Take it from me, I just bought one about a month ago and I am so impressed with this 3.5 engine I'm still learning about this vehicle, just so much technology, I love it!
I went to the Genesis dealership in a fully loaded eClass to try it out and it was impressive and that was when they first started, this company is serious
GV80 can go for 65K for a 4 cylinder, so there is no value. I would rather get me a Lincoln Aviator, which is actually the true value king and competitor to the GV80 in the segment. Hell I'd even rather get the new MDX over the GV80 too since the Koreans is asking way too much and too confident. Aviator starts at 51K and GV80 48K, so on the first glance the GV80 is undercutting the Lincoln. However not only does the Aviator also has RWD, but comes standard with a base 3.0L Twin Turbo Ecoboost V6 with more horsepower and torque than either the 2.5 or the optional 3.5 of the GV80. Also in the GV80 you need to pay extra 11K on top of the 48K starting price to get the 3.5 (and still don't have as much power), so comparatively spec by spec, GV80 is more expensive. Of course the Black Label Aviator is most expensive than the GV80 but you get more ownership and membership features that you don't get in the GV80. Not to mention the Aviator is bigger vehicle and can tow and haul more as well. Hell even a front wheel drive QX60 mommy mobile can tow more than the GV80. Ecoboost is also proven to be reliable with the 3.5L reaching north of 300000 miles.
I find myself refreshing your RU-vid page very often in hopes of seeing you upload a new video. It seems to me that the quality of content in your videos and overall feel of each video improves significantly with each new upload. Thanks a lot for providing such great reviews and keeping it honest.
Forget under $70, it’s certainly one of the Best interiors under $90k... From personal experience with $70k GX460(of course it kills the GX). QX80 $80k, Audi Q7, Navigator etc and all of these suvs have beautiful interiors and this interior beats all... you guys must see and feel it in person! This and the Lincoln Navigator and the Escalade are nice...!
Genesis is probably my favourite luxury brand, and objectively, they probably are the best in the segment. You get so much value and refinement it’s great. Kevin, you’re taking you’re video and editing to the next level, and I really appreciate that! 👏
It has such a Presents in person, I love Genesis, imo Hyundai-Genesis/Kia are the new automotive benchmark and they deserve it!!! Personally thinking about getting the '22 G70 or GV70.. Great Review!! 👏🏾👌🏾👏🏾✊🏾
Great review Kevin, one thing I noticed with this particular vehicle is that video and pictures just don't do it justice, I saw one fleetingly as I went through a set of traffic lights and man it's stunning and it has a presence and feel all of its own.
So happy with our new GV80, we went all out and purchased the Prestige with ALL the bells and whistles and boy are we happy this is an awesome car and for the price point for the top of the line car is great. We are in total luxury when we drive it, the safety aspects of the car make it as safe as any Benz. We get many compliments from people and have even noticed people taking pictures of it as well. Test drive one and you will see what a I mean. It’s fun to always be learning new things about what this can do…it’s really a smart car and I’m sure future models will only get better.
@@billstaehlin4546 Hi Bill, We waited almost a year and the Wife is very happy she did and so am I, it’s a little crazy that Hyundai came out this beautiful car.
My lease is coming up on my Acura MDX. I like what Acura did with the new MDX design; but when I sat in the GV80 I was very impressed. BTW I’m picking up my GV80 3.5 Prestige next week.
I was so pleasantly surprised and hype for this video I didn't think it would come so soon. But I'm glad you lked it as much as you did I'm really excited to see these on the road for the first time and for more ppl to give it the recognition it deserves. The editing and the music were great as well. I don't want to echo everything you said but I agreed with almost everything honestly and I'm glad you shared you criticisms of the GV80 as well. this car and Genesis themselves give BMW, Benz, Audi and even Lexus are large run for their money it'll be a breath of fresh air to see different cars for sure l, theres just too kuch to say about this but great video and amazing review 😀
Genesis' next leap should be a dedicated dealerships and not sharing spaces with Hyundai. The GV80 will definitely get people in showrooms since SUVs are the rage. I like this and hope they get a legit G70 Sport
Awesome video man , I know that area well my buddy lives up in Apex ,NC it’s a really nice area , btw I test drove the new G 80 today , although it was only the 4 pot turbo , still impressive with lots of torque , super quiet with a nice solid ride , and thank the Gods it doesnt have those freaking run flats on like other manufacturers do , god I hate them , btw my friend put non run flats on is 18 LS and holy Jesus does car ride super quiet and smooth now . I’m going to change mine out too , I have a 21 LC500 and it is a little stiff at times with the Dunlop’s on them , great car though it exudes quality and this is my first Lexus , I’m highly impressed , keep up the great vids !!
That's awesome! Yea Apex is def a nice area for sure. Glad you got to try the new G80, def looks impressive for sure. I have heard good things about the four cylinder so I'm glad you could confirm. I agree run flats arent the best, congrats on owning the LC one of my most favorite cars I've driven for sure. Sad thing about the LC is, if you have 21" rims you really only have 3 tire choices approved by Lexus. I personally am going to keep using run flats on my LC because it would really suck If we got a flat tire since we don't have a spare. I really like the bridgestones I currently have, Michelins are pretty good and I may try that next. I heard Dunlops weren't the best. Thanks again for your support and for stopping by!
Awesome review dude. I'm feeling the classy intro too. You're producing on a television worthy quality level. I think it would be a nice touch to interject small 5 second or so clips in between segments where you show youself driving with just music. Long time no see. Been seeing so many of your reviews pop up where I'm like "I can't wait to get to that". And then get too busy. But I saw the thumbnail of that beautiful exterior of that truck and had to see your review of it. I'm super impressed by Genesis. I would buy that in a heartbeat (If I could lol).
Hey my friend I def remember your user name! Hope all has been well with you. Honored by your kind words and support! I def agree Genesis has gone next level with their products
Thank you for the review as always. I've been watching your videos for a while and recently got a 21 camry xle after your review. This is a car I'd love to have in the future someday. Saw one recently on a road and it really stood out
Massive congrats on the new Camry XLE! Such a solid choice, very happy for you. Thanks again for supporting, and yes very impressed with what Genesis is doing
Seems like one of the best value luxury SUV’s to ever come out since the Lexus RX 350; albeit this is a step above the RX. Maybe a good option to step up, seeing as Lexus doesn’t have a top tier crossover yet.
Yea I def agree my friend, and I think even the 4 cylinder might not be a bad option as long as it is smooth so with potential discounts it could be a nice value
Thanks for looking at this Genesis, have to agree with you on the interior it's incredibly classy. Hopefully we will get these in Australia. Love the bold look of this SUV on the outside design. Thanks Kevin
Yea my friend Interior was def something to behold for the price. I hope Genesis develops a stronger presence in Australia, but thanks again for always stopping by!
What a dope car sadly genesis doesnt exist here so i will never put my eyes in one you can defenetly see the bentley influence. Cool to see an art deco interior instead of nightclub on the interior , its probably a bargain now and in 3-5 years will be even more,i loved it
Ah man that's crazy you don't get Genesis there. They've been going crazy in the states and even rolled out a near production ready Genesis coupe that is fully electric idk if you saw that
@@MeynMotorGroup I mean if its hard to beat the germans in the USA imagine in their hometown :D I imagine that concept is the Genesis X ,i didnt know about but now i know and already in love ,that booty looks like an aston wtf, im all about this underdogs that are commiting to their projects and releasing high quality stuff and i think Mazda is another good example of that
I'm trying to convince my parents to look at this exact model... but they insist on getting the Expedition Platinum and why I don't know. Maybe if they considered the Navigator Reserve I'd be ok (because those are rarely seen) but everybody where I'm from drives an Expedition, Tahoe/Yukon or Armada/QX80. I think from a value and amenities perspective the Genesis has way more to offer and literally NO ONE in the general population has one yet haha 😂
Ok, so you don’t like the 3D gauge cluster but perhaps the rest of us do and you could turn it on for us to see? If you are a car reviewer then show us the features whether you like it or not.
I’m not a one percenter but I’m picking one up. I had been planning to buy something like the Palisade or the Telluride, but this car offered so much and felt so great that it sold me one buying luxury. The only downside is I can’t even order until October and delivery won’t be until December at the esrliest.
the center of the control ring that controls the infotainment screen is a writing pad. you can type the letters of a destination letter by letter into the GPS. and there is a parking feature where it does way more than go straight forward and backwards
Nobody can that's why I always recommend to lease then throw it away after 2-3 years no headaches and you get a new car. Idk something to look into. Problem with waiting is people will say the same thing 3 years from now about the next new model
Smart, wait until you can afford it. Leasing will keep you poor forever. I bought Prestige model for cash. I can afford it, because i never financed or leased a vehicle. If I were younger, i would wait and buy a nice preowned model in a couple of years.
Always nice to have a few flexes in the comment section. I bought my local Applebee's I didn't pay cash, I put it on my Amex Platinum card for the points ya know?
One stone WAS left unturned, only one. They mistakenly mounted rear wiper arm low on rear glass. They should've placed it up under rear wing, concealed & moved hatch release someplace else!
And last but not least really love those sun shades on the windows that can be used like using the windows to go up and down never saw that feature another swagged out feature would I love to have that on my LS430 bro lol 😎👍🏾👍🏾
Yea bro loved that feature for sure, usually you have to pull it up yourself but this is nice how it is electric, thanks again bro for watching and giving your thoughts
Great video Kevin and you made some considerable efforts in making good editing. I like this car but I wish there was less bling with the metal being too shiny for my liking on the side doors and alloys. The grill is too big for me. Apart from all these, it is a car that is very attractive and tempting to buy other the well known manufacturers.
Thank you my friend, I def tried my best def have a long ways to go tho haha. Man I am a sucker for the bling lol but yea I can see people blacking that stuff out give it a more stealth appearance. But def a quality built vehicle for sure I do appreciate it. And thanks again for stopping by like always!
I own a Prestige. Those 22” wheels look fantastic but you feel every single bump on the highway. These reviewers all go for a 1 hour ride and spout praise.... drive it for months and give a decent review.
This was an excellent review! You’re right about BMW and Benz too. The GV80 blows them away with the interior and exterior design. I hope they get the suspension together soon cuz I want one lol 😂
I think it´s really good for the first SUV from Genesis but I miss a modern Engine with a 48 Volt Mild-Hybrid-System or a Powerfull Hybrid Engine with 350+ HP, maybe in a few years ? thanks Kevin.
@@MeynMotorGroup yes looks good I like it, Hyundai, Kia and Genesis does a really good job with all the new modells and they are very fast and on the other Hand Japanese Brands are very slow.
Will sell very well. Very impressive when looking to upgrade from a cheaper make/model. Don't believe it will draw much attention from the upper crust buyers though.
Really sad to realize, tesla and genesis came out at around same time, both targeting premium market, while genesis came from a established brand, the other one came out of nowhere, however, tesla is 10 times more successful than genesis, evident from the number of sales, not to mention the disgusting fit and finish of some tesla models
Right but Tesla is a completely different company producing only EVs and are still the only decent EV we can buy since they have the infrastructure down so makes sense Tesla is successful
Hmm I think the GV80 has a lot of features that today's buyers may want but with discounts the RX 350 is such a phenomenal machine and I kind of like driving the RX more. Interior is also pretty epic in the RX just lacks the sheer amount of features, swagger, and 0-60/specs in my opinion
Wow bro it’s definitely swagged out with all the features lol especially moving it back or forth with the remote reminds me back in the day with toy remote controlled cars 😂 but seriously that alone is swagged out for me does it stop on it’s on though bro when it gets close to other cars while using that feature?
For sure bro! Remote control with real cars now that is baller. And yea I think it will stop on its own if it detects something but really easy just let go of the button and you good
GV80 in its lightest form it weighs 4814 pounds. It is very heavy and that is with the base engine, it be even heavier with the 6. GV80 can go for 65K for a 4 cylinder, so how is that a value? I would rather get me a Lincoln Aviator, which is actually the true value king and competitor to the GV80 in the segment. Hell I'd even rather get the new MDX over the GV80 too since the Koreans is asking way too much and too confident. Hey dude. Have you ever recorded with your phone and uploaded it to YT? How do I go in my gallery on my phone and put separate videos into 1 continuous? Possible or not? P.S. sick Gennie. Did you see the fucking Genesis X teaser concept or whatever they put on their Instagram? Insane! Looks like it'll be the next Genesis coupe, and an EV. Might not be an EV, but they didn't play any engine sound during any of the dramatic & cinematic drive by's/startup/etc
Yes you have to take the clips and put it into an editing software like imovie which is free for Apple Users. Oh snap you putting together your first youtube vid? I'm excited bro, also DM me on insta if you have more questions. And yes saw the Genesis concept X it will be a full EV and it is epic!
@@MeynMotorGroup idk about yet but I just told a very funny short story and if I do make a YT channel it'd be something to compliment my streaming that I wanna start doing so that story could go up and add to I guess my personable side, like a Devon Gee "XTRAS"
No bs gv80 is really a great vehicle. But drive the new x5 with m sport or Range Rover sport. I know there both more expensive but it drives and feels way better then the Genesis.
Yes you're right about that those vehicles do have a higher level of quality to their drive compared to this. I do still think the interior in the GV80 is stunning especially for the price as well as extensive list of features
There’s a reason you don’t see the Hyundai logo on this vehicle. Take this off road and see how it does. Afterglow isn’t that what SUV is for? How’s the ground clearance?
Yeaaa the reason you don't see a Hyundai logo on it is because.................. It's a Genesis. 😂😂😂😂 Same reason you don't see a Toyota badge on a Lexus, Honda badge on an Acura etc.
These cars will never be in the same class as the Japanese vehicles. Hyundai and Kia are pricey but don’t hold their value and their reliability is questionable. All these cosmetic touches are nice but the real guts of these cars are just not there. Twin turbo? How long before it needs to be replaced? What will be the cost? You buy this vehicle for $85K. What is it going to be worth 4-5 years from now? If you want a great SUV, get a 4Runner. Roomy, reliable and worth something 10 years from now.
People who are actually worried about that stuff will just buy an 07 Camry and drive that for the rest of their lives People that buy stuff like this lease it and dump it after 3 years and never worry about any of the things you mentioned. It's a new mentality for some but this is how most enjoy new cars
Too bad hyundai and KIA dealerships are greedy and unprofessional, absent of any semblance of luxury experience. This, coupled with the salient fact that resale values for these two companies are reprehensible, thoroughly dooms any luxury aspirations for these Korean brands.
