Bmw really reclaimed their top spot in the compact sport sedan market with this motor. S4 and C43 have no hope against this.

Please don’t beat me up in the comments section, but this is only a race because the guy in the redeye doesn’t know how to race his car. I can tell during the runs he didn’t down shift enough. He should have dropped one more gear at 60mph roll. Especially in a redeye because they have higher shift points. He didn’t quite start in his power band. Just a little out side of it. That mistake is worth about 5 tenths in a 60-130 l. Which is alot

I didn't know Redeyes come from the factory with intakes thats pretty cool..crazy but those last races were so close to the point I think that weight reduction actually helped a little...Can't beat BMWs for power per dollar mod wise...red eyes aren't that expensive for the performance they provide so can't go wrong with either or

This just goes to show man you can't underestimate a car simply because of its weight. Despite the BMW being rather far from stock the Redeye still held its own without even an intake, exhaust, or an ounce of weight removed from it. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

For me , the fastest car I’ve ever driven was the bmw 2020 m340i.. they are out of this world!

Yeah that’s about as close as it gets, great racing! I guess I’m just an old fart, but the guy driving the redeye looks like he’s not even 16. I think back on the 70s and never would have imagined the horsepower that cars have today. My 1971 396 Chevelle was near the top of the heap… looks sick compared to 800 hp + today. 😆

I think I had a crisis during this video. A little moment of aging that i really did not care for. Ive watched car racing for years, i LOVE these head to heads and watching unexpecting cars take down or keep up with the big boys. The thrill of giving a sportsmanship middle finger to the next guy having fun with you is great, but the way the guy said "lets go mother fucker" with such a demeaning tone clicked differently this time. Maybe its part of this aging process of a headshake knowing this guy spent thousands to tune a 340 to be able to say that he keeps up with hellcats sounds like such a bad financial decision. im being SUPER judgey and i know people make their own financial decisions (hes probably a good guy outside of that one phease), but something during that awoke a little part of me that prompted me to type this out anyway. looks like a clean race. fun to watch. still gave a thumbs up. fun enthusiasm by the cameraman, yet still something irks me about the way that phrase was delivered. ugh growing up is weird. have a good day everyone and rant over. thank you for upload

I have to say as a REWB Challenger owner (heavily modified), even a stock Redeye should get a much better surge from the start at 60. The driver of the Redeye was not in the proper gear and frankly, didn't sound like he had the transmission in Track mode which is MUCH faster than street or sport mode. At 60mph he should start in 3rd gear in manual mode in the last 1/3rd of the rpm range by selecting it manually then as soon as the race starts flick the transmission lever into auto.

Mashing the gas on the highway is not racing, learning to launch your car from a dig is racing. Put those 2 cars on a prepped surface and that BMW would get destroyed. I’m no Mopar fan at all but those are facts.
