I love the more raw experience of the RK. To me it's like the convertable of the touring line. When I'm local I drop the top (windshield), and when I commute or ride long distance I pop it on. Awesome adaptability. There's just nothing like that experience of riding open air, with nothing in front of you.

The standard got me into a bike for a significant amount less. I added upgrades later, as I could afford them. It’s not a bad option. The 107 has plenty of giddy-up, for most folks.

I traded my 2010 RoadGlide Custom for a 2020 Zephyr Blue RoadGlide stage2 torque . My wife traded her 2017 RoadGlide S for a 2021 CVO Bronze Armor RoadGlide.I purchased mine for price point and allows tinkering. The CVO was such a beautiful well thought out machine that to just buy and done made since.Also the parts back up is so bad that a complete beautiful styling traction control and hill assist was a no brainer Thanks to Matt for keeping us well informed

I have owned and ridden five Harleys, 2003 Heritage Softail, 2009 Ultra Classic, 2014 Ultra Limited, 2018 Road King Special, and currently a 2021 Road Glide Special my first fixed fairing from Harley and I have finally solved my head buffeting issues that I could never solved in my previous batwing fairing, perhaps my physical stature is just built perfectly on the Road Glide, but man it is so much more fun to ride now... There is also a big improvement in slow speed maneuvering & tight U turns stability that I have never felt vs my previous Harleys and the on road high way cruising feels more planted and super stable on the Road Glide...thanks for sharing

I work for a Harley dealership in Manchester, NH. I have a 2021 Road Glide Special and love it. This video is spot on about the Road Glide; good job with this video guys. I want to mention how fantastic this bike handles. The weight balance in conjunction with this bike in the power band is something that went well beyond my expectations. This is perhaps Harley-Davidson's best work.

I’ve been in rain on my Ultra Glide Limited and really appreciated having the lower leg fairings.

Just picked up a 2021 Street Glide Special from Laidlaw's this past Saturday. The staff at Laidlaw's are fantastic as well as the entire purchasing process.

I appreciate the point made about it's easier to make a Limited a Special then to make a Special a Limited....

A road glide trike would be awesome. I've seen some aftermarket road glide trike conversions and they look sweet.

My 2021 vidid/chrome is my favorite road glide. Its got the best of both worlds imo. I dont follow "whats cool for the moment" i follow whats cool forever 😎

I’ve been riding a 97 softail springer for a long while now, love the old Evo’s. But this year I bought a 19 street glide, 107 M8. It’s been a radical adjustment but man……., it’s like riding a Cadillac, lazy boy on two wheels. What a beautiful machine it is and what a bunch of incredible, beautiful machines they all are. Besides these two Harley’s I own I also have an old school ridged chopper. I’m obsessed. This is the third video I’ve watched tonight of yours but the first that shared with me, your ownership of the Harley dealership. That’s so bitchin. You’re doing some big shit and it’s admirable. A year ago I traded my 06 Heritage for a 2018 RoadGlide standard, added the docking hardware and King Touring pack. Absolutely love it!

chrome is just beautiful I have a RG standard and love itI ceramic coated the entire bike so clean up is lovely also everyone has black bikes ,cars etc. I like to be different

Another good feature of the Road Glide is that it puts you in a better riding position because the bars are pulled back a lil further (especially if you'revertically challenged like i am).

Matt, have been watching you for years i believe. Just got a gaunlet gray standard. Made last month, still wet!! Thought if i couldn’t get dealers local to help, would have loaded up and come to you. Had a 2018 deluxe with 350mi. So glad i found Southeast Harley hear in Cleveland, Ohio area. Third generation dealer,(independent). They took care of me nicely, seemed like your dealership thing that you show us. 400 miles first month, love the bike!! Thank you for all your information you provide, will continue to watch.

Last Harley I owned was in 98’. Went in the dealer locally two weeks ago for some gloves. Left there now realizing I’m coming back to Harley. The looks of the new bikes are finally back to what I personally loved. Chrome and classic with modern tech. If you told me a month ago I would be looking at a Harley for my next bike I would have said your out of your mind. Now I’m getting a road glide. Just a matter of which one.

I own both a street glide special 2019 and I just bought a 2021 road glide special! My street glides all black out so I went with the chrome Roadglide special! Wanted something different! From my street glide special! So I’m really glad Harley-Davidson wised up and started making the specials in chrome!

I put my soft lowers on my street glide for winter riding and it helps a lot and I take them off in the summer and enjoy the wind.

I've learned so much from this channel! Next ride will be a Harley.

I'm in the midwest so those lower leg fairings work well keeping your feet dry if you run into rain.

I owned both the Batwing in a CVO Ultra and now a RGS. I think the Batwing is a little better in crosswinds but I love the Road Glide Special way better in every way. Great Channel Matt.

RGS is a great bike. I actually went with RKS for 2021 due to I love the fist in the wind feeling and I don’t care about music/gps features EDIT: I only had one instance where I felt like the wind made a difference. I was on my way to Las Vegas from Barstow and hit HEAVY WINDS prior to reaching the CA/NV line. Blew me across almost 3 lanes of traffic! Otherwise I loves the RGS. I reverted to a RKS bit that was due to preference.

This past summer a group of us went to Lake George, NY for what should've been Americade. We made the obligatory stops at too many H-D dealers for T-shirts and such and one dealer had the Black Hole Roadglide CVO on its showroom floor. Mind you, I don't ride a H-D, but that was an absolutely beautiful bike.

I love the look of the batwing fairing but I prefer the handling feel of the frame mounted fairing. It gives the bike a more neutral steering feel versus the batwing fairing which feels odd to me when your turning the bike. So that's why I've went with two Road Glides over the Street Glides. So at the tail end of 2020 when I decided to get a new Road Glide, I did a bit of research and didn't care how the black looked after the bikes were on the road for a while. Since I didn't care about stretch bags I ended up going with a Road Glide standard with the upgraded premium radio and the RDRS added. I also added the lowers since I don't like how much road debris is on the interstate these days plus weather protection the lower offers and the higher windshield for the same reason. Plus I added the heated hammock seat and heated grips, almost for those. ;)

Great review as always. Waiting for the 1250 custom. Engine stressed member of the frame like Pan America. Less weight, high horsepower, no stage 4 needed. Just wind screen and bags, done!

Great video Matt! While I think the limited has its purpose...if the rider is willing to spend the $ on new suspension and a chopped or tour pack plus seat, the special becomes an even better more versatile Touring bike. I’ve ridden in sub zero snowy conditions and pouring rain in the desert and I never felt that I needed lowers. I did feel cramped and claustrophobic on the street glide....so I’m surprised you haven’t switched over the Road Glide yet? FYI... I friggen LOVE my Road Glide Special from Laidlaw’s...so thank you!

Great info, I watch a lot of videos and for new bikes y'all have educated me a lot being pretty much new to the Harley World.

I like the Ultra for what it is. But the CVO Road Glide style and seating where it seems like sitting in the motorcycle, not sitting on top of the tank or above the motorcycle would be my choice. Can't afford to get either right now, test road both, new models, enjoy both, and others, CVO is favorite of all in way it fits and feels. Wouldn't mind tour package trunk and maybe leg fairing, but it might not look right with the fairing already on the CVO. Put both together leaning heavy towards CVO with 131cid stage 4 minimum, maybe a tow package. Just my thoughts. Thank You both for your videos and inputs. I'd rather buy the Street/Road Glide standard or special and get the tour pack because it's already lower than the Limited. I like the lower centre of gravity with the Street/Road Glide compared to the Limited or Ultra.

Wow I was watching her two wheels and she said something about getting a new Harley and RU-vid just automatically shot me to this channel next. A rare miss RU-vid.

I have owned both and a lot of bmw , KTM , etc. There is definitely a difference , you never see other bikes with the firing attached to the frame . If you are an aggressive rider you can fell the deference’s . Demo two bikes a street glide and a road glide and took a buddy with me the was a BMW rider never road a Haley . We swamped after half way , you can definitely tell the difference. He finally bought a Road Glide special .

The teal bluish color is kind of cool because it is different. Black paint is harder to do because the primer and bases have to be like glass.

After my tune, air intake, and full exhaust my legs no longer get fried. 10/10 would recommend a full stage one just for not frying at stop lights.

I agree that the difference in stability is not as drastic as some might say, I think the wind effects the lean of the bike more than the bars which is going to effect both bikes. As for how well you are protected from the wind on both bikes... I have to agree the stock windshield on the RGS does not provide as much protection as the SGS but when you put a taller flared windshield on the RGS I think you can get better protection than you can get with the SGS even with an aftermarket windshield. I have a 12" Klock Werks Pro Flare on my 18 RGS and with that windshield I get a very large pocket of calm air. I do not get heavy wind rushing over my ears where I cannot hear my radio... at 70MPH I have no problems hearing my music at 70% volume with factory speakers. A friend of mine has a SGS also with a taller flare windshield but he still has problems with lots of wind turbulence to the point that he had to upgrade his speakers with amp just so he could hear his music. Even when I tried his bike it was the same for me but since I'm 4" taller than him I didn't expect it to be any better for me. The stock windshield on the RGS looks cool but sucks for wind protections... although I think my Klock Werks Flare in light smoke looks really good too, it has curves that go with the bike nicely unlike the taller windshield on the RGU.

I have lots of time on Road Glide and Street Glide in the worst weather imaginable. Rain, hail, snow, wind, 100's of miles a day in ambient temps over 100F and I have to say they are both rock steady compared to any other bikes out there. I think the headlights are better on the RG.

Every time I see the Road Glide I think of Crow from MST3K, but I liked Crow, so no worries hahah. One of these days I'll test ride one. I bet it'll be an adjustment coming from my FXDL! Keep up the good work fellas!

Hurry up and put out that video of Andrew describing the different aspects of the fairings and road king windshield like wind buffering on the helmet. I’m looking to pick up a new touring bike and I’m struggling because I want good wind protection but don’t care about the receiver and speakers.

I have a Sportster 1200 T, and I like how the powertrain is black and shiny Chrome. Don't get me wrong, the all-black finish is perfect for today's Young lazy crowd, but I'm a little older and can appreciate polishing some Chrome.

Taking a leap of faith would do no good, if they do not know what its like with out them.. because a softail doesn't effect your legs. But after riding my RGS... I now know what benefit the lowers have. Even now on my softtail my legs don't move like on my RGS.

Lower leg fairings or even soft lowers are great in December and January.

It still blows me away Commiefornia allows lane splitting

Had to pull the trigger on a 2020 RGL, opted for the 131 kit before delivery. Miss the 2015 RGS I traded to get it though.

I've got a 2015 RG standard amazing bike great tourer. Just put a set of Pirelli Night Dragons on it such a different bike corners better and more agile amazing grip. All the best from NZ🇳🇿

The RGS and RGL are at least 10% cheaper then the Indian motorcycle comparable options. But for the money you get TPMS and remote locking bags. It adds up to the same money. If that means anything.

Great vid. BUT I've driven both the Electra glide and Road glide in heavy winds and yes indeed there IS some vibration and shaking on the Electra glide because the faring is attached to the handle bars. Anyone that states otherwise either hasn't paid attention to it or is trying to sell you the bike (aka bulshitting or down playing the effects of the wind on the handle bars). Either way the handle bars do shake as much as 3/4" of an inch side to side on the Electra glide during high winds only mild winds don't seem to make a noticeable difference.

Matt, the standard has the Enforcer 2 wheels. Wider spokes and 18 inch rear. Side by side you can see a distinct difference.

In 2017 I bought the FLTRU, I still have that bike and love it! I've done some work here there to it and it's just so versatile. Engine upgrades, head unit upgrade with 8 speakers! The point for me was should I get the other Road Glide with less and add later or should I just buy the entire cow and milk it for what it's worth? I chose the latter of the two of course and have never regretted my decision in doing so. It's just an all-around great ride! So, it's not a 114, 117 or even a 131 but what it has in it will hands down stomp a 114 and a 117 in stock configuration. Also, who is still wasting money on those rattling quick release tour pak mounts? The stock mount has two fasteners per side and just disconnect the wiring without cutting anything. So simple and it retains the rigid mounting. I've upgraded the seat because a trip I took down to Southern Cal I stopped at El Cajon HD and asked them what the biggest aftermarket seat was for my Road Glide, BAM! Mustang tour King seat! Wow! I don't care who you are, if you do thousands of miles, you need the seat that will get you there. Also added Progressive Performance suspension front and rear! It literally saved my ass! A few times! I've never been a fan of those custom style wrap around bags because I'm a 2 into 1 kind of rider. I also blacked out all the chrome (with the excpetion of the primary intake and transmission trim, so it has a nice new style to it. My local dealer asked if I was looking to trade it in. No thank you, it's paid for, and the newer bikes just aren't stealing its thunder and they said they would give me $14, 250. I just laughed! I wasn't insulted I know how the game works they're trying to make money to feed their employees and get you into the latest thing. Might never sell it quite honestly. I just love it to death! My next bike will be a Road King!
