Thanks for the honest review, surprised at the number of issues, I’ve just cleared my finance on my 68 plate A3 and I’ve never had any issues so I’m planning to keep it long term, too much new tech and cost cutting at VAG these days by the sounds of it!

The moral of the story of which has always been the case , is don’t jump right into considerable design changes for at least 7-8 months. Let others feedback the pain so you can enjoy the rectified gain 😆.. Great review , thanks 👍

Looking at an A3 Sportback. Nice to know the problems and a good honest review. I’ve had two Seat Leon’s before and had similar problems to the A3 you have. I’ve also had two VW Golfs and my current GTD Estate has had nothing go wrong after 50,000 miles. Going to look at the Golf R-Line aswell. At least that has adaptive cruise control as standard.

Really interesting. I currently own a BMW 1 Series registered 09 2020 and it’s not bothered me with any issues. Updates operating system and maps easily. Much like my experience of owning three Audi A3s from 2009 to 2016. it’s a shame to hear about the electrical issues in the new model.

Great video, it's making me really nervous though! I think mines due end of January (35TFSI Ed 1 Manual Sportback) but all theses issues people are getting are making me worried. How long do you get to actually reject a car? I'm coming from my 1.6 2016 manual A3 which has been a pure joy to have so I was reluctant in the first place to swap and been slightly regretting my decision

Great review, new sub here, was looking at purchasing A3 saloon.. Currently have mazda 3 Saloon and wanted something a bit more of eye catching like this but with a premium like audi you shouldn't be having teething issues, seems like these new modern cars have very cheap parts being installed.. I'll stear clear for the time being, also find cars that are black interior very chlostraphobic,.. Mine currently has a cream roof lining makes so much difference.

The driver orientated cockpit, dashboard and Infotainment pretty solid comes from BMW who have this as a standard for many decades now.

I’ve just taken delivery of a 2020 Audi A3 sport line with the Bang and Olson with the comfort to the sound pack I was a little bit miffed when I have the vehicle to find there are no mid range drivers in the front doors all the vocal come from the front windscreen speakers and it just seems a bit lacking with no mid range drivers in the front doors I happen to drive an A4 as a courtesy car with bang and Olson in it and that one had mid rang drivers in the doors but the A3 apparently doesn’t :-( something to be aware of?

Holy crap, I've watched the video and read the comments and now I'm really scared. I've ordered mine 3 weeks ago and the delivery is set at the end of february. Hopefully they're gonna fix most problems up then.

Hi, about the electric seats disappointment - did you select the option for electric seat adjustment OR did you expect it to be standard? As far as the configurator for my market (Southern Africa) this is optional. Can’t your local dealer update the software to the May 2020 version?

I had the warning lights thing too… fixed by audi now… was a bad battery which is now replaced… seems to be a more frequent issue it seems

I expect the issues your experiencing are in part due to working conditions in and around Covid times and the fact that this is the new generation of the A3. Still annoying for sure, especially the warning messages. My 2018 A3 Sline has had a couple of minor issues but it was a facelift and final version before the big changes, but consequently it's 'went out of date' in just two years of me owning it. Agree with the indicator and cruise control stalks, they could be further apart to stop accidental turn off / on of either. On a close look at the chrome trim I was surprised how badly it lines up between the doors and the body, not great accuracy. Still like the car and people are always impressed when they sit inside it. It's minimalist clean lines and clutter free design give it an air of luxury for sure. The new interior is a bit more 'techno' than I'd like but hey I guess that's progress! If I renew then I'd go for the Edition 1, I'm sure. Saw your vid on the Sline, Edition 1 and Vorsprung and it was really useful, well worth a watch for A3 enthusiasts.

11:01 Why are you surprised? You didn't slam the door hard enough. That's why it didn't close properly. It doesn't have softclose of course, so just pushing it shut won't work.

Well, took delivery of mine last Saturday and keep getting random anti theft alarm going off... 6x Saturday, 2x Sunday, 7x Thursday, 18x today. Also, the centre console tonight has decided to not boot up at all. Yesterday I booked in for Tuesday to look at the alarm but I'm going to go up first thing tomorrow and pretty much chuck them keys and tell them to keep it until it's fixed. Really really annoyed and disheartened because I was already hesitant getting it

Very honest review. Brand new stuff always has faults guys! PS5 is the same. If you get the first 2020 A3. You are always gonna be a guinea pig! Poor from Audi though

Well after 3 months find that my mean problems are the program which it’s like spot the fault on MMI system back to Audi garage 4 times and 2 times call out nothing has changed still have the same problems and Audi said until Audi makes improvements they said they can do nothing .Under warranty so bye.I like the design but not the has problems even the radio cuts out when playing still what next.

Well about this car went in for more programme faults and the dealer ship disconnected cam/car recorder front and back fitted Halfords they said this was breaking the warrant and was unsafe so contacted Halfords and they reconnected same,this is what I say what’s Audi all about fix the real problem of the MMI systems on your cars and this system from Halfords contacted Audi garage to ask what was the problem of safety. They said it was not put on car so makes it out with warranty.good job it was not an exhaust or tyres .

One other slightly odd thing I’ve noticed which irritates me - the control rocker switches for the air con climate controls don’t seem to light up at night.. it’s like they forgot to put lights in them! Is yours the same? Do you think it’s on purpose or another small error?

Had my A3 less than an hour when the MMI froze. Then in subsequent days had several warnings. So many that I refused to drive it and had it towed to the dealer. “Software Update” apparently fixed it... I’ll wait and see. Apple car play also flickers the screen on and off all the time when using it. Going back to the dealer again. Very tempted to reject the car.
