Love the type r. So practical. I went to Ikea to buy baby stuff. I was able to fit crib, 6 drawer dresser, baby diaper dresser, night stand table, baby mattress, TV stand, and a few other items with room to spare.
Only problem with the Type R is that all the dealers mark it up ridiculously in my area. One of the dealership I went to wouldn't even let me test drive the car smh...
I was lucky enough to be offered a Type R for sticker but having said that...I was only trying to see if I would fit inside and definitely would not have paid more than sticker.Honda still makes a profit even at sticker. There are plenty of used Type Rs on the market that can be test driven and if happy with it purchased...it is a Honda after all and bulletproof as a rule which is why I bought one as a daily commuter. If you still wish to buy new after your test drive then stand your ground against price gouging and purchase out of state if necessary. The drive home will be worth it...
@@justwingingit1 I almost got one and actually bought an AWD Stinger--2020 AWD and paid 36k.I went to the track in november of last year and was bumped up to race american V8s--and rightly so--my Stinger did the quarter mile more then a second faster then this.BTW I also raced a 500 HP WRX and won by .2 of a second--does not seem like a lot--but .2 of a scond in the quarter mile was almost 3 car lengths--a second would have been 5 plus or more.It needs AWD to compete. It also has No midrange punch unless you drop it at least 2 gears--in my stinger i can be on the HWY and just give the pedal passing power and the car rockets after a split 2nd--this thing needs to be redlined everywhere to accelerate.Do not get me wrong--it is a fantastic car--but for the price the stinger is much better and much much faster. I am at one year on my stinger and no hiccups and i have gone to the drag and broke into the 12s in the quarter--none of the stock 4 cylinders did it and the fastst one was the heavily modded WRX that i still beat--video is on here.
@@khronin Good for you Brother! I’m happy for you! A Stinger is a great car but a type R and a WRX are not quarter mile cars...they’re canyon carvers by design. I know that there are Type Rs today that are in the 12s and even the 10s in the quarter mile. I don’t know how they hook up personally 😁 but I have to say your choice of an AWD vehicle is a solid one! Wet or dry it’ll hook up especially later on when bolt ons are installed. I’m still planning on modifying my R but nothing too crazy...even the guys who race stay in the 370hp range and focus on weight reduction/handling...just like the famous Mini Cooper...when used for its intended purpose...it’ll outshine more powerful vehicles.
Type R nailed the looks, but for the same money, I would go for STI. Used to own a 15' Si, too much front wheel spin at the lights, but the 2.4 L 4 cyl engine is great
IMO those are pretty damn cool wheel design. I love them. I know a lot of people that don't like them. A lot of people will change out the wheels to something they think looks better but not many do. When I get one it will stay stock, except maybe some engine mods.
This is absolutely worth the purchase, the way I see it is get this, then enjoy it and wait and see for the 2022 Civic, if you love it? Then get the 2023 version and trade in your 2021 and no harm no foul
Okay, I have one question. So I'm 14 almost 15 rn and I live in North Dakota so we get our license here at 15 and I really want this car but I have no clue how to drive a manual. How long does it usually take to learn?
I love my 2020 boost blue here in NYC. Amazing car and the color looks different as the day goes on and in different weather. So much depth to it. Camera and video never does it justice. In person it's next level
Great video as always! Been following you for a while. Loved how you pimp the Supra BTW. I been shopping for the LE Type-R, and I'm having to shop a bit to find a dealership that isn't charging + $30k above MSRP. I was wondering if you there's any advice you can give. It's tough because the LE is very limited. Thanks!
Makes 2 of us cause I’ve contacted probably over 30+ dealers and cheapest I’ve found has been 10k over msrp for the LE. As for other Type R’s some of those same dealers had them at msrp but not the LE unfortunately.
I’m a huge fan of the CTR, it’s a great car. Instant classic .. I’m not a fan of the red color way in every interior but I’m knit picking .. I hope for 2022 Honda tones down the styling a notch or two. The only reason I didn’t purchase the CTR (well 2 reasons) one was the styling .. hey Honda, 2001 called, Brian O’Connor wants his bigass wing back🤣🤣🤣!! Second was Honda dealerships unlimited markups!! I ended up with a low mileage pre owned M2.
No AC, No USB or 12V Chargers for both rear passengers. That’s kinda cheap for a $39,000 car. Some will say it’s a sport car first, passenger car 2nd, then why give it 2 more doors and all all this weight!
0:27 "boosted blue" incorrect. It's boost blue. Also, the thumbnail says "SUPER RARE COLOR", in fact, boost blue is the most produced CTR color for the 2020 and 2021 model years
I don't know why in Puerto Rico it cost over $60,000.00!!! It sucks... It's an amazing car to have, but not at that price... It's better to buy a house...
Oh I want it but God do I fucking hate when the reverse in on the right side of the stick, also doesn't seem to be any lever or buttons to move it to reverse? Is there any kind of safety to prevent you from accidentally moving it over into that?
Another great review Ben and that car looks like fun to drive. Surprising to me, it has more HP than the 2017 Audi S3 I leased that had 292 stock until I added the APR stage I tune then I boosted up to 358 HP and 349 ft-lbs and turned it into a 12 sec car in the 1/4.
Type R I’ve raced the STI roll on and from a dig my Type R pulled stock. 306HP vs 305HP and lighter, track the STI wouldn’t stand a change against my Type R and I’ve owned both. Type R was my favorite but I will say I love the Boxer exhaust
When I was in the market for a new car and I heard about the Civic Type R, I wanted to test drive one. But when I got to the dealership and saw that ridiculous whale tail on the ass end of the thing, I said no thanks. I moved on and bought something as good even though it cost me $6,000 more.
lol I agree with you that the huge wing on the back is just crazy disgusting stupid and way too over the top. If I were to get it then it’s getting replaced with something smaller ASAP like for sure. Still beautiful car though.
They're ugly!... says no one who's ever been behind the wheel of a Civic Type R. Simply in a class all its own at this price point (even with dealer markup) With almost no depreciation they are practically free to own.
Im 30 and when i tested it I felt completely out of place. I felt like i was driving a kids car with a dumb oversized wing. Ill still wait for my c8 this May
I agree not reallly a fan of the kia either for the longest time i drove a 06 honda hatchback si but u have to admit for the same price it is a better bargain u get more hp
Wrong for 57k you can get a Kia stinger GT2 which does make more HP. The Kia stinger gt-line the one your talking about makes 306hp and cost around the same as the type r and the Kia does not offer the stingers in a manual trans.
