I used to bowl duckpin & carried a 140 avg. These lanes may be using target pins. The expression with these pins was hit them thin watch them spin. There is also strike master pins. These pins were the opposite , you had to hit them a little. fuller because the belly of the pin was a bit thicker than the targets. If you know a bit about the game you would also know the side boards are a bit rubbery & you can catch the pins from some splits off the walls. I miss the people in the game as well as the game itself. I did at one point try pro for a couple of years back in the 80's.

I was visiting my friend in Pittsburgh and went Duckpin Bowling,, I sucked, but I liked it and wanted to do it again. It just seems like in MN there is no Duckpin Bowling, I wish it did.

Wow the guy in red was getting incredibly lucky with some of those strikes. Inconsistent hits on the head pin and saw a couple Brooklyns.

Watching last frame now. It finally caught up to him.

due to lack of oil, it’s harder to get consistent head pin hits like in normal bowling but i see what you mean

It's Don Dove, one of duckpin bowling's greats. He gets breaks few others do.

I saw maybe one strike he had help on. You can't Bowl 186 in Duckpins with luck. Just great bowling.

Sorry, I'm a 10 pin bowler, so I have no idea how to play duckpin. If they are throwing the ball straight, why use a towel to wipe off the oil?

We oil our lanes as well in duckpin. Not necessarily for a better shot but to protect our wooden lanes. Also we have full function machines that require alot of oil and grease. So for handling purposes since we palm duckpin balls we wipe them down.

Do you have idiots who use two hands to chuck the ball?

Yes and they are pretty good.

You’re just jealous you can’t bowl as good as the 2 handers. I’m not even 2 handed, but I can recognize skill when I see it. If 2 handing is so idiotic and easy, then let’s see you average 220 doing it.

That duckpin bowling alley looked really 60’s lol probably has that old musty library book smell along with smell of marijuana mixed in that skunk smell lol. That’s what I imagine the 60’s smelled like old musty library book and marijuana lol
