Honda and Acura, their little Easter eggs.
Seems like a good product. I don't know if this would be on my list if I was looking for a luxury sedan. There's a lot of good competition out there. At least it doesn't have the beak face anymore.
For sure my friend there is absolutely a lot of competition now. I think when this vehicle is optioned with Sh-awd it really transforms the drive to a unique experience it also helps that these Acuras usually lease cheaper but def lots to choose from
Oh ahaha no my bad, I wasn’t too clear. I meant with a 9th gen accord v6 and the 10th gen em with the 2.0T. I’m curious to see what you would personally prefer since the turbo has less horsepower but lots of low end torque. Also comparing this with a Type S would be a good video too once they finally start to roll out
Hmm I wouldn't say it's a successor to Lexus Acura has definitely developed their own unique feel in the industry def something to try out I think you will like how this car reacts to your inputs. Since you're coming from thr power of a 450h the Type S might be something to wait for
So you didn't have any massive delays with the transmission if you were cursing on the freeway and punched it? The last gen TLX was terrible when downshifting and skipping gears, like this. And I've seen some reviews still complaining about it. Hopefully they fixed that though.
@@MeynMotorGroup -- Cool man. Yeah, as long as the transmission behavior is predictable, that's the main thing. Seems like a nice car -- can't wait for the V6!
I was quite disappointed at how little room there is in this car and decided not to buy it for that reason . It feels cramped inside snide compared to my 2nd gen tsx even though it has 4” longer wheelbase
Coming from an Acura RL, this car was an utter disspaointment for me. Test drove the technology package and it drives like a civic. Kept struggling for the right gear, bumpy ride, underwhelming engine noise. Not like the good ol RL
Interesting thoughts. I haven't had any of that type experience so far. The 10 speed auto seems like it's hitting at the right spots. The torque in this car is pretty good. I've had three j35 v6s in a row and I can tell you I do not miss it. I know that past engine very well as far as how it performed.
All it does in most cars is put you in a lower gear and waste more fuel because 95% of the time you're just going to be cruising at 45 mph. In sport mode you will be churning like 2500 rpms as opposed to like 1700 rpm in normal mode. Just wasting fuel for that 1% opportunity of needing power. I want cars to be reactive enough in normal
The trunk is terrible!! There are no hooks or anything to add a cargo net. Also when using the inside handle to close it, you have to use a lot of force!!
@@MeynMotorGroup no but just material quality and the looks of it makes me wanna stay away. I appreciate you and your reviews just not a fan of this car or Acura as a brand
Your arms are way too squished up against you. Put the steering farther or back up the seat. Your arms should not be doing a 90 degree when holding the steering. Also if you get in a crash your gonna feel the airbag being that close. Its gonna knock you the F out lol
@@MeynMotorGroup No prob bro about to watch now long day traveling thru the snow storm we had holler back after watching about my opinion and your reply 👍🏾👍🏾
@@MeynMotorGroup Yupp my only car right now bro but was kind of surprised got thru eat smoothly and without snow tires at that lol I gained even more love for my LS430 as if I needed any more lol 💎👍🏾👍🏾
Incredible bro I keep telling you that things a keeper it really proved itself in that snow storm 😅 I knew it would get through fine with snow tires but very impressed it did it with just all seasons that's awesome 👌
@@MeynMotorGroup if you think anything new from Honda or Acura is a quality product then you have been living under a rock for the last decade or so. For Acura it might be two decades.
@@MeynMotorGroup body has so many gap lines in it , which creates so much noise coming in , idk bro i see Acura on the roads I don’t see any big diffrence from Honda on it
@@dfhhtyu3434 have you had a chance to test drive one and see the interior? Most reviewers have given the interior high marks on the quality as being higher end. The suspension is a double wishbone which they did not have in the last generation which is absolutely an upgrade. And that's not all.
@@dfhhtyu3434and that was a TL and not a TLX..lol The comments are about this car being a TLX and this is the first double wishbone in a TLX. They had McPherson struts in the last gen. This also has nothing to do with the current or past Accords platforms. With the mention of not seeing any big difference from a TLX and Accord.. Are there some similarities in body styles? One can say there may be, but again this gen TLX is a brand new exclusive chassis and other features.
@@MeynMotorGroup I have an es so I just used that as a benchmark on some fanboy shit. But be honest regular ppl buy cars off looks , space & driving feel. Not like anybody would buy a Tlx for a Weeknd warrior Lls. Cus it’s not a sporty car it’s a daily driver. They’ll definitely be cross shopped
@@MeynMotorGroup ha ha. One would think so due to how I talk down on the brand.... so many people I know are fans of them... maybe that’s why lol. I like your bmw gran coupe. I have gran coupe as well
But is there something in particular you didn't like or an experience? I had some reliability issues got it covered under warranty for the TSX and TLX dealer support helped. Driving is probably what Honda Acura does best, interiors were sub par til now. Yea that Bimmer was nice not a fan of the new grill tho 😂
