Oof, just checked out the configurator. Almost €54.000 for an S-line Sportback with some nice options. Then again, the Golf was easily 46.000 as well so it does make sense in their overall line-up. Just a bit shocking how these prices seem to increase exponentially with each generation.

Excellent video but the boot size you quote is for the standard cars, not MHEV hybrid versions. The Sportback (hatchback) shrinks from 380 to 280 litres for hybrid and Saloon down from 480 to 425 litres. This is a deal breaker for me if deciding between these two models. 280 litres is simply too small. I would choose the saloon for that reason.

It's sad how VW/Audi cheaped out in interior materials in the Golf Mk. 8 and new A3, as you shown in the video, the top part of the door in the rear is hard plastic, I recently checked the previous generation A3 Sedan an it was a soft touch materials, but it's not just that, you see how they use these gloss plastics in the Audi and very poor looking center console in the Golf 8, for example.
