Have had my Hybrid plug-in for 1 week. 502 miles driven so far. 226 on electric, 276 on hybrid. Used half a tank of gas. Will get 800 miles, at least, before the next fill-up. Amazing.
@@Unchainedmaple888 I don’t know about this model year, but my 2014 Grand Caravan has 200k on it and runs fine. Dodge and Chrysler get a bad rap, but I think it’s undeserved
If only FCA would make their vehicles more reliable, they would be killing it!!! They have good designs, practicality, but reliability brings down their game.
@@hottew_twat3963Chrysler products consistently fall short in reliability and longevity ratings from pretty much every company that does auto data. The Chrysler vans (statistically) tend to prerform better than any of their other products though.
I love that Micah and Evie actually fucking like each other. Every marriage shown in media they hate each other, it’s nice that these people get along and work together!
Not only does Stow N Go work great, but the cargo area with the seats down was specifically designed to fit 4x8 sheets of drywall or plywood. There are even little guide notches at the opening. It's such a versatile vehicle, and arguably the most versatile in it's segment.
Is it weird that as a single guy with zero use for a minivan I somehow want one of these? It must be those screaming red seats. Also, maybe Evie might want one of those instead of the Bronco now (being its so good in snow)?
If I were single I'd probably have one..lol I always thought they were great and comfortable as hell both to drive and ride in. My wife refuses to even look at minivans and we only have one kid so SUV it is.
@@Mildern I actually know a single woman in our little gang of friends who bought a Honda Odyssey. We all asked her why she did and she said she was making sure she would always be invited when the gang went out to eat or the movies or road trips. We did end up using her van quite a lot! lol
The dealership I work at usually has one or two of these pre-owned coming off their leases and I'm always impressed by how nice the interiors are. Those two-tone colors go a long way to keeping it from feeling boring, and the materials all feel of reasonably high quality.
We love Chrysler vans, very comfortable and reliable I've had them for years and put over 300k on a couple of them on original motor and Trans with just basic maintenance.
I cannot imagine anyone driving a Chrysler over 100K miles. These things disintegrate. They are not Toyota. This looks like a sales pitch from a dealer. I will gladly lease one though.
@@swimgc I am a used car dealer actually. And I've also had several Camry's as personal cars and I think they are probably the most reliable cars you can get. And I don't disagree that Chrysler has some cars that aren't great. But As far as reliability I would put a town & Country right up there with a Camry. I've seen it first hand and had a bunch of them. They can take a lot of abuse and just keep on trucking! And as a bonus parts for them are really cheap. Believe whatever you want but imo they are affordable Roomy comfortable and A great choice!
@@swimgc come to México and you will see thousands of Chrysler minivans even 1990 models with much more than 300k miles. And they are still running. They were imported from the US through the last 25 years... On the other hand you can watch the crash tests videos here in youtube by the IIHS applied to HondaOdissey, Chrysler Pacífica and Toyota Sienna... And look which one will be almost "desintegrated".
I only wish the car was better made. They have terrible reliability ratings from JD Power and Consumer Reports especially relative to the competition. One of the biggest musts for a family car is that it must be reliable and that is a huge miss in an otherwise impressive car.
The S Appearance package pricing is a bit deceptive. While it's listed as an approx $300 add-on, it requires adding the painted rims at about $1000. So total price of adding the S Package is about $1300.
Was cracking up at your daughter around 9 minute mark. Glad you added that clip at the end. We bought an awd pacifica recently and it's a great value proposition.
All 3 versions of Pacifica has something other competitors don’t have, which is amazing, 2 wheel drive version has stow and go, all wheel drive version obviously is good when driving on snow, and plug in hybrid is very fuel efficient, and you also get tax credits. I like the fact that Pacifica has wireless carplay which is also a feature other competitors don’t have, also it has vacuum(copied from Honda?) and hands free rear sliding door.(copied from Sienna?)
Recently drove a Pacifica Limited from Dallas to Tampa Bay and back for my sisters wedding, it was awesome. I loved that thing, so comfortable, what a great road trip van.
Perforated leather in a kid hauling van... ass pain to clean compared to solid leather. Why manufacturers keep doing this is pure stupid. Put the perforated seats in the front and leave the back solid so that spills and shit can easily be cleaned up.
I have 2 kids in booster seats but have always tried to keep seat protectors under the car seats. It's a huge time saver when cleaning up their spills!
@@jeepindave5464 and trade the premium Napa leather for pleather? No thanks. Always prefer the real deal when it’s available, unfortunately it comes with a big trade off in this vehicle.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the Pacifica. I like its styling, but I'm not crazy about the front end redesign. I thought the original front end looked very cool ...almost futuristic. Your daughter's facial expressions were fun to watch. In fact, at 17:08 I thought she looked like her mommy 😂
On my 3rd Chrysler van. Love them and they are dead reliable. I drive mine from DC to Georgia and sometimes to Florida regularly. My last one is still going and had over 240k it was a 2007. I sold it to a friend. The one before that was a 1998 had almost 200k and I sold it to someone in my hometown and it was still roaming around when I moved a year ago. I currently have a 2019 grand caravan.
Micah is right to gush about the Pacifica's AWD system. It is excellent. I've put thousands of kms on my AWD Pacifica this winter driving through the Canadian Rockies in Alberta and the interior mountains of BC in some of the worst conditions imaginable. This is a huge step up from the FWD minivans I used to drive.
Which minivan you think is more reliable and what about the price too replace the sienna hybrid battery when it goes bad will that factor in on your choice?
As she points out, the touchscreen is difficult to operate when driving. A common problem nowadays. I want to know when automobile makers are going to incorporate ergonomics in designs. When will they realize that physical buttons for some functions is easier and safer?
I'd have a Pacifica over some SUVs. Minivans really are the best utility vehicles around. I moved most of my household goods using my mom's Grand Caravan.
I'm in the twilight years with a 2005 T & C with 225,000 miles. Still Rides great but getting rusted out (Michigan) and minimal maintenance over the years. ;)
The van is nice but I’m sitting here thinking about when you first brought Evie into your reviews, she was seemingly camera shy and now she’s seemed to warm up well. Keep up the good family reviews!
Not unlike a Ram truck, they seem really well thought out but I hesitate based on engine dependability and transmission dependability. And, the van is the thoughtful mans pickup truck. All the space needed yet great for daily driving. Highly underrated.
Earlier 9-spd autos had some issues, and the 3.6 with the engine module controller, but since then I've heard no issues about either (this would've been about 2011/2012).
My Dad just got one and it's the best minivan we've had far as looks, versatility, power and sportiness! Probably the coolest minivan on the market today and best part ours is AWD as well with that S Package but in all black.
No kids but one dog and I just bought a 23 Touring L with S trim. Stow n Go sold me as I needed cargo space and way to tow a pop up. Trucks were expensive and mpg was blah. V6 has plenty of grunt and tech inside is great. I am the ultimate gray man once I add a baby on board placard. Reliability after warranty expires is my only concern. Brakes could be less squishy but coming from a 22 Corsair.
Great review. I have been driving Mini vans for 30 years. Wouldn't buy anything else. IMO the Pacfica is actually a great looking vehicle. They think I'm nuts but I think they are sporty looking. I call mine a '7 Passenger sports car'
The seatbelt for the bear was, really, cute. And, your Attention Vampire in the back seat was extra cute in this one. What I refer to as an Attention Vampire is a child, usually a cute little girl, whose personality assesses how much attention is available in the vicinity and swells to absorb every last iota of it. These Family Reviews are fun, but Sensi missed one use of "Badass." Oh, well, three out of four is better than your average NASCAR race. Keep 'em coming. P.S. I'd subscribe to get you to that 100K mark, but I'm, already, subscribed. Oh, well.
Pacific is great looking much better looking than the Sienna are better than Odyssey only worry about the Bluebook Bluebook Value of the Pacifica down the road
Don't know why people think vans can't hug the road when in truth Most Vans have a lower CG, wider body and a tight suspension which allows them to handle better than most generic SUV on the road.. even in high cross winds they feel way more planted..
I bought my wife a 2018 three years ago. It''s oceam blue, andhas the S package with the 20 inch wheels. It's beautiful and is actually fun to drive. It does not feel like you're driving a mini van. It has been an excellent vehicle. Will hang onto it for another couple years then buy an AWD Pacifica.
The appearance package and color is great. But why does Chrysler make such and ugly ear window like an old Ford anglia. It’s Reminds me of a socca mine cars a people mover Just make the back window like a sporty wagon
Nice review! My 3 kids are all in their 20's now and I just bought myself a low mileage 2019 S package Pacifica. I always kind of wanted a minivan but my wife refused haha. I freaking love this thing and I already have over 1000 miles on it in less than 2 weeks. I bought it primarily to serve as a personal cargo van and secondarily as a people hauler when we are all together. The stow and go is awesome and the van is super comfortable and easy to drive (even sporty). I've owned literally 30+ vehicles in my life mostly pickup trucks, SUV's and sports cars (I traded a subaru Sti for the van) and this is right at the top of my list for overall package. I haven't put a mile on my F250 truck since I bought the van despite making several trips to box stores for full sheets of plywood and other supplies plus moving large furniture. The only thing I will trade this van for down the road will be the AWD version.
Can anyone tell me if the very back side windows open like a wing window (like the back side window in the Toyota Sienna? They just popped open a couple of inches for fresh air ventilation)
Hey Micah, How’s the 9 speed transmission going up and down the mountains? I don’t believe you can manually shift gears, so it’s a slight concern of mine. Thanks!
I live in summit county Colorado, own a 2018 Pacific w/ winter tires. It is a solid shifting when you want it to, almost always seems to be in right gear. AWD isnt needed, but nice addition.
@@coloradomountainviews7278 Do you have the AWD or FWD. I live in C Springs and have an AWD Santa Fe that I equip with winter tires and love it. I am seriously considering a Pacifica PHEV for camping, mtb, skiing adventures, but it only comes in FWD. You think FWD with winter tires would be OK for my trips to Abasin?
I drove one as a rental for a week when the Pacifica first came out a few years back. I have to say it drove nice and everything was very functional. I actually liked it a lot. But I was worried the long term reliability of Chrysler products so I ended up buying a Sienna in 2019 when it was time to replace my minivan.
My first 2011 Town and Country had 178,000 on it before someone hit it and totaled it. The only things I had to replace that wasn't a "consumable part" was the alternator and one parking sensor. My second 2011 Town and Country had 164,000 miles on it when I traded it in for a Pacifica Limited S. It only needed a front brake caliper when I replaced the brakes. Both were trouble free. My 2021 now has just 27,000 on it, and it's been perfect. There is more hype than truth about Chrysler's reliability. I've owned many Mopars and never had major issues.
I have a Outback and a Odyssey... I also have 4 kids. The Subaru is our choice of car when it snows and rains, but now that my twins will start school, we will trade in the Outback for our 2nd minivan. Looks like this will replace it. I need AWD
