He's sitting quite far back on that seat, it does extend much further forward, you can see how much of the tank fairing is scalloped to accommodate this. I'm not tall, I own this bike, and I sit right above where the pegs are, and ride this for 3-4hrs at a time no worries.
It a crying shame as you said that dealerships do not offer this service when you purchase a bike. Sadly the staff are often no more than salespeople and have an astonishing lack of skill and understanding to even offer a customer advice. Not all, but most 👍

I do have a huge following in Australia from touring there since 2012. I am very grateful for that support. I am hoping to be able to head out in January of 2024 and tour several cities:- Townsend, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. The hard part will be getting a venue for the event. Last time I was in Melbourne we had a Pizza place that had a motorcycle repair shop on the premises with Transformer statues. Amazing place.

Hi Dave, Thanks for your work i've learnt and implemented a lot on my gsxs1000. However are you sure on the fork sag measurements on this Diavel? ie i know 40 - 30 front - rear is good. Unless i misunderstood, 120 extended and 90 left is 30mm front sag? 140, 90 phrase? Thanks again
Thanks for your kind words. For the Diavel there are starting points to use as a baseline then riding shows travel used. Once that data point is clear, preload and compression and changed to optimize travel. It takes a couple of goes, but once fork and shock travel are good, the chassis becomes very neutral and much easier to ride.
I own this same bike. I'm 5'7" with 32" inseam. I sit much more forward than he. He is too relaxed and slack in his seating position. I just ordered new bars with less sweep and less rise for a slightly more aggressive position which provides better handling and is usually more comfortable for me. I also bought seat cushion foam to raise the seat 1.5" and make it more plush. BTW, I'm 62, this is probably my last performance bike so I'm custom tailoring the fit to maximize the pleasure and enjoyment.

@@dmartin23 I try with my events to share information as best I can. Being patronizing is not something that I am know for at all - but we each have our own perspective.
@@dmartin23 Those are the same questions Dave asks in all his videos. Apparently the guy was not familiar with Dave and his way of doing things; which always includes lots of questions. The guy should have done a little research and watched some of Dave's videos and he would have been more prepared and not appeared to be lost. That was foolish on his part. He was getting expert advice and expert analysis, but he came unprepared and will probably not remember most of it. What a wasted opportunity. There are literally thousands of riders who would loved to have such an opportunity and would have been much better prepared for Dave and been better subjects for the session.
