I suffered dry eye syndrome immediately post upper eye lid surgery. It’s been 7 mths. Was v uncomfortable, fortunately I sought proper treatmt under the care of a dry eye specialist. Daily routine: warm compress once or twice daily. Clean my lids with Blephagel twice daily. Apply artificial tears and also another eye drops with lipids. Ciclosporin 1% eye drops at night b4 sleep. Omega 3 fish oil 2 caps daily. Avoid strong windy places. Drink more water, relax, do some exercises. So far i hv learnt to manage.
I wondered how upper eyelid surgery could cause dry eyes even though my lids can close fully. I didn’t hv dry eyes b4 the surgery. My eye doctor didn’t explain to me.
