People in the US always ask how so many German citizens could just look the other way while all of these atrocities were happening. I have news for them, although it happens on a much smaller scale, things like this happen *every day* in the US and WE are the ones that look the other way. Do you think that everyone in gang ridden neighborhoods agrees with the horrifying things that gangs do? They don't. However, if you say anything, they're coming for you next. It happens every single day, without exception. You'd be surprised at what you can ignore when someone that you *know* will follow up on it threatens your family and children. It's easy to risk your life but how easy do you think it is to risk someone else's life when, in the end, you know that it won't make the slightest difference? We need to be cautious. It could happen here. Perhaps more easily than it could happen elsewhere.

I didn’t know you had to pay for the Nazi’s wall…just another shocking atrocity! My question is how does one endure these things and not be angry and vengeful? You are a better person than I. These folks are so beautiful. They have every right to be a angry and bitter yet they radiate love and kindness.

I’m from Little Rock, Arkansas. We had a very nice lady, who attended our church who was a survivor. She had a number on her arm. She told a ten years old group of Sunday school things that happened to her in camps.

I'm 3rd generation Ukraine. We couldn't find any survivors named "Gurnickie" if you know anyone by that last name we are related. I would love nothing more but to find out there is family that survived. How brave 💖💝💜 I was taught the same values that made me an incredibly strong and caring person. Their suffering won't be in vain

I was very moved with the life documentation of Estelle and her remarkable survival. My greatest thank you, and al the very Best to her,from Western Australia 🦘🦘🦘

I had a chance to visit Maidanek concentration camplocated in outskirts of Lublin, Poland. It still has an odor of suffering, old shoes and hair, clothing, dolls etc., are still piled there as museum items. Terrible place.//moreover, there are pictures in Google of Maidanek of those times. (piles of human sculls) they were producing the dust of bodies to fertilize the cabbage fields nearby.

She was my 6th grade teacher and a very good one!

I was talking to a 32 year old today. I’ve been watching documentaries about the holocaust and asked if they’ve ever heard of the holocaust. They said no. I’m sad to hear that. This should be taught in every school. The holocaust was horrible.

Dear Estelle Laughlin, thank you so much for sharing with me an infamous fragment of the Hitler's Nazi horrendous regimen via your story. It must have been a painful odyssey to recollect such memories and to recount them; they only echo the evilness of Hitler and his followers. The crimes and cruelties committed against my sons and daughters, my fathers and mothers, my brothers and sisters hurt me deeply, regardless their ethnicity and nationality. In Isaiah 2: 4, Jehovah God, the Creator and Source of life, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, promises: "He will be judge among the nations and will settle matters in relation to many peoples. They will turn their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. The nations will no longer raise their swords against each other and learn no more to wage war." My immediate neighbors are Jews and I am a Jehovah's Witness. Their hearts are superior than pure gold by far. They are extremely kind. The gentleman takes care of my trash can every Wednesday without my asking him to do so. They are lovely human beings, and they are not in need of the smallest improvement.
