Today I drive and review a 2021 Ford F-150 XLT! Ford Inventory: www.larryhmill... My Car Build/Mod Channel: / @tronautolab Second Channel: / @thebenhardyshow Instagram: ben_hardypl Facebook: @benhardycar
@ Andre Poulin I agree....I think. A lot of the pricing structure comes down to pennies....now, it only costs, let's say, another 5-6k to go from a XLT to a LIMITED or other trim level, but people don't want to spend it....So, they possibly want that package's options, all but maybe several, without paying the full 5-6k...but they'll pay within 2k of that just to avoid the extra 2-3k.....therefore, the options accomidation in a build really drives up prices, too!
It’s a Damn crime how expensive these trucks have gotten. In 2014 I bought a Ram 1500 Limited with every single possible option. Crew cab, 6ft bed, air suspension, Ram boxes. EVERYTHING. There was no option that it didn’t have. Sticker was 56k. I bought it towards end of the year so I stole it for a little over 44k. Now 7 years later I’m lookin at a Platinum F150 loaded but with about half as many options and it’s almost 75k. What the actual fuck???
55 better get me an autotrac 4x4 system like GM, sunroof, 20" wheels, full leather and a heated steering wheel. Trucks these days are are costing more with less features.
Well you know how it is, minimum is raising every year so ofc everything else will be raised in price , here in SoCal a gallon of milk was $3 a couple years ago now it’s up to $5
Went to the dealer to check them out today. In my opinion these are the best overall truck out right now. Crazy how they made GM interior essentially laughable.
@@titzmageex maybe a 500a 4x2 but it wouldn't have as many features. Plus a 55k MSRP is already 52.5k after package discounts and you should probably pay closer to 44k OTD after dealer discount and incentives
@@hunkleberrymilldewbeespark3851 Yeah, and most truck owners tow jack shit. Myself included! LOL I have one because I live in a snow belt. Increased ground clearance, 4wd, occasional bed usage. Safety. Plus I just like driving a truck compared to a sedan. Deal with it.
This is sticker price, and on a new design, model . There will be incentives of course. It will ju a take 6 months to really see it. Brand mew designs always sell at a high demand price.
@@Deepwing Big screen 2wd XLT 302A MSRP was 48K deal discounts was 44K I haggled and used 1st responder discount and drove out at 43K with bed liner bad tint and rubber mats.
@@adewaletaiwo164 Sweet, congrats man. That’s pretty much the exact spec we’re looking at and a dealer near me is advertising almost 8k under msrp i guess we’ll see if that actually happens esp bc we probably will custom ordee
I’m a runner in my retirement years for a local ford dealership and these F150 ride wonderfully the last few years. I own a low miles 2013 F350 CC diesel I’m tempted to trade for the new F150. I get to drive them all often. The best ride for me is the Explorer Limited or ST.
I really like the 2021's except for the price. $5k - $10k too much. That truck should have leather at $55k. I think RAM is a better value. Next year's Tundra will be a better value.
I was waiting for this truck to come out to decide between a 2021 F150 or a 2020/21 Ram, ended up getting a 2020 Ram Rebel a few months ago because of a great deal and I'm relieved to say I don't regret it after seeing these.. Ford did a good job but the price is crazy
@@theriseagainstfan01 When I bought two years ago it was the opposite. Ram was new and not dealing much. Ford was offering $12K+ off. Made the decision rather easy. I'm sure Ford will be offering $10K+ off of these by the end of 2021.
@@plmn93 Very true, my logic was based on the fact that based on features, I slightly preferred the Ram but was waiting to see if Ford would drop a showstopper.. So two trucks I like almost equally are easily decided by that big of a price difference. It would've been tougher if the Ford's were seeing rebates right away
Inflation is a killer! Got a STX 2 years ago for 32k, now I can't see a similar one for anything lower that 40-41K. Super expensive truck, people need to commit 72 plus moths to pay for this nowadays. All the technology are making vehicles very expensive too. Sadly my income haven't had any inflation adjustment in the past 8 years and taxes are ruthless. Great video though, for people in the market and for entertainment.
Affordable??!!! Hahahaaa. $55k for a XLT with no leather or glorious v8 soundtrack? Get real Ford. This is a nice truck but it should be purchasable for /42-45k for this trim. Frickin’ unbelievable. Looks like the Ram is still up on the Ford when I can get a nice Rebel trim with full leather and a v8 for 45-48k all day long.
Yep. I thought traction control could make up for that some. I was wrong. I'll never buy another pickup without 4A. My F-150 can't go around a regular corner in 4H without binding unless the road is completely covered in snow or ice.
Yeah, that's the main thing I would want in another truck, my 2016 fairly loaded, with 5.0, stickered about $65,000 CND, looked at dealer online, with 3.5 Eb window sticker is $72,000 CND, that's Platinum pricing, IDK if, I will wait and keep my truck.
This is the trim that counts the most. The most common Ford F-150 on the road is the XLT. Not the Limited or King Ranch. The most common GM truck on the road is the Chevrolet Silverado LT and for Ram it's the Big Horn. The Silverado LT is a nice truck but doesn't offer nearly as much as the F-150 XLT. The Ram Longhorn is nice and offers more than the Silverado LT but still not as much as the F-150 XLT. With this in mind the F-series should continue being the sales leader in this segment.
Who drags a Raptor? Street tires verse off-road tires oh wait probably use your raptor as pavement princess like 95% do because scared it will break 😂....at least Gen 1s dont break down like Gen IIs. Phaser, timing chain, turbos goes on and on breaking down.
dealers purposely order from factory without the bedliner so they can have the customer order it aftermarket and they squeeze a few more hundred out of consumers.
For 55k that should have leather and not ford fiesta interior. Fully loaded 100k coming and not even a Raptor nor F250...in 2030 XLT electric will be 200k. Ram interior puts that to shame especially Rebel. You get leather nicely loaded Rebel for 55k. Ford is in trouble especially losing market share like crazy because they have shoved ecoboost crap in everything.
So I've heard after 1 winter, people are complaining about rust on these things. Which is sad, given how much they charge for these over sized trucks. I would also like to mention to future car designers....PLEASE practice headlight and taillight design, apparently nobody at Ford knows how. Every model has been uglier than the last. I've owned nothing but Fords my entire life, and live down the street from the Michigan truck plant. You couldn't GIVE ME anything off a Ford lot right now. Can we take a moment why we are at it, to talk about the materials used on the interior of these vehicles? My friend recently got an explorer...and the dash feels like silicone or something silly like that, which for cleaning purposes is well....retarded. it's obvious the people designing these vehicles have no idea of things like cleaning or repairing them. Smfh
Nice truck..had 2020 model, got severanced this year with C19 bs crap and turned it back in. Luckily I stll had the phone APP to start, stop and lock truck. Kept APP and had fun with it every 2 weeks..... Starting and stopping the truck whereever it was... Lol probably in somebody's showroom! Lock..unlock... Then restart.... Then I would get a warning notification that someone had opened the doors.... Fun. They finally figured it out..... Lol
Think I am going to stick to my paid for 2012. It has more towing capacity than this one. I paid $24,500 for it in 2013, and it only had 11,000 miles on it when I picked it up. The auto manufacturers are out of their minds with these prices. I would be better of getting a new motor and tyranny with cash then paying $55,000.
@@northlander4370 yeah I know it’s an option for XLT’s I was just saying that I was surprised this one didn’t have it! This seems to be a pretty loaded XLT
Honestly, it's about damn time the XLT came with a slow lowering tailgate, tailgate drop button, push button start, LED headlights, mirror lights, and dual climate.
@@plmn93 True, but it's a definite improvement without moving way up in price point. Obviously not "good" compared to many moons ago but not bad either.
The 3.5L Ecoboost V6 Is So Lovable I Loved It & That Is My Favorite Engine Just Like The 6.2L Big Boy V8 From The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 With A 10 Speed & A 3.42 Axle Ratio.
Nice review. I’m very happy to see Ford added more features to the XLT. The previous versions were just to basic compared to other brands. Also nice comment about protecting people’s ribs with the shift lever. Made me lol 😂
The way things have been lately, the 2022 lightning will be out/before you can take delivery on a built 2021 with all the recent delays.......Decisions,decisions.....
Good job Ben👍. I looked at a 2020 XLT with a payload of 2,017lbs. My guess is the sport package adds some weight. That 3.5 Eco-Boost is really a powerful engine
Your RAM reviews are way nicer, never thought I would say, RAM builds a nicer looking better truck than Ford. That Ford has a lot of cheap plastic stuff and cheap looking. Like a Walmart truck.
@@craigolson6311 Had quite a search here in Dallas but got my 2021 Super cab 5.0 coyote with auto shift on the column and short bed sprayed as a dealer Bennie. Also trailer pack and bed cover!
That 2021 F150 is a very nice vehicle. I think I'd like to get one when I can. The argument of what's nicer, the F150 versus the Ram 1500, is up to the individual and what they want. I just traded a 2014 Ram Laramie for my 2016 F150 XLT. To me, while they're both nice trucks, I found the ride quality, and overall fitment of everything on the F150 to be better. Again, my opinion only.
Your videos are awesome very helpful, I ordered a 2021 XLT 302a and I am trading my 2018 XLT and it’s nice to know that the ride has improved and I can clearly see the interior has. Thanks again
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee Maybe not if you lived in southern or western state. But if you've had one before and live in colder climate you won't want a vehicle without it. You can get it on Gm trucks and Rams in some cases on a 10k less expensive truck.
I just bought one 2 weeks ago with the 5L motor love it it's affordable it just depends on what options you get and the F150 has a lot of them but it's the best riding truck I've ever driven
I have a 2018 xlt and it cost in the 40k+ range. The 2021 is 55k?? It's nice to see a little power bump I guess. Will likely look at this truck again in a few months.
I just ordered a 2.7 XLT 302A Supercab Sport 4x4 with MSRP of $55k (ouch!) but it is a very high spec configuration (payload package, B&O sound system, 2kW pro power on board, 360 camera, co-pilot 360 assist 2.0, tailgate step, extended fuel tank, interior work surface, and more). The only thing I don;t like is that it doesn't have a body colored grill, which definitely should be standard on Sport models. The black plastic grill makes it look cheaper. I will have grill and emblems color matched after I get it. I think this will make the truck look much more premium and more worth the ridiculous price tag.
RAM did a 3 peat for Motor Trend! Congrats to them on that!!!! I’m guessing the 21 F150 will get the award and seeing the reviews on the truck it looks like they deserve it.
Ford is garbage and wouldn't have won anything. They're copying FIAT like all manufacturers are and playing catch up technology wise, looks wise, speedwise and everything. RAM IS KING.
Ram 1500 TRX, winner of MotorTrend's 2021 “Golden Calipers” for Truck of the Year. The Ram TRX 1500 is not just the 2021 MotorTrend Truck of the Year-the unprecedented third straight time the Ram marque has won-but the new benchmark that all supertrucks must beat.
You could get a fully restored 79 f250 on hemmings for half the cost of this truck...NOT saying this is a bad truck through just to claify! But id rather own a hi boy ANY day over most new trucks out today . trucks have lost the truck feeling. But the f250 /f350 XL is nice 4x4
Good review, way too many ads... Buy a better mic so your audio doesn’t go up and down. I find myself turning the audio up to hear you then when it goes to the ads it’s really too loud and distracting to the point where I’m just gonna shut the video off. Just some constructive criticism
The exhaust sounds good for stock, better than the 2020 version. Nice truck, a lot of improvement, the graphics on the speedometer will sell the truck, really cool! Good review.
By far the best two trucks to buy is the RAM 1500 and the new f150..the silverado was good in its own way and the nissan titan was very good. Also test drove a tundra trd ride was terrible and the interior was cheap and UAF v8 power was good.. but I don't see why the hell anyone would buy a RAM wannabe knock off when you have superior trucks from Ford, RAM, chevy, Nissan.
@@tewksburydriver8624 still love it, took a trip out eat (live outside of Milwaukee) and it was so comfortable to travel in with my wife and 2 kids. The tech is great and its a smooth ride. I recommend to anyone.
@@bishop4077 52k CAD is about 40k USD and seems kind of reasonable. I remember seeing 2019 FX4 XLT Sport 302A’s trucks at 34k USD. Ford and their dealerships play $ games. Toyota is way more transparent.
Ford has a nice profit on the F-150....then they add an extra $13,000 on top of that because it's the most popular truck. That practice is going to have to end. People need to stop paying $54,000 for a $40,000 truck.
That's exactly what I'm saying!!! I'm in the market for a truck right now and it's frkn ridiculous. I just told my bride until people stop paying those prices it's not going to get any better. Just glad I don't have to buy one at this time. Will wait til the chips start coming in and hopefully things will start to normalize some what.
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee You need your eyes checked.. The last generation f150 definitely looks better than this ugly ass shit. All Ford really had to do was update the interior on the 2020's.
Listen, I want a 20 or 21, but fuuuuuuck that....at those prices???? Sheeeeeiiiiiiiit. Ima stick with my '19 XLT Supercrew. I already have a level on it, I'll just lift it and go up to 35's. Gonna come out waaaaaaaay cheaper. Ford, get it together.....you have people wanting to buy your shit, just at reasonable prices.
